Pretty Bunny

Hi friends! Today we are expecting a winter storm soon. Our area will receive 2 to 4 inches of snow, sleet, and ice. It would not be so bad if we were not headed out, but we are taking Auntie Kathy to an appointment today.

She needs prayer my friends. We are deeply concerned that cancer may have returned. She has experienced some vaginal bleeding for the last few weeks. She originally had colon cancer two and a half years ago. Brian and I would never venture out in this weather, but she needs to be seen. We just cannot cancel on her. Brian is a very safe driver and they have hyped up this storm so much, I feel they will be salting the roads very well. Please pray for our safe travels too. Thank you!

This is Our Lasting Friendship by Blackbird Designs.

This is my friend RoseAnn's sampler. Eight of us in our local cross stitch group are doing a round robin with this pattern. I just completed the "March" stitching on this/RoseAnn's sampler last night. I especially love the center flowers.

I stitched this free pattern two over two on 32ct white evenweave with the DMC and hand-dyed, but one over two with the Wisper. I used everything from my stash.

The bow was stitched with Stitchy Stuff in Bubblegum Blast. 🤩 This floss was a gift from our friend Robin Thanks Robin! It is gorgeous!

Isn't this bunny darling? I just had to take a break from samplers when I spotted this free pattern. I knew I wanted to use Wisper, so I was NOT going to stitch him itty bitty. 🥴😵

I am now stitching a March BBD stocking. Are you stitching March themed pieces? Or are you stitching Spring? Or Easter?

📚🎧I am going to give you the quick review off the back of the book since it is perfect.

In 1940, Corrie ten Boom was living with her father and sister above their watch shop in Haarlem when their country was invaded. Armed with the gift of their faith and their belief in doing what was right, this devoutly Christian family provided sanctuary for persecuted Jews. Before long, the Nazis captured Corrie and her family and sent them to a concentration camp, where Corrie lost both her sister and father.

As you can see from the photo, this book is considered a sequel to The Hiding Place, which I read many years ago and I highly recommend! Actually I highly recommend ANYTHING written by this beautiful soul. She was such a devoted evangelist. She traveled the world for the Lord. I now ordered Corrie Ten Boom's Prison Letters from my library. I think that will be a very interesting and encouraging read.

I will leave you with a final quote from Corrie from this book.

“Although the threads of my life have often seemed knotted, I know, by faith, that on the other side of the embroidery there is a crown. As I have walked the world—a tramp for the Lord—I have learned a few lessons in God’s great classroom.”

I am offering this chart as a giveaway.

This giveaway is open to all of my American friends this time. If you would like this chart, please be a sidebar follower of this blog. Please leave a comment on this post stating you would like this chart. I will draw the name of the winner on Friday March 3rd.

“The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to give strong support to those whose heart is toward him.”   2 Chronicles 16:9

I hope you are snug and warm wherever you are! Have a great day my friends!

Valentine Stitching

Hi friends! Happy Valentine's Day! Here is the last of my Valentine stitching. 💕Love is Kind💕This is a complimentary design by Hands on Design.

I stitched the left one with the called for DMC on the called for 32ct antique white linen. I gifted this to my stitching pal Lisa.🥰 I kept the one on the right for myself. 😉 I stitched it on 36ct white linen with VMSS flosses. Everything is from my stash.

💕Do Everything in Love💕by Silver Creek Samplers.

What a generous, gorgeous Valentine❣️ I love this one so much. I stitched this two over two on mystery 32ct pink linen with #vmss Valentine Red, 1840 Rose Pink and Antique Pink. Everything I used was from my stash.

💗💖💗💖💗💖💗💖💗💖💗

🤍Sewing Bird Pinkeep🤍by With thy Needle & Thread. This is not really a "Valentine", but since it is a heart, and this pattern is THIRTEEN YEARS OLD, and I had it in my Valentine folder, I decided this was the year to get it DONE❣️ This pattern was a gift from our friend Gracie

I stitched this one over one with the called for DMC on a mystery linen and backed with muslin from my stash.

I veered a bit from the pattern if you compare mine to the the last picture. I mounted mine on an antique spool from my stash.

I also decided to stitch x's around the seam with the reddish DMC.

Also I used green DMC to attach my wool hull and tie it to the safety pin. LOVE IT❣️

🤍🍓🤍🍓🤍🍓🤍🍓🤍🍓🤍

I am now stitching on my friend RoseAnn's sampler from our Round Robin.

Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’  Matthew 22:37-39

I am so glad you stopped by today. I hope you have a wonderful day today. Will your day include any Valentine plans? Brian and I are going to have a special ice cream treat, that is about it! Ha!

Take care now. I will be back soon with another pattern to giveway.

Stitching and praying,

Vickie

Valentine Stitching

Hi friends! I need to share my February decorations with you. 💌💕February Corner Shelf💕💌

💖He First Loved Us💖by Sweet Wing Studio  I am glad to share this message with all of my IG friends. It has it's new home in my cubby shelf.

I stitched this two over one on 25 ct Antique White linen with DMC 115.
💕💗💕💗💕💗💕💗💕💗💕
💕Be Mine💕from Love Is In The Air by Blackbird Designs
I followed Carol Mundle's stocking finishing instructions. Got better at it this month. Still not perfect. All threads, linen and fabric from my stash.

I stitched this two over two on 40ct! I never did that before. Never intend to again. I had my mind on other things and had too much stitched before I realized what I was doing. It worked out fine and looks good actually.
I used the DMC alternatives and GA Pink Azalea and Colour and Cotton Ballet Slippers.
💗🕊️💗🕊️💗🕊️💗🕊️💗🕊️💗
I am still stitching Valentine pieces. I cannot help myself. Are you also stitching Valentine pieces?

Our local stitch group meets this Thursday. We will exchange our Round Robin samplers then, so I will then work on that sampler. Have you ever stitched a Round Robin piece? This is my first.

I am having a giveaway for this pattern.
The specialty threads are included.
The giveaway is open to my American friends only this time due to postage. I am sorry about that. You need to be a sidebar follower of mine. You need to leave a comment on this post stating that you would like to enter this giveaway. I will draw the name of the winner on Friday, February 17th (my late Father's birthday).

He is despised and rejected by men,

A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.

And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;

He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Surely He has borne our griefs

And carried our sorrows;

Yet we esteemed Him stricken,

Smitten by God, and afflicted.

Isaiah 53:3-4

I do hope you are having mild weather. We are expecting rain and snow mix on Thursday, our cross stitch meet up day. 😒 I hope it just ends up being rain. We have several ladies that drive at least 30 minutes. They will not enjoy driving in snow!! I would not!

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great week!

Vickie,
