Stitching and stuff :)

This is a little garden spot to the side of our back yard. It is very small.
My recent stitching project was a birthday present for my dear friend Ruth in Ireland. :) I am happy to say she has received it, but guess what?? You still may not see what I made her. She is patient and has an iron will I tell you. Her birthday is on Saturday. That is when she will open it she tells me. :) Won't you pop over to Ruth's blog and wish her Happy Birthday?!
I have been stitching all week. I do not have a picture of it yet. Since I do not plan on returning to blogland for a bit, check this out. Yes, of course I am stitching another freebie!! ;) What else, when the money is so very tight? I am loving this. It is turning out very nicely. I will have it completed before Easter. I still need to decide on a finish for it though.

Friday Finish :)
Hey there everybody!
Wanna see the Friday Finish I have over at Primitive Betty?
I bought this purse on clearance at J.C.Penney a while ago. I loved the quilted front on it. I did not like the plastic label on the front. I immediately thought that I could cover it with a small stitch.
I used 28ct black linen and stitched over one. It is a free pattern from Betty, called Simply Stitch. I used a grey DMC and DMC 4170, a light variegated floss. I love it. It is so unique and all mine!! :)

A gift for my first follower! ♥

One week ago I sent this sweet little chart to my first follower, Nicola.
If you haven't visited her blog yet, WHY NOT?? :) Hop on over there. She has an amazing talent with her camera. You will see birds you have never, ever seen before. Such a joy when she shares with us.♥ I am so glad she received her gift and likes it!
I decided to set my small stitch on 28ct black aside for right now. It is not an urgent gift and the black, over one stitching is making me cross eyed!
I just pulled linen, bought the missing flosses and began an Easter stitch. You will have to wait a bit, gonna leave you wondering for right now. ;)
So, I finally got my new glasses. You can kinda see them in my new profile picture to the right. They are rimless. This would be my second pair that I have had that are rimless. I like them. I have worn glasses since I was 12. I wore contacts for 20 years. Didn't want to mess around with those anymore, but I didn't want loud glasses. This type works for me right now in life. I just kind of wanted them to be as invisible as possible I guess. As my teens say, "Whatever!!" ;)

I HAVE been stitching, Really!
Hi Ho!
How are we all doing?
Unfortunately I have begun to get arthritis in my fingers. A few months back it was my right index finger. It stayed swollen, stiff and painful for a week. Now it is my left index finger. I pray it goes back to normal in a few days time. It has been bad for half a week now. It sure slows down any stitching progress. Gardening is painful also.
Speaking of which, this is the small garden on the side of the garage. I got it cleaned up. As you can see, the grass needs mowing. Not my department! My husband and 2 teenage boys take care of the lawn. The peonies and irises and columbine are coming in nicely. That is foxglove under the chairs and table. I planted a few purple pansies. :)
Do you see the tea cup and saucer I mounted on a copper pipe? I made this years ago. Many little birds come each year for a nice drink. :)
This sweet little photo of the duck couple was taken by Miss Madeleine on her exploring adventure this weekend. We have a park with a pond behind our home. We also have a river a few blocks away. She took this photo on the river's edge. I thought it was cute how they aligned themselves.

How are we all doing?

I have 5 of these pink planters, we won and collected off of ebay a few years ago. They are in the windows seen from the street.
That's about it for today folks. I am trying to get gardening work done. Quite a few hours put in, many more to go. :( I planted some zinnia seeds. Gotta do the lettuce seeds as well.

Knock knock!

Irish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day! ♣
Two days ago, at our church school, where Madeleine is an eighth grader, I saw a young group of Irish dancers perform. One of the girls, now a high school senior, used to attend our school. The group is called Glencastle Irish Dancers. It was a fun time. My favorite part was a march actually. I had never seen this performed at our school or at Irish Fest or at Riverdance. This group has performed it, just never at our school, so I have just never seen it. It was called "Guarding the Glen". It is to emulate the guards marching and protecting the castle hundreds of years ago. My hair literally stood on end from it. So loud! And this is just with 32 students!
