💗🧵✂️🧵💗

Hi friends! On Friday Brian and I took a road trip up North an hour and a half to get this....
💕💗🥰💗💕My 'new' Martha Washington cabinet from Brian. I wanted this for Christmas, which for us Orthodox Christians is this coming Tuesday. He says this is not for Christmas. It is just a love gift. Hooray for me! Thank you Brian❣️

I finished stitching Brian's Prairie Schooler Christmas present and am finishing up making it into a tree. Some of you may recall last year I started a tradition of giving him a cross stitched tree instead of an ornament for Christmas. I will share this finish with you next time!

Oh friends! You are not going to believe what my next project HAS TO BE! Yes, you read that right. HAS TO BE. I promised my brother Jonathan I would embroider signatures next.😭Oh those blasted Bluegrass Bibs! I think there are FIVE waiting for me. Brian asked me if he wants me to say something to him about my hand and wrist and I said yes!!! Oh! Yes. I have not mentioned that here. I have been having arthritis pain that Inever knew a person could experience in their life in my first finger of my right hand! 😱 Now I truly know what it means when you read knife like pain on those medical forms!! And my tendinitis has barely come back in my right wrist also. I have taken to wear the brace I had stored away every day now for several hours. It has greatly helped. I just know stitching on denim will NOT help.
Vickie @stitchingvickie Hi friends! How many of you have read THIS one?! Way back in high school? We only read parts of it
How many of you have read THIS one?! Way back in high school? We only read parts of it in high school. This was the last audio book I listened to in 2019.🎧 I HIGHLY recommend listening to it! Sissy Spacek narrated it and she did a superb job of it! I am so glad I went back and revisited this book my friends.📕 It was voted 'Best Novel of the Century' in a poll by Library Journal in 1999. This book is just so moving. So in your face about prejudice. Just read it!!💖 And yes, I plan to listen to Go Set a Watchman very soon!
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” Psalm 103:2

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

How kind of your husband to buy you such a wonderful gift. I am envious! :-). I wanted an antique sewing box for my 60th birthday but despite looking we were never able to find one in decent condition.
I do hope that you get some relief from th e arthritis pain soon.

I love your chest!! My Mother had one that she kept all her sewing supplies in just like it, I have no idea what happened to it. What a wonderful husband you have to find you such a useful and beautiful gift. I hope your arthritis and tendonitis is better soon, rest really helps, so you might want to postpone sewing on the denium To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my all time favorite books and I read it in High School and need to read it again. I think it's a classic that should be required reading in High School. Do you know it's on the banned book list? Many school and libraries don't allow it...Just unbelievable to me. .

Such a sweet husband to give you that love gift. Fantastic! Looking forward to seeing the tree you made for him for Christmas too. Perhaps you should put off doing those embroideries on the bibs for your brother. You don't want to do damage to your wrist or finger!

To Kill a Mockingbird -- well you already know I read it twice, read To Set a Watchman, and went to the Broadway play of Mockingbird as well. Definitely a must read. Perhaps if I revisit it again, I'll listen to the audiobook.

Well done to Brian on finding and getting you that sewing chest! It is a beautiful piece of furniture. Look forward to seeing Brian's tree once it is finished and gifted. Vickie, I am sorry you are dealing with finger/hand/wrist pain. Glad the brace helps with it though!

Love your new table! Brian is a great gift-giver. Ugh, stitching on denim would not be in my skill set at this time of life.

What a gorgeous cabinet and a special gift. Sorry about the hand and finger pain Vickie. I ordered arthritis gloves online and so far, none have fit properly. Denim has to be difficult to get through even with the proper type needle. Maybe these will be the last!

I have no options for audio books right now but I hope to get a phone soon and start learning!!

That is a beautiful cabinet, it will look lovely in your home. Make sure you share a photo of it in use!
I think it might be an idea to give the denim a miss for a while though. Or teach your brother to sew!

Brian's gift is wonderful and will hold so many great stitchy things! I listened to that book just a few years ago and totally loved it. What a great story and does hit prejudice right in the face.

Awe, love gifts are the best and that one is fantastic! Good for you.
Another book I don't think I've read. Maybe in school, but I can't remember!
