Hi friends! What is the weather like by you? Are you having crazy amounts of snow? As I type this post we have 12 inches of snow now, and it is still coming down. The snow started coming last night. I tried to get a picture of the three poodles in the snow for you, NOPE! They did their business quick like. No messing around in this stuff. So here ya go.
Yep. Picture that times three. ;) Looks just like them.
Here are my monthly pieces on display in the cubby shelf.
I have been working on Forever Be My Always by Emma Congdon. Here is my update photo.
Brian, Madeleine and I went to an antique mall last week. The one and only thing we purchased was this.
I spotted this POODLE immediately. Now you may not think it is a poodle. Brian did not initially. Madeleine doubted for a moment or two. It was labelled as an alabaster and marble spaniel, but people, I ask you. Do I know poodles? Yes. Yes, I do. I checked on the internet when we got home and it is a poodle and worth more than double than what we paid. And I do not see any with a pink marble base anywhere. tee hee!! Mine! Mine! Love!
I have finished reading Jane and the Ghosts of Netley by Stephanie Barron. This one left me stunned. I am not saying more, in case some of you decide to read these Jane Austen mysteries. I really like all of these Jane novels by Stephanie. The storylines are based on the actual events in Jane's life. I only find myself wanting to shove her into romance that is not going to happen as we know. :( You can read more about Stephanie and her techniques to creating "Jane" HERE.
In her seventh captivating adventure, Jane Austen finds her
crime-solving mettle put to the test in a confounding case of intrigue,
murder, and high treason. Among the haunted ruins of an ancient abbey,
Jane is drawn into a shadow world of dangerous secrets and traitorous
hearts where not only her life is at stake—but the fate of England.
As
Jane Austen stands before the abandoned ruins of Netley Abbey, she
imagines that ghosts really do haunt the centuries-old monastery. But
the green-cloaked figure who startles her is all too human and he bears
an unexpected missive from Lord Harold Trowbridge, one of the British
government’s most trusted advisers—and a man who holds a high place in
Jane’s life.Trowbridge tells Jane about a suspected traitor in their
midst—and the disastrous consequences if she succeeds. But is Sophia
Challoner, a beautiful widow with rumored ties to Emperor Bonaparte,
really an agent of the enemy?
Dispatched to Netley Lodge, Jane
sets about gaining the confidence of the mysterious and intriguing lady
even as Trowbridge’s grim prediction bears fruit: a British frigate is
set afire and its shipwright found with his throat cut. It’s clear that
someone is waging a clandestine war of terror and murder. But before
Jane can follow the trail of conspiracy to its source and unmask a
calculating killer, the cold hand of murder will fall mercilessly yet
again—and suddenly Jane may find herself dying for her country.
Elegantly
intriguing, Jane and the Ghosts of Netley is a beautifully crafted
novel of wit, character, and suspense that transports Jane and her many
fans into a mystery of truly historical proportions—and a case that will
test the amateur sleuth’s true colors under fire.
Thank you for stopping by today my friends. YOU are a blessing in my life! I hope you have a super week!
Stitching and praying,
Vickie

What a fantastic cubby shelf. Such a great way of displaying your beautiful needlework. 😊
Great post, Vickie, so much eye candy for me. I love, love, love your poodle statuette - what a good eye you have. I wish that we could have snow - I would love a good snow day! lol! I like the Stephanie Barron books very much, too - I must get back into reading the series, I did enjoy them but for some reason I stopped (must have got distracted by other reads, I suppose).
P.S. I love the cubby shelf, too, when I was a girl we had similar things called Shadow Boxes, which we put on our bedroom walls to hold our treasures.
Oh my goodness so much I mean too much Snow! 6love your cubby pictures.
You can send some snow my way Vickie, it's cold and rainy here! Good job...and eye on the poodle purchase.
Hi Vickie,

Have fun in the snow :-)
Well, I'm VERY disappointed as we were supposed to get snow and I was hoping for a snow day, but I awoke to--nothing! Oh well, another day at work and then I have the rest of the week off :)
Lovely filled cubby, Vickie and your newest poodle is perfect on his pink base :) You do know how to pick them!
This little poodle definitely had your name on it!
A lovely shelf for March :)
Oh I love your shelf. It's so sweet with all your lovely stitching. :) Blessings always sweet friend. :)
Love the picture of your cubby, Vickie! Great find at the antique mall! We woke up to a bit of snow this morning although a lot less than was called for since it mixed with sleet and/or freezing rain. Enjoy your day!
I always enjoy seeing your shelf - I love it! "Forever" is looking awesome. Great find at the antique mall. Our weather is awesome! It's finally warm enough to keep the house open all the time. We're a little warm in the 90s for a few days, but will be back in the 80s for a couple of days, then the 70s for a couple of days, then repeat the cycle. This is my favorite time of year - before the heat gets here. Enjoy today!
Lol Vickie...I just sent you an email asking if you were getting snow....yes I think you are...grins! Love the snow poodle and the treasure you found! I LOVE antique stores and all the lovely treasures that are there! Enjoy!
Your stitching is lovely as always and I just had to smile because the other day I found myself thinking of your cubby ...and all your beautiful stitching you did last year...it was so nice to see a picture again :)
I hope you have a happy Tuesday...sending hugs and love!
lovely stitching!
stay warm!!
Love your cubby display for March, still some gaps to fill. Funny that Kaye calls it a shadow box. I would probably have referred to it as a Printer's Tray.
The alabaster poodle looks more poodle-like from the front. You obviously have a good eye for a quality poodle!
Hope you are safe and warm! 60f here today.
Oh I hope you are surviving the snow storm... I can don't blame the furbabies for not wanting to stay outside too long!
Your March shadow box looks great :o)
I love that gorgeous marble poodle that you bought.... what a great find!
Stay safe and warm
Hugs xx
Lovely your March display!! Beautiful stitching progress!
What a great find, it's gorgeous!!
Hugs,
Lili
We only ended up with 4", so much for the 12" here!
I love your shelf and all your treasure inside it, so precious.
Lucky you with your poodle find, I wouldn't have thought it was a poodle either, glad you knew!
Greetings Vickie: Love the alabaster Poodle so sweet, lucky for you to be able to see the value in a piece.
We only had five inch's of snow we were on the edge of the storm, I have had it with this crazy weather.
Krissy likes the snow and she is from Texas, imagine that a dog from warm weather liking snow.
Your Shadow Box is looking wonderful, love the March finish, soon you will need to start a new Shadow Box.
Blessings
Catherine
What a great find at the antique store; love it! I am still reading the Maisie Dobbs series and loving it. My library has to order the books in for me, but they are so worth the wait. Happy stitching and reading..............
A great find.
Stay warm and cosy in the snow.
Your cubby is looking so good Vickie. When Brandy goes out in the snow he comes in with miniature snowballs all over his wool - the snow just seems to attach to him like this.
Hi Vicky,
here in Austria we are pleased to have more springlike weather. Although it is windy, the sun is shining and it is .... well - warm (not really warm, but ok).
We had very much snow in January, so I am glad that we need not to deal with it now.
But I hope you enjoy this cold fluffy stuff (although I think, your poodles don't, did I understand this right ...?)
The displays in your cubby shelf look so amazing. Especially the poodles ;-)
Have a wonderful rest of the week, my dear friend!
Hugs
Hilda
That cubby shelf looks gorgeous with the mixture of poodles and stitched monthly pieces. And your new alabaster poodle is a nice little beauty and so you.
