🐴⭐⭐🐴

Hi friends! I have finished 'June-Strawberry' by Rainbow Gallery, the 2005 Cross Stitcher's Surprise Series for the cubby shelf.
I stitched this as I did the rest, one over one on 25ct evenweave. You can see this pattern involved some satin stitch and some Rhodes Stitches.

Today is the day to announce the winner of the ⭐Stars and Stripes⭐pattern!

The winner is:  Donna!

I have a short video to share with you. Something rather different. I realize Willie Nelson may not be for all of you. I grew up with Willie Nelson. My Dad was a huge Willie Nelson fan. So I have a soft spot for Willie. I realize he smokes marijuana, I do not. I have never done drugs in my life. I have never even smoked cigarettes! Anyhow! Back to Willie, I came across this brand new song written by Willie. And a new video by him. It is very short. It is explains at the end how he saved 70 horses from slaughter. Maybe you will watch it?🐴

Have any of you read A Gentleman In Moscow by Amor Towles? I am going to say that so far THIS is my favorite book this year! I just loved it! I highly recommend reading it!
He can’t leave his hotel. You won’t want to. From the New York Times bestselling author of Rules of Civility—a transporting novel about a man who is ordered to spend the rest of his life inside a luxury hotel. In 1922, Count Alexander Rostov is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, and is sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin. Rostov, an indomitable man of erudition and wit, has never worked a day in his life, and must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside the hotel’s doors. Unexpectedly, his reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery. Brimming with humor, a glittering cast of characters, and one beautifully rendered scene after another, this singular novel casts a spell as it relates the count’s endeavor to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a man of purpose.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7

I hope you have a great weekend my friends! Thanks for stopping by!💗

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

So excited about winning. Thanks! I’m a fan of Willie.....his music, not his lifestyle. I may have to check out Gentleman in Moscow book....sounds interesting. I’m going to a huge used book sale in July. Will add this book to my list of ones to look for.

Vickie: It is a beautiful design, I have strawberry plants and look forward to eating the berries.
Thank-you for the link to Willie Nelson, I remember him when he was not such a rebel, he was rather good looking when he was young.
Have a sweet weekend.

I like Willie, but didn't know he did that. I must remember to tell my SIL, she's a big horse lover. Thanks for posting that. Wonderful stitching. Made my way here from a mutual friends blog. Always fun to do some blog walking and meet some new blog mates.

Your strawberry looks good enough to eat! :) I just bought the audible of The Gentleman in Moscow on the strength of your recommendation! I can't wait to start it...I have 1 hour left in Middlemarch and will finish that tonight

Love the texture that those specialty stitches give to your pretty strawberry, Vickie. Now, I have to say, I did not love A Gentleman In Moscow and had a very tough time getting into it. I had to return the audiobook to the library when I was about 1/5 of the way through and haven't checked it out again. Do you think I should? Does it improve? I heard that the print book version has tons of footnotes/explanations for the historical events surrounding the story. That may be the way I need to go if I do end up finishing it :)

Your strawberry looks wonderful, the special stitches make it even better!
Congrats to Donna, perfect for next month.
Nice save for Willie Nelson, the song sounds good too.
So I have the audio book on hold, I'm #122 for 22 copies!

I love anything and everything Willie! Thanks for sharing. He is a music legend in his own right and you don’t need politics or drugs to just listen to beautiful music. This is very wonderful video. Thank you for sharing.

Catching up after a very long time. Good spending time with you today, Vickie. Loved the video. New book on hold. Thrilled you are delving into specialty stitches. I get a sense of depth as a stitcher when I use them, and I imagine you were gifted with the same thing. Lifting you up during this season of headaches. Judy
