Thankful

Hi friends! I have owned a scrappy, tattered Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt top for many years. I got it for a song. Even so, I still did not have the 💗 to cut into it until last weekend! I forced myself. Seriously. It was hard to do! I made this table topper for my new chest of drawers and I love it!

It must have taken me 30 minutes to just find a usable piece in the top that had "enough pink" for me AND did not have holes!

🦃🍁🍂🥧👪🐩This is Lizzie Kate Thank stitched on the called for 32ct Light Mocha linen two over two with most of the called for DMC.

I want to THANK our friend Robin for the chart.💝 Since I did not have the called for charm, I used a poodle charm! I am thankful for poodles! I would like to offer this chart to one of my friends. If you would like this chart, you must be a sidebar follower of this blog. Leave a comment on this post stating you would like it. I will draw a name on Monday, December 7th.

I am finishing up the stitching on Jacob and Kristin's ornament. Then I will do the finishing on all four ornaments this week. I have to! I always gift them in everyone's St. Nick stockings.

“Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”  Psalm 103:1-2

Stitching and praying,

Vickie

The quilt looks lovely, it was right to cut it as it is now being used and seen by others. Great finish on Thank. Stay well, stay safe.

Your table topper matches the cabinet so well.
Maybe you can salvage some small piece for pillow finishes.
Have a great week!

Such a cute table topper! Maybe you could frame another piece of the quilt. So many small project options to get the most use out of your treasured quilt.

Love the quilt topper. It is so hard to cut those old quilts, especially when they were hand-created by grandmothers. I have had to do that over the years, but I always comfort myself with the knowledge that they would approve of me finding the usable sections and putting them to good use!

Vickie: The top of the dresser is beautiful, I would have had a hard time cutting a quilt up but you did it perfectly.
Thank is such a sweet design, I do like changing threads to my liking.
Please do not include me in the drawing, I have way to much to catch up on now.
Looking forward to seeing the ornaments finished.
Beautiful Scripture.

The cutdown Quilt makes a great topper for your storage drawers.
I did smile when you said you were thankful for poodles, of course you are!

The quilt topper puts the quilt to good use, though like you I would have been reluctant to cut it. The Lizzie Kate Thank design is pretty.
Have a good week.

Love how you gave that quilt new life by snipping a piece of it off and creating a top for your new cabinet. Are you finding lots of extra storage space now that you have it? Amazing how things fill up so quickly!

That has made a lovely table topper, were you able to use what was left for anything else?
Your Thank looks good with a great finish. And of course you should have a poodle included!
