Here I Am

Hello friends. Thought I disappeared, I bet. I am here. I just have not been able to post. I have not been able to do a lot of things. I have actually been depressed. I am in severe pain. My back is very bad. It is myofascial pain. I am suffering for many, many weeks now. The physical therapist who did dry needling made it better last Fall. He got the pain to go away for 4 months completely. This time around he made it worse. It is excruciating. I am only surviving by taking muscle relaxers morning, noon and night. I am on a new medication the pain doctor said other patients have had good results with it. I have to give it another week to see if it will work. I am still in the process of increasing the dose.

It is very hard living like this. Very. I asked my doctor if I could have a referral to go to a different therapist who dry needles. She contacted my pain doctor first. He told her he does not think I would experience any less pain with a different therapist doing it. My doctor relayed this message to me, but said she will refer me if I want to. I want to. My entire right side of my back is so stiff and painful, it is horrid. I just have not had any energy for anything. I have been stitching as I can. Sitting is a problem.

I had my first appointment with the new therapist, Jen. She is very nice. You know how the first appointments go. They are almost all evaluation. She did do a few minutes of hands on at the end. She did some myofascial release therapy on my back and it felt good at the time. It did increase the pain a bit once I got home. Time will tell with my sessions with her if she can help me. She does not feel dry needling is the way to go right away. I am fine with that!

This is Our Lasting Friendship by Blackbird Designs.

This is my friend Kathy's sampler. Eight of us in our local cross stitch group are doing a round robin with this pattern. I just completed the "June" stitching on this/Kathy's sampler. This month we stitched the wording in the center.

This is a new story and main character by Jacqueline that is about another strong woman. I am thinking this is the beginning of another series. I see similarities to Maisie really. I enjoyed this book, I just hope she continues to write about Maisie Dobbs. If you enjoy Maisie Dobbs books, you will like this also.

I would like to offer this chart to you my friends in a giveaway.

Please leave a comment on this post if you would like to enter the giveaway. It is open to all of my friends anywhere. You need to be a sidebar follower of this blog.  I will draw a name for the winner on Monday, June 5th.

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,

Because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning;

Great is Your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

Thank you for sticking with me friends. Some of you have checked on me. God bless you for that. You have helped pull me out of the funk. Thank you. 💕 Long time friends are very special aren't they? Even though we have never met face to face, we still "know" each other and care for each other, don't we. Thank God for friends like you all!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Oh my dear Vickie, that doesn't sound good, I can understand how you're feeling at the moment. Some therapies take a little longer to take effect, so I really hope that you are happy with the new therapist and that it helps. I hug you and take you in my prayers.
The sampler in your group will be really nice.
Little Quaker is cute and I'd like to be in your raffle.
all love for you
Martina

Vickie, I am sorry to hear you are in such pain, it can be very debilitating and I know from experience how it makes you feel down. I had severe back pain once and I couldn't tolerate the pain killers, they made me throw up (Codeine) and the only relief I got was from an old fashioned hot water bottle at my back. I know heat is probably the last thing you need in the middle of Summer, but it may help. Take care. Sandra

Vickie, your stitching on Kathy's sampler looks lovely. I am sorry to hear you are dealing with horrible back pain again. Thinking of you and praying for the Lord to provide you with relief.

Vickie, I have great sympathy for you. I’m a back sufferer and have had a bad back for most of my life. Last fall it became a much worse deal and an MRI showed a disc had slipped and was being pinch, resulting in hip, leg, ankle and foot pain. Twice I’ve been given steroid shots to ease the pains but they have lasted only a day or two. So Tylenol and Advil are my good friends! I just pray each morning when I rise that I can walk, and so far the Lord has helped me along! I’m in my 80s, so I’m not really interested in surgery. I am going for PT sessions right now to see if that will help. Your pains sound worse than mine, and I will add you to my prayer list. I hope you will keep stitching and blogging. I returned to crossstitch last year after falling prey to flosstubes!!!!! They are addictive! I’m working on a Plum Street Sampler, ‘This Is the Day’ right now, but it is going slowly. I look forward to reading more about your days.

So sorry you are having all this pain. I have had a few hours of back pain and I couldn't imagine having to live with it for a couple of days much less as long as you have. May God bless you with finding the help you need to get better. And as bad as you feel you till think of others with your great giveaway. This looks like a very nice Quaker pattern. I would love to be in the raffle for it! Hope you feel better real soon.

Oh no, I had hoped you were feeling better. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this again. I will keep you in my prayers for relief and comfort, and sending gentle hugs your way.
I'm so glad you are still able to stitch, even if it's a little bit... every stitch counts!

I was hoping this wasn't the reason for missing you. So so sorry to read this. You have had such pain issues for so long. My friend was not even close to your pain level and qualified for the neurostimulator implant. Except for incision pain, all else is gone. I wish this was an answer for your condition.

So sorry to hear about the terrible pain, there really does not seem to be any relief from it. Especially when you can’t even stitch for long. I do wish they could find something which would work for you.
Kathy’s sampler looks lovely, I am glad that you have real life friends as well as all your online stitching friends!
