Peter Rabbit

Hi friends! The grass is finally green here and the Spring bulbs are shooting up! 😁

🐇Lapin de Pâques free chart from https://pentydeval.blogspot.com 🐇 I am calling him Peter Rabbit. He was shown stitched all monochrome. I decided to stitch his bandana red, and the eggs pastel colors and the flowers red and yellow. I think the overall look is really cute.

I used WDW Palomino for the rest. I stitched this two over two on 32ct Marbled Bunny 🐰. That two tone twine trim is from my stash. I hand sewed it on.🥴I think that turned out pretty good. The backing fabric is from my stash too.

💗❤️💛💚💙💜

🌸🐰April Corner Shelf🐰🌸 I had to wait for the sun to show you my corner shelf, because I could not get good pictures. More bunnies added since last year, and I made a fun button carrot too.

📚Well I cannot recommend Rhys Bowen books to you all enough! This would be the first book she has co-written with her daughter Clare Broyles I have read every Molly Murphy Mystery book. I highly recommend them. This one revolves around a murder on Ellis Island and the main suspect is the spitting image of Molly! If you are new to this series, I suggest you start at the beginning.

It has been TWO YEARS since our local stitch group has met in person! Last night we finally did in our local library. Oh this did my soul good. We never even met Linda ( the short one on the left 😉) in person. Well Barb had. Linda made these beautiful thread catcher/needlebooks for each of us. And these gorgeous strawberries too.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

I am going to begin my monthly stitching now. I do not want to get behind. After that I have to create an angel for my Mom for her birthday. What are you stitching right now?

I hope you have a Blessed Easter my friends. We will be celebrating Easter with our children and in-laws at my in-laws this Sunday.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Out With March , In With April

Hi friends! I have something a little different for you. April Cubby Shelf Display💐 These are all stitched over one, except the little pillows on top. I have been asked many times for close up pictures of the cubby shelf stitching. I did a video for you instead. I hope this helps. 😊

March's Daffodil by Cottage Garden Samplings 💐

This entire monthly series is gorgeous and it was a GENEROUS GIFT FROM DEAR ASTRID Thank you once again Astrid! I am stitching them each one over two on 40ct lambswool linen with the called for DMC. I used StitchySilk Cherry Blossom (a gift from Carol) for the butterflies. I also used Dragon Floss in Love Always (a gift from June) for the white daffodils. I always wanted to plant pink daffodils in one of my gardens. I never did. So I planted them here!😉 I am making flat finishes out of all twelve months and mounting them with a magnet to this finishing piece I got from Hobby Lobby.
💐🍀💐🍀💐🍀💐🍀💐🍀💐

Friends, would you please keep our friend Astrid and her dear father, and her entire family in your prayers? Her dear mother has passed on.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.  James 1:12

I am working on an Easter stitch. Are you?

It is snowing as I type. Ugh. I wish it would warm up and stay warm and sunny.

I hope and pray you all have a wonderful new week my friends! God bless you. Thank you for stopping by.

We Shall Overcome

Hi friends! This has always been a very moving song for me throughout my life.

I have made a free pattern for everyone. If you should like to stitch this pattern, you will find the pattern at the top of this page. Click the grey 'Free Cross Stitch Charts' Tab, this will take you to my free charts page. You will find the pattern there. If you stitch it, I would love to see a picture of it.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35📖

🙏🏿🙏🏾🙏🏽🙏🏼🙏🏻

I just finished March's Daffodil by Cottage Garden Samplings. I am working on the final finishing today.

I plan to gather linen and floss for a new Easter stitch today.

It snowed this morning. Blech.

“Walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us.”  Ephesians 5:2

I hope you have a bright, cheery day today! Thank you for stopping by and thanks for those comments.

Pot O' Gold

Hi friends! Here is the St. Patrick's piece I finally finished.

🍀Pot O' Gold by With Thy Needle & Thread 🍀 Stitched two over two on mystery 32ct linen with called for threads and DMC gold floss from stash. Stuffed with wood shavings and backed with a lovely matching linen that is shot through with gold.✨

🍀🎩🍀🎩🍀🎩🍀🎩🍀🎩🍀

I have a special piece I designed that I will be back with on my next post.

📚This was my latest treadmill read🏃‍♀️. I love really well written Jane Austen fiction. Do you? I am going to share with you the review from O Magazine here on this book, since it sums it up perfectly: "If you have a Jane Austen-would-have-been-my-best-friend complex, look no further . . . [Barron] has painstakingly sifted through the famed author's letters and writings, as well as extensive biographical information, to create a finely detailed portrait of Austen's life—with a dash of fictional murder . . . Some of the most enjoyable, well-written fanfic ever created."

I have not seen any flowers poking up here yet. I know June's garden is just bursting!! How about by you?

You are my hiding place and my shield;

I hope in Your word. Psalm 119:114

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your comments my friends. I will be back very soon. Have a great weekend.😘

Vickie

Peace

Hi friends!  I have finished my peace pattern and want to share it with you. Peace card exhibition by Gera! Kyoko Maruoka 🕊️

This beautiful pattern was created by Kyoko for the 2016 peace card exhibition. This is a free pattern available on her IG. I stitched this 2 over 2 with the called for DMC on 28ct yellow Meran linen. How are you liking the frame?

I found it after much, much searching. I finally drove to another town to a bigger JoAnn. Our JoAnn is small and has no frame department at all. Turns out I did not need the frame department at all. I found this frame 30 seconds after I walked in the store! It was in the Easter section. And those 🌻sunflowers! They immediately made me think of Ukraine.

Blessed are the peacemakers,

For they shall be called sons of God.

Matthew 5:9

🕊️💛🕊️💛🕊️💛🕊️💛🕊️💛🕊️

I am stitching on With Thy Needle and Thread Pot O Gold. I will not finish in time for St. Patrick's Day. 😒 I thought I had time to get this one done for the big day. Then I went shopping for that frame here and there and everywhere. And other commitments came up. You know, life! Oh well. I will finish it and then get on to my monthly stitch quickly as that is not a quick stitch either and the month is half gone!!

Did you buy new Market Stash? (I did not.) Are you stitching it right away?

📚🎧Evelyn Brand is an American journalist in Munich, Germany in 1938. She is working in a male dominated profession, so she has to work twice as hard to prove herself. Peter Lang is an American graduate student working on his PhD in German also in Munich. Peter is disillusioned with the chaos in the world due to the Great Depression. He is impressed with the prosperity and order of German society. When the brutality of the regime hits close, he discovers a far better way to use his contacts within the Nazi party--to feed information to the shrewd reporter he can't get off his mind. This novel is full of suspense and romance is a 💯clean read! A very inspiring read. NICE.

Is it warming up by you? It is by us. Still patches of snow on the ground, but it is in the thirties and forties at night! And in the forties, fifties, and tomorrow it will reach the mid-sixties!! HOORAY!

“He will cover you with His feathers, under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." Psalm 91:4

Have a super day! Thanks for stopping by. You are appreciated. 😊And I thank you for your comments. Make sure you have an email for me to respond to you. I always reply back when you leave a comment.

Corner Shelf

Hi friends! Here is my ☘️🍀March Corner Shelf🍀☘️

The winner of my giveaway is Sandra! I have contacted you by email Sandra. Please email me with your postal address. Thank you.

I am still stitching on a peace pattern. No one else here on the blog commented and told me last time  that they are also stitching on a pattern for me peace. It is "quite the thing" on Instagram right now. I will have this piece done in less than a week and will show you. I had printed this free pattern off in December of last year actually, so I had planned to stitch it. Now that this war is happening, I decided to stitch it right now. I am praying as I stitch.

This Lenten season offers much for us to be praying and fasting for.

I hope you have a very nice weekend my friends. Thanks for stopping by. Take care.

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Saint Patrick

Hi friends! Let me share the piece I have designed and stitched for the month of March.

I wanted to bring the Saint back to the saint's name day.☘️

This took me a lot longer to stitch than I thought it would, due to all of the partial stitches. UGH. 😒

I stitched this one over two with DMC on 40ct Meadow Rue linen. I also used VMSS 1795 Tarnished Gold and 1795 Golden Straw. I finished this into a pinkeep for display on the corner shelf. The back is a lovely gold wool.

🍀March Cubby Shelf Display🍀

These are all stitched over one, except the little March pillow on top. Swipe to see a close up of the new addition to the cubby shelf this month.☘️ This sweet pattern, called St. Patty's Trifle, is courtesy of  our friend Melisa Thank you Melisa! I did change the bottom shamrocks to four leaf clovers. 😉 You can find this pattern for free on Melisa's blog. I stitched this two over two with the called for DMC on 25ct Moss Wichelt Lugana.

I need to mention my 10 year Giveaway again. I am drawing a winner this Friday. If you read that post early on, you saw that I offered 12 Bent Creek patterns. Well that has changed unfortunately. I am now offering a different pattern in the giveaway. Please see the giveaway HERE I am hoping that someone wants the pattern. As of yet, no one does. If Friday comes, and no one has entered, I will simply give it away locally at my Goodwill store, and offer another pattern soon here on the blog. I want to offer a gift made by me, but cannot send it internationally and do not feel that is fair to ALL of my friends.

I am now stitching a PEACE pattern. Are you?

And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,

Who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15

Thank you for stopping by. I am so glad you did. YOU are the only reason I continue to keep this blog going. Without visits and comments from my friends, I have no reason to keep this up at all and I do think about throwing in the towel.

Stitching and praying,

Vickie
