🧀🧀🧀

Hi friends! I did a Wisconsin thing!😁🧀 I have been wanting to create this for a LOOOONG time! I finally took the time before our Ark Encounter trip last month to make myself a chart of our lovely state IN CHEESE!🧀
I thought about stitching the words "Eat cheese or die" on it, I kid you not. Hey, born in Wisconsin, raised on cheese here! I love it!!! Can you possibly tell yet?? I did take it with me on the trip down to Kentucky. HUGE mistake, since this is all stitched on 36 count to make it fit in my cubby shelf. I did stitch in the car for hours .... and got precisely the bottom six rows done. 😑 Um yep. Anyhow I think this turned out pretty good for my own design. It now resides above the Wisconsin Robin.
I am now stitching up the Rainbow Gallery September freebie finally!

The winner of the Hinzeit Love Dogs pattern is... Linda!

Have any of you read The Girl They Left Behind? Oh my goodness! What an excellent book! I highly recommend reading it! The story is based on what actually happened to the author's mother during WWII. She was left behind when she was just a toddler. Her parents had sewn a note into her winter coat that read: "In anguish and despair we release this child into the hands of God, with hope and faith that she may be saved."

On a freezing night in January 1941, a little Jewish girl is found on the steps of an apartment building in Bucharest. With Romania recently allied with the Nazis, the Jewish population is in grave danger, undergoing increasingly violent persecution. The girl is placed in an orphanage and eventually adopted by a wealthy childless couple who name her Natalia. As she assimilates into her new life, she all but forgets the parents who were forced to leave her behind. They are even further from her mind when Romania falls under Soviet occupation. Yet, as Natalia comes of age in a bleak and hopeless world, traces of her identity pierce the surface of her everyday life, leading gradually to a discovery that will change her destiny. She has a secret crush on Victor, an intense young man who as an impoverished student befriended her family long ago. Years later, when Natalia is in her early twenties and working at a warehouse packing fruit, she and Victor, now an important official in the Communist regime, cross paths again. This time they are fatefully drawn into a passionate affair despite the obstacles swirling around them and Victor’s dark secrets. When Natalia is suddenly offered a one-time chance at freedom, Victor is determined to help her escape, even if it means losing her. Natalia must make an agonizing decision: remain in Bucharest with her beloved adoptive parents and the man she has come to love, or seize the chance to finally live life on her own terms, and to confront the painful enigma of her past.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory 1Peter 1:6-8

I am so glad that you stopped by to say hi today! I hope you have a stitchtastic week my friends!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

I love your Wisconsin Cheese Finish...this is so cute and adorable.

I have been to Wisconsin several times in my life time and we would always go to the Cheese Place to get our Cheese and than my Dad would put it in his Big Cooler that we had in the trunk of our car and we would eat cheese like crazy.

The Book that you mention sounds really good to me. I will add this to my list to read. Thank you for recommending this book.

Take care & Happy Stitching - Reading

What a cute pattern. And your cubby shelf looks great (as usual). The Wisconsin Cheese really stands out. Will you leave it in there most months?

It turned out excellent for your own design and looks great in the cubby! At least you were able to stitch a little while in the car.
This sounds like another good book, I'll have to add it to my ever growing list!

Congratulations on your own design! It is so cute!! That book is on my list. I just finished The Lost Girls of Paris, a wonderful read! I highly recommend to anyone who like books about the period of WW2.

Wow, that is a really tiny stitch, Vickie! I’m amazed you were able to stitch so much in the car on such a small count. Looks good in your display!

Pretty finish.
Have a nice day, Manuela

A perfect design for you, Vickie! I can see why you had difficulty stitching on such a tiny count in the car. I really struggle to do ANY car stitching these days... I LOVE cheese, too :)

That book came in for me at the library, but I was away and couldn't get it. Will definitely be reading/listening though!

Cheesy Wisconsin. That’s awesome, Vickie. Stitching on 36 count in the car is a bold choice, and I applaud you for trying. I find I can only stitch something that small in the car with MagEyes, but it still takes some concentration. Happy Stitching. Judy

Well, that's definitely unique! It looks fabulous in your cubby.
I can't stitch in a car at all, trains are no problem though. Luckily!
