Greetings From Poodletown

Hi friends! Here is my latest progress on my Mystery SAL. We have added orange.
Our Jacob has turned 21! I remember the morning he was born like yesterday. ♥ Here is the birthday cake. Marble cake with chocolate fudge frosting. Corralling all those little sprinkles took a long time!
Jacob is doing well in his junior year of nursing school. He finished his ob/gyn clinicals mid-October. THAT was an eye opener for our young man. ;) He worked in a city hospital and was in on vaginal births and cesarean section births too. He worked in geriatrics last year. He is now doing community health. This means working at a medical clinic for the homeless on Thursdays and doing hospice on Fridays.

Now for a little more art by Madeleine. You may recall the many, many pink perle cottons I was gifted by our friend Charlene? Well Madeleine used some of them in creating this. She also used some of my purple DMC.
I purchased a large number of pink fabrics. I am so happy to finally get the numbers needed for my quilt down into the one hundreds. I cut the tumbler blocks and sewed them together. I almost made one more complete row. Almost.
A golden view out the front window in the morning.
The results of my nerve testing were "normal activity". Which means I now have to see the Orthopedic Doctor. My appointment is not until December 1st. sigh. The great news is that my wrist pain is much lower. I know this is from prayer and my family helping me with so many different chores that are hard on the wrist.

Does anyone want this pattern, now that I am done stitching it? Click  HERE to see the pattern.

Stitching and praying,
Vickie
And here we have the two boys watching squirrels on my lap while I read the Holy Bible.

It sounds like your Son is doing really well in his field...good for him. I hope he is enjoying working with Babies. They are so cute and so adorable when they are born.

Your Stitching is looking great...love the colors.

Your two dogs are so cute and adorable. I love the way they are looking out the window in the photo.

Well done to your son of his achievements.
Good news your tests came back normal - I've had those, very painful!

Happy Birthday Jacob! The cake looks amazing, especially those sprinkles. So glad that he is doing great in school. The homeless clinic is more the type of setting that I worked in at the Health Department and Behavioral Health clinics.
I can't wait to see more of your mystery sampler progress.
Glad the wrist pain is low.
Hugs!

Hi Vickie, I fell off the face of the earth again for a few :) I can't seem to stay caught up and when the phone is always ringing to "How about coming in to work today?" that throws a wrench in on the process :) I love your mystery SAL :) CUTE! Our leaves are all gone. So they are blowing around in our yard. Very few trees hold on to any of them. But the view from your window is gorgeous! Happy Belated Birthday to your Jake! And may his compassion in choosing a field such as nursing always bless him in return. Madelyn's art is gorgeous! Talented, wonderful bunch at your home ;)

Good morning, Vickie. My guess for the SAL? A tiny brown mole, surrounded by butterflies!! LOL I'm pretty sure that's not what is, but that's what I see!

I can just see you trying to keep in those sprinkles...makes me smile. I've used those little things before and they definitely have a mind of their own. LOL

Happy birthday to your son. He is going into an amazing field and I'm sure will do great things.

It's good to know that the nerves are not injured...now to get to the problem and get it fixed! Have a great day!

What talented children you have! I'm sure you are very proud. I laughed aloud when I saw the last photo - slightly embarrassing as I'm on the train home!

Happy Birthday to your son, he's really seeing all of life from the beginning to the end.
I'm wondering if it's a little groundhog too! Or a brown mole?
Hope your wrist continues to heal too.

So glad to hear you're having less pain. And a belated Happy Birthday to your son. What a wonderful profession he's chosen - a good nurse is a blessing to both patients and their families.

The pic of the two boys is so so cute! Happy belated birthday to Jacob! It's so good to hear how he's doing with his nursing studies. I've been wondering how he was doing. Good for him! Love Madeleine's artwork. That girl has real talent! Love your stitchery, the colors are lovely. Continued prayers that your wrist pain goes down even more. Your family is so good taking care of you!

My son just finished nursing school. He was a surgical tech before and it only took one emergency surgery on a pregnant patient before requesting to be excluded from OB surgeries in the future. He can handle anything but that was just too much for him!

The first thing I thought when I saw the cake was "how did she get those sprinkle so neat"! Then I read it wasn't a small task. Great job-it doesn't look like there is a single AWOL sprinkle!

I'm so glad you're able to do a little stitching and that your pain is doing better. Praise God!! Happy Birthday to Jacob! They grow up so fast, don't they? Madeleine's art work is just amazing. She is so talented, like her mother! Love those two poodles squirrel watching! So adorable and such a neat picture. :)

Blessings - Julie

I'm behind on your blog again. *sigh* Happy belated birthday to your son. Nursing is a wonderful field to get into. My friend is a retired RN and she never had trouble finding work. From what I hear CA and NY have the hardest boards to pass, but the pay is higher. Wow, such talent in your family. Sorry to hear that your test came back "normal" that is so hard when you are in pain and want answers. Continued prayers that your pain subsides. The pattern is adorable, but I don't have dogs.

Happy belated birthday wishes for Jacob. I bet your marble cake didn't last long. When I was still working I always baked two marble cakes on my birthday and brought it to school for the colleagues to eat. I know that these didn't last long either, lol.
Great art by Madeleine.
