🐩

Hi friends! I am still stitching away my piece for Madeleine. That will be done in a few days.

We had a great weekend. I am very pleased to tell you that I am able to be out and about in the sun!😎 We had plenty of Memorial Day festivities here in our downtown village area. We just opened our door and walked down Main Steet. It certainly felt weird to be out on 95 degree sunny day taking in the sights and enjoying a car show! I have been staying indoors for over a year! I am so glad my neurologist moved away and I am now seeing his associate neurologist. He is the one who got me off some medications and adjusted my Topomax. That did it!! I have my life back! Now to just fix my shoulder, right?
I do not even recall how I came across The Letter by Kathryn Hughes, but I read it. It was a different style book for me. I knew the book description said the wife had a violent husband, but I had no idea the author would  go into detail with the beatings  or I never would have read it. Never. I grew up with my mom getting beaten, why on earth would I want to read about that?!? I almost stopped reading the book several times, but I pressed on. I am glad I did. I am sad to say that I actually grew to hate, yes truly hate Rick the husband. I do not want to spoil anything for anyone, in case you decide to read the book, so I am leaving it there.
Tina Craig longs to escape her violent husband. She works all the hours God sends to save up enough money to leave him, also volunteering in a charity shop to avoid her unhappy home. Whilst going through the pockets of a second-hand suit, she comes across an old letter, the envelope firmly sealed and unfranked. Tina opens the letter and reads it - a decision that will alter the course of her life for ever...
Billy Stirling knows he has been a fool, but hopes he can put things right. On 4th September 1939 he sits down to write the letter he hopes will change his future. It does - in more ways than he can ever imagine...
The Letter tells the story of two women, born decades apart, whose paths are destined to cross and how one woman's devastation leads to the other's salvation.
I am pushing on with physical therapy still twice a week for my shoulder. Still doing my daily exercises at home too. This is such the ordeal!😖 I am making progress, it is just so very slow.

I hope you have a wonderful week my friends. Thank you for stopping by. I know the comments are all messed up for everyone, but I am taking the time to check them and to reply to them by copying and pasting the comments to my email so I can respond to you.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.  John 3:17

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Oh Vickie, I am so thrilled for you that you were able to get outside and enjoy the festivities along your Main Street. Wow! I think it was a blessing in disguise that your neurologist moved. Slow and steady will get you there on the shoulder. Have a peaceful day!

Great Bible verse! I'm so glad that you're experiencing so much pain relief and the return of your "normal" activity level (normal is a moving target in my experience and I'm always leery to use the term!).

Oh Vickie, I couldn't read a book like that - I would have stopped instead of continuing. Walking out on main street sounds so different.

Great balls of fire Miss Vickie!!! What a difference one doctor can make. All the pain you've endured for quite some time seems to be resolving. Maybe your neck surgery helped a little too. Very happy for you!

HOORAY for sunshine! Did you get a little burned? Or did you have your sunscreen on? :) Vitamin D does wonders!

Maybe blogger needs some Vitamin D. The comment thing was silly before with the Yahoo accounts and now everyone! What a mess.

Vickie: I could cry I am so happy for you, what a beautiful feeling it must be to be able to be out and enjoying life again outdoors.
I am saddened that a writer would be so graphic, wow.
I am looking forward to seeing the progress on your stitching.
It sounds like therapy is working even if it is slow going.

Blessings

Oh, Vickie! I'm SO happy that you can go out and live your life again! Me, too!! Isn't it glorious? God is SO good!! I am praying daily for your shoulder and ask God to completely heal you of your pain.

I've had a couple of books like that. I've been checking them out of the library on my tablet and can return them if they get too awful. I always hate to start a book and not finish it, though, so like you, I usually plod through. I agree - I wouldn't have wanted to read all that either.

Blessings - Julie

Have you heard the song, God So Loved the World? I love it and just find it on you tube and play it. It is beautiful!! I am so glad to hear you were able to enjoy the holiday. It must be fun to live right in the middle of your town and to be so near all the festivities!! Thankful those headaches are gone!!

So great to read that you could just go outside and attend the Memorial Day activities in your town without headaches. That’s just wonderful to read. The new neurologist is doing you good.

So happy you can be out in the sun again. That's fantastic! Prayers that your shoulder recovers quickly from this point on. I know it's a slow process, but there is always hope.

It looks like the changes to the privacy policy stuff are what messed up the comment thing? Maybe? I was looking at the new stuff at the top of the blog page about it and it mentions the comment thing sort of. Such a pain.

I've read The Letter, I enjoyed it. It made a good talking point at the book group.
Congratulations to Jacob, wishing him a wonderful career in nursing.
A lovely book you were sent from Japan.
So pleased you are able to to enjoy being outside in the sunshine again.

Yay, welcome to the real world again! And to be off some the meds is fantastic. Yes, your shoulder is the next step.
I'm sorry the book was a difficult read, especially if it's something you've experienced.
I love the patriotic poodle!
