August Rings

Hi friends! Here is my latest monthly finsh.

🌊August Rings by Bent Creek🌊 I stitched this two over two with DMC on 32ct lambswool linen.
I want to share with you a gift I received  from my Instagram friend Lisa. 💗
She actually found this lovely angel in a thrift store! Lisa knows I love pink, and knows I am a fellow Christian, so she asked me if I wanted her. Yes please! Brian and I hung her up in our living room within 10 minutes of receiving her. Do you see the metallics used in her?💗
And look at what is on the back of the frame. Yes, I actually cried.😢

📚I do believe this is THE best audio book I have listened to this year. The story begins in 1914 Vienna with Lucius, twenty-two year old medical student. WWI breaks out, and he enlists, expecting a position at a well-organized field hospital. Instead, he finds himself at a freezing church outpost tucked away high in a a remote valley of the Carpathian Mountains that is ravaged by typhus. The other doctors have fled. The only one is charge is Sister Margarete, who teaches him how to perform surgery. And a whole lot more! This is a war story and a love story. I could not put it down. I will not spoil anything. All I can say is wOw.😮
I have never worked on creating Christmas gifts in August in my life! And I am doing a little bit of that right now! I am proud of myself. Sorry, you will not be seeing any pictures.😉

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.  Philippians 1:29

I hope you have a wonderful weekend my friends! Take care!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

I love the gift from Lisa, such allot of work went into doing the angel. Why would any one get rid of it. You are lucky to have it. I wonder if the mother died and the daughter could not bear to keep it. We will never know. Love your August stitch and Cally Cat. Big hugs to you both.Lynda Ruth

Your August piece is lovely, Vickie! Do you have them all stitched or are you stitching them this year? I can't remember. The angel piece that Lisa gifted you is fabulous. Enjoy your Friday and the weekend, my friend!

What a beautiful and thoughtful gift. I am so glad you are giving it a home. It did not belong in a thrift shop!! I will have to find that book.

Oh what a great gift, such a beautiful angel and the writing on the back, that's something very special. I'm glad that she thought of you with it and that you got it.
The audio book sounds interesting, I have to see if I can find it with us.
Have a wonderful weekend and take good care of yourself.

Hi Vickie, I always love seeing what you have been stitching. I have some projects I am working on. I took a few days to go watch my grandson show his horse at the state 4-h horse show. I have been reading on my tablet. I joined Kindle Unlimited and can read as many books as I want and the type of books that I want to read. Take care and stay healthy. Hugs and prayers.

Oh Vickie your pink angel is so beautiful and special. I agree with Barb she should not have been in a thrift shop...so happy she has a home with you. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever

What a great gift! I frequently rescue needle art from Thrift shops, Goodwill and estate sales. I KNOW how much work went into creating them and I feel bad (especially for the ones at thrift shops/Goodwill). They are treasures!

Such beautiful stitching!! And your cat doll is adorable! I have a habit of picking up original watercolors from thrift stores. I've never found anyone famous, but I like to think that I've helped someone's art live on...

Your August Rings looks great, I can't believe it's already half way through the month.
Awe, so thoughtful of your friend to think of you when she saw that, and even better that you hung it up straight away. I have saved a couple pieces at a thrift shop before too, lucky for me but also sad to see them there.
