Grateful, Thankful, Blessed

Hi friends! How are you? It has been a while. I have been busy nursing our dear old Murphy. He has torn his ACL. The vet has told us it has torn from old age. He IS 15 years old! His parts are wearing out.😢 The vet assures us that with rest and very limited movement for two months, he should recover without surgery. We are hoping his left knee holds out! The vet said he can feel a little laxity there. And with him depending on it so much, and being so old, it is going to get a real work out.😟

We watched the Christmas parade Sunday evening from upstairs here in the apartment, since we live here on Main Street. I held the poodles up to the window. They like watching the action. I had a few people wave to us.😁

I never did show you the finished ornament I made from the stitching of Jacob. I showed it on Instagram a week ago, but not here.
More big news in our little household. Our oldest, the one you see above, Jacob, is moving out this week. Yes, it is time. Yes, he is 24 years old. Yes,now he has his career and an apartment 20 minutes away from  us. He will be living by himself. It is a very nice place in a very nice neighborhood, close to Children's Hospital where he works. It is still hard on this mom who has lived with him all these 24 years.😭

I am still stitching on Madeleine's ornament while she is in school. When she is home I stitch on the December wreath for my cubby shelf. The last one of the year!

I worked on this little piece while Madeleine is around and I cannot work on her Christmas ornament.😉
You can find this sweet freebie HERE It is from Heartstring Samplery.
The Rise of the Mystics by Ted Dekker is the second part of his latest series. I read it recently because I have read all of Ted's books. I really like Ted. I used to be a HUGE Ted Dekker fan. My interest has decreased slightly. This book was not bad at all, just not excellent.
Some say the great mystery of how one can live in two worlds at once died with Thomas Hunter many years ago. Still others that the gateway to that greater reality was and is only the stuff of dreams. They are all wrong.

Rachelle Matthews, who grew up in the small town of Eden, Utah, discovered just how wrong when she dreamed and awoke in another world. There she learned that she was the 49th Mystic, the prophesied one, tasked with finding five ancient seals before powerful enemies destroy her. If Rachelle succeeds in her quest, peace will reign. If she fails, the world will forever be locked in darkness.

In The 49th Mystic, Rachelle found the first three of those five seals through great peril and mind-altering adventure. But two seals remain hidden and the fate of both worlds hangs in their balance.

As Rachelle Matthews sits deep in a dungeon, Vlad Smith is just getting started. Thomas Hunter's world is about to be turned inside out. The mystics say that there is no defense against the Fifth Seal--but finding it will cost Rachelle everything.

So begins the final volume of high stakes in one girl's quest to find an ancient path that will save humanity. The clock is ticking; the end rushes forward.

Ready? Set?

Dream.
I hope you have a wonderful week my friends. I will not be back here on the blog until next week. We will be busy helping Jacob move this week/weekend. Thank you for your sweet comments. I appreciate your friendship!

Hi Vickie,
Thank you I'm fine, I'm very busy in my Christmas bakery. Oh poor Murphy, I keep my fingers crossed that it will soon be better.
When the kids move out it's always a big step, but you're in luck - he lives nearby and you can still see each other.
I'm very curious what you do for Madeleine.
Hugs Martina

Oh Vickie I do hope Murphy gets better real soon.
I know how hard it is when our loved ones fly the nest , it takes time to adjust ,but it's part of growing up .
Lovely little ornaments so sweet.

Poor Murphy! I hope he gets better soon.
It is bittersweet when the first child leaves home. On the one hand you'll miss him, on the other hand you're so proud of him for striking out in the world to build his own life. The thing that bothered me most when my kids started moving out was the QUIET! Even when the first one left and there were three still at home, it was quieter. By the time the last one left it was really quiet. I eventually got used to it. Now we have the noise of grandchildren in our home. What a great reward, hahaha!
Your ornament for Jacob looks great!

Hi Vickie....

First of all I am sending you a big hug from one mom to another! Mother hearts are very tender places! Congratulations to Jacob...what a wonderful new adventure awaits him and I know the ornament that you made him will hold an extra special place this year!

Poor Murphy! Being an older dog can definitely have its challenges but he is in the best place possible... your loving home❤️ How fun to watch the parade from your apartment! Living on Main Street has always appealed to me...ever since I was a little girl. ☺️

Sending hugs and love your way my dear friend! I will be thinking of you and praying for you this week!

I'm hoping Murphy heals quickly! It's so hard when our children move out, but it must be so exciting for Jacob to begin the next part of his life journey. I wish him all the best, and I'm sending a big hug your way. You did such a lovely job on his ornament - so pretty!

Oh, I know it is hard to watch Jacob move to his own place, but we raise our children to give them wings and fly from the nest. I still remember how I cried when my oldest moved to California--it is just SO far away. Be happy that Jacob is within driving distance :) I wish you luck with the move and I do hope Mr. Murphy feels more like himself very soon!

Awww, poor Murphy. He is well loved and cared for, though, so I'm sure he will be fine. I will be praying for him, too!

Your ornament for your son is wonderful and I love your door hanger! I'm sure your son is going to absolutely love his ornament!

It's so hard when the children start to move out! My oldest moved last year and I'm still missing him. It was time for him, too, but it's still hard on our mama hearts. I'm glad he won't be too far away from you.

I was wondering about that Ted Dekker book. I agree with you - they are good but have not been as great as his older books. I may or may not read this one as I have SO many other books to read! lol

I'm so glad you got to watch the parade. It would be a lot of fun living downtown and seeing all the activity!

Praying you're feeling better and you're always on my prayer list and in my prayers.

Blessings - Julie

Prayers sent for Murphy. Bless his little heart. I know he is in good hands and will heal nicely surrounded by all the love in his life.

That was really exciting news to hear of your son moving out on his own. I know you will miss him, but he'll be back to visit more than you think. :)

Wishing you a lovely day sweet friend.

Poor little Murphy, hope he feels better soon. It will be strange not having your son at home, he's done well to stay this long! I'm sure he will be popping back to visit and for a home cooked food too!

Love the new ornie, beautifully finished.

Oh no, poor little Murphy! I'm sure with all the love and care you give him, he'll be just fine!
What fun to watch the parade from your place, nice and warm I'm sure.
At least Jacob will still be close to you, but still not quite the same as being there. You'll just have to spend more quality time together!
Sweet finish, perfect for Thanksgiving.

I hope your dear Murphy recovers well! Years ago our Cody tore his ACL and we didn't go the surgery route. Crated and severely limited activity for 8 weeks and he healed. I hope your Murphy heals too! xoxo

I know Murphy will recover well with your loving care. I recently saw that stitch and love it, even bought an item to display it..a project for next year! Yours came out wonderful and I just love your doorknobs!!

Poor old Murphy! I think this just means you must sit and snuggle with him all day. :) A new house will be fun for Jacob but maybe not so much the actual moving. I was amazed how my bedroom "filled" my first place haha.

The backing fabrics for your new finishes are great.
