Christmas Angel

Hi friends! We have snow, but it is going to be warmer by the end of this week, so it should all melt. Fine with me. ha! Sorry Shirlee. Here is a snowy, little Mabel for you. :) She just LOVES to play in the snow. Her knee is healed. It is almost completely normal.
I finished my mom's Christmas Angel on Friday. I will wait a bit to do the finishing on her, since I want to get a few more ornaments stitched and made up and mailed.
She is stitched one over one on 28ct white linen with DMC 816. Love her! She is a freebie you can find right HERE.

I also finished stitching an ornament for a friend on Saturday. This one was done one over one on 28ct black linen. I have to admit to crossed eyes in the evening. ha!

Yes, I did stitch up another Christmas ornament for another friend yesterday. This one on 28ct lambswool, 2 over 2. Can't show this one either yet! ;) Lots of secret stitching going on. Fun!

Henry and I went back to the nursing home on Friday. We had missed our friend Joyce the previous Saturday, as she was having bathroom issues. Anyways, right before we left after our one hour visit, she told me she loves me. :) I told her I love her as well. I have only become this close to two other seniors over the years. I have been visiting seniors at various locations for 16 years now. With Henry for the last year and a half. I am so blessed by these elderly friends!

If you are a long time reader of my blog, you may recall I love anything pumpkin. I have been eating pumpkin ice cream this fall. I have baked pumpkin bread, pumpkin pies and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I drink pumpkin tea chai lattes all year round. ♥ Do you have a favorite pumpkin recipe?

Thank you for taking a moment and stopping in with me. I appreciate YOU! Have a fabulous week my friends!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Good morning, Vickie. Your mom's ornament is beautiful. Over one? You rock, girl! I've only done a few over one and THAT crosses my eyes. LOL

I am also a pumpkin lover. Every time I see my favorite pumpkin ice cream, I pick up a container. I think I have 5 in the freezer! That should get me through February or March. Maybe... LOL

Have a great day!

Hello Vickie,

We had our first real frost last night but no snow yet. I don't like it either, but Mabel is very cute though ;)

Have a nice week!
Love, Carolien

Mabel: You look like a little snowangel oh so cute.
Vickie: The angel for your Mother is beautiful, love the pattern.
We are almost both retired and plan on going to the nursing home for all kinds of events, I love the place.
I look forward to seeing your secret stitching projects.
I could eat anything pumpkin, I love pumpkin spread on my bagels, and pumpkin bread warmed ion the oven (microwave makes it to dry) pumpkin lattes sound good too.

Blessings

I love snow puppies and Mabel looks adorable. I am not a fan of pumpkin foods so I have no recipes. Sounds like you have been very busy being a secret santa.

Such a pretty angel for your mum. I like making and eating pumpkin pie..a homage to my 3xgreat Uncle who settled in the United States in the 1850's and had his family, somewhere I have american relatives..I use pumpkins not the tinned variety..I am hungry now thinking about it.:) I love chai tea,its the spices but have never tried pumpkin tea chai lattes, sound delicious though.
Snow was not a happy topic in the family yesterday..younger son and his girlfriend were delayed by 6 hours at Beijing airport by a snow storm. They ended up on the plane for 17 hours instead of 11 hours. Both in work today, feeling more than a Ittle jaded.
Glad Mabel enjoys it though:)

No snow in CA...I kinda miss it :)
Your Angel finish is gorgeous, and I know your Mom is just going to flip when she receives it. You have been a busy ornament stitcher, what lucky friends.
I can imagine just how happy your Seniors are to have you and Henry in their lives, and I know how rewarding and blessed it makes you feel...and Henry must love all of the pets and attention :)
Mabel is too cute, I just love a snowy dog!
I must confess...I do NOT like Pumpkin....in fact it makes me very unhappy, lol, though I bake it in bread and pie every Thanksgiving...it is quite gross to me.
Anyhoo
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving
Hugs

Thankfully no snow for us yet. I always hope for a little at Christmas. Mabel is so cute ~ glad she got a chance to play in the snow. :) Your mom's ornament is pretty in red. I'm sure she will love it. I think you and Henry are doing a wonderful thing visiting the nursing home. It sounds like it is good for everyone involved. Nice to find a fellow pumpkin lover. Seems like a lot of people don't care for it. I need to see if I can find some pumpkin ice cream. :)

No snow at my house, but the mountains got some, and that's where I like it!
Love your pretty angel you stitched for your mom, Vickie. :)

I just love snowy Mabel and can't wait until we get our first snow in NC.

I love pumpkin anything as well but until we moved to Germany, I had never used anything but canned pumpkin which is so wrong! Fresh is the only way to really taste it. I make pumpkin chocolate chip bread which is divine and also make a pumpkin cobbler every year for our little thanksgiving dinner.

Hi Vicky,
such a cute picture of Maple in the snow. We had a little bit of snow too last weekend, but far too few for Ginger to play with.

Your Mom's angel ornament is darling. Thank you for giving us the link to the freebie - it is amazing.

Have a wonderful time (full of little secrets)

Mabel gives new meaning to the term "snow angel". , my Cassie loved snow too and used to get little icicles on her ears when she buried her face in snow.....think that warm fur must keep them snug and they don't feel the cold like other dogs. No snow here, just thick frost. Lovely sewing.

Mabel is so precious! Beautiful angel you stitched for your mom.
I made white pumpkin dreams which is a cookie from Murder She Baked - Plum Pudding. They were very good especially since they have white chocolate chips. So special that you and Mabel visit the senior home. I know they love your visits. YOUR an angel! love Annette

Love that first picture of Mabel!! How cute! I am glad her knee healed! The ornie for your Mom turned out really great. She will love it! I am wanting to do volunteer work, but I just can't be around people cause they spread germs and I get so sick... I am thinking of other ways to volunteer... By the way, 15???? Brrrrrrr! Happy Thanksgiving my very dear friend that I love too!

Love your angel ornament for your mom. It's so pretty! So nice that you and Henry have made a good friend at the home. Such a special thing for you and for her too. Pumpkin ice cream sounds amazing! My DH bakes a mean pumpkin pie. You'd have to ask him what he puts in it though. I have no clue. :D Happy Thanksgiving!

We are very cold - 18F this morning - it is supposed to warm up and turn to rain by Monday evening and that is fine with me!

We also had snow two weeks ago but fortunately it has all gone by now. Our neighbour's dog is like Mabel, when there is snow the first thing he does when coming out in the morning is play in the snow like mad. He seems to love snow much better than I do, lol.
