Hi friends! I finished my little PINK freebie.
Ha! Most of you guessed I would be stitching this up in pink.😉 I stitched this one over one with VMSS The Perfect Rose on Zweigart 28ct Annabelle evenweave. This little flat finish now lives in my cubby shelf for the rest of this month.
This freebie can be found HERE
I am now working on the February wreath for my cubby shelf.
I did the MRI yesterday morning. Now I wait to see the neurosurgeon to discuss the MRI and what is to be done with me. That follow up appointment is not until the 7th.
Not only do I have a book to share with you, I have THE AUTHOR to share with you! I just read Chasing Dragons by George Mazzeo. Okay? So what? Nope! George Mazzeo is our friend RJ's husband! Yes, that's right! Our friend RJ is married to an author.😎 AND, George's book is fiction and just happens to take place right after WWII.😊 So I am in! I ordered that book and read it!
Did I enjoy this book? Yes, I truly did. It even had a bit of a twist at the end.
In the aftermath of World War II, recently discharged Army Air Force pilot Duke Kellogg and his fledgling airline find themselves embroiled an adventure involving intrigue and missing treasure. The legend of the Golden Dragons has been debated from bar stools throughout the South Pacific for years, but most believe it to be nothing more than a good yarn. When a mysterious woman enters the Coral Pacific offices and claims to be the fiancée of a missing courier on a secret mission carrying gold to Chiang Kai-Shek, she sets in motion a series of events involving, deception, mystery and hair raising exploits. Through it all Duke, his copilot, Edwina Watt and flight mechanic Nick Minetti struggle to uncover the truth and survive while Chasing Dragons.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend my friends! Thank you for stopping by.
Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Good Morning Vickie....
My Dad absolutely loved George’s book and he just sent it to me read! I have the second one to give him when we go back up to see them. He could not stop talking about it and when he heard I was friends with the author’s wife he loved it even more! I am glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Your stitching is just beautiful as always and of course it is pink! Lol!
I am sending up lots of prayers for you my friend....I hope you have a great weekend!
Sending hugs and love!
Congrats on the cute finish Vickie.

Hello Vickie,
your new ornament looks great. I like it in pink.
Have a nice weekend.
Obviously it had to be pink!
And how cool to "know" an author too. Mind you, half my colleagues in our larger shop seem to be authors and just working inbetween writing!
Very pretty finish; I just love the pink.
The cubby is filling up nicely, your new pink addition is so pretty.
I hope the book sells well for your friend.
xx
So you like pink? Who knew! Another very nice piece stitched perfectly over one.
Pretty in pink! Hard to wait for the results of the MRI.
Hi Vickie,
Your little freebie is perfect, and looks great with the pink. I really like this hue.
Happy Weekend,
Martina
Perfect in pink !!
As a pink-loving knitter once said, who doesn't love pink? It's perfect and looks great in your cubby. I'll be thinking of you on the 7th.
What a sweet finish Vickie. It looks perfect.
Good luck with MRI results.
How cool! I had no idea RJ's husband was an author :) Glad you enjoyed the book--I think I will be recommending it to my husband.
Will be anxious to hear your results on the MRI, Vickie--I'm sure the waiting is stressful.
Your pretty pink freebie looks great in your January cubby!
Vickie your new pretty in pink piece looks fantastic in your printers box. Great job stitching this lovely pattern.
Prayers are being said for you and the results of the MRI. I pray the doctor can relieve your pain my sweet friend.
How kind you are to mention George's book. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I read him your post and he got a big smile on his face which made my day. Thank you so much. RJ
Very pretty finish! I always love to see a peek at your cubby, and this finish fits in very nicely! You are in my thoughts and prayers, Vickie, and will especially be thinking of you on the 7th. Take care.
Your Pretty in Pink piece is precious--do you like all the alliteration? Thanks for the heads up about the book by RJ's husband--will have to check it out!
Hi Vickie: Good luck with your results.
I love your new finish, I love the color pink.
I have heard of the writer George Mazzeo but never put two and two together, now I have to get that book to read.
I hope you are having a good Sunday.
Blessings
Catherine
Lovely finish Vickie and it's pink :D
Wishing you a happy week
A pretty pink finish:)
Vickie, your ornament is so beautiful! :)
I like your version of the freebie. I hope you get some hopeful news with your follow up.
I know you love pink as much as I do, so I'm not surprised you stitched the freebie in pink. How could you not fall in love with a floss color named The Perfect Rose! I'm glad the MRI is done and praying for a good outcome and you get answers.
Your cubby shelf is getting lovely, my dear Vickie. The pink ornament is so lovely and looks so perfect...I like it very much :)
Have a lovely day,
Isa
I love how your cubby shelf is coming along. I envy you being able to stitch over one.
I should have known the freebie would have been pink, but my coffee had not kicked in yet. How cool that RJ’s husband is an author, and it sounds like he is a good one. Love that. Looking forward to hearing about your results.
