Thanksgiving Bird

Hi friends! Is it cold by you? It is here. Not quite so bad this week. We still have snow on the ground. Not much.

We had another stitch gathering on Saturday. This time it was at a lady named Lisa's house. She was not able to make it last time when we met at Panera. There were seven of us ladies this time, including Barb and Leanne. No picture sorry.😉 We did have a lovely afternoon with delicious soup Lisa made and challah bread I baked, and of course lots and lots of laughs❣️

The winner for the Heart in Hand Thanksgiving Bird chart is: Lynda Ruth!

I have been stitching away on the baby piece for the young couple. This is a picture of it. It is by Durene Jones. I have not stitched the tiny lock of hair. I am waiting to see what color hair baby Luke has. Also, on the back of the blanket, you stitch the date of baby's birth.

I am rather stressed. I am really, really behind in stitching this year. All because I created my own sampler. I just felt the impulse to do it finally and went with it. It took all of September and now.... Well now, I am WAY behind. I do not see how I will get the kids' ornaments made for St. Nicks'. Honestly, as soon as the special linen comes in the mail this week, I am dropping this baby piece. They can wait for it. They do not even know I am making it. I must start the ornaments! I am stressed because I ordered the linen from Ye Olde Stitchery and I am waiting to see if the linen shows up. They say online that you can follow your order because it is tracked. Not so. It has never said anything but being processed. They are one of two places anywhere that I can find that have it. I do NOT need this delay! I wanted to just back out of the order and change colors. They will not let you.

I am sharing with you the last two The Cat Who Books!!!!!!!
Hardcover Short and Tall Tales : Moose County Legends Collected by James MacKintosh Qwilleran Book
As the devoted readers of the series know, Qwill has been working on this book since The Cat Who Tailed a Thief. Now the tales are finally all compiled-legends such as "The Secret of the Blacksmith's Wife" and "The Trevelyan Curse." In Short and Tall Tales, Lilian Jackson Braun introduces James Mackintosh Qwilleran and tells how he collected the tales. Qwill provides a preface for each legend, identifying the teller and the circumstances. And it is no surprise that the tales themselves are entertaining stories that reveal the off-beat "history" of Moose County. Cat Who . . .fans will delight in reading these stories and anecdotes taken from the pages of the books they have come to love.

The New York Times bestselling author of the Cat Who mysteries presents a fantastic collection of feline fiction which includes fourteen short stories about kitties who just can’t keep their whiskers out of trouble... Filled with furballs like a courageous Siamese who bags a cunning cat burglar, a country kitty who proves a stumbling block in a violent murder, and an intuitive feline whose premonition helps solve the case of the missing antiques dealer, this collection will delight cat lovers and mystery aficionados alike! This Collection Includes: Phut Phat Concentrates • Weekend of the Big Puddle • The Fluppie Phenomenon • The Hero of Drummond Street • The Mad Museum Mouser • The Dark One • East Side Story • Tipsy and the Board of Health • A Cat Named Conscience • SuSu and the 8:30 Ghost • Stanley and Spook • A Cat Too Small for His Whiskers • The Sin of Madame Phloi • Tragedy on New Year’s Eve

I am so sad to be done with The Cat Who!! I kid you not! I feel withdrawal over it! I also am not kidding!
I was fitted for a pair of Asics shoes by the district manager of our local Rogan's Shoes. She took over a half hour with me. I wore them on the treadmill and for physical therapy. I told my physical therapist, Luke that they did not feel very good. He told me to go back and tell them that. He said to listen to your feet. I went back and she found me a better fitting pair. I wore them at home all day and the pain in my right foot was almost gone!! Brian returned them for me though. For the price we paid, $120!!!, we ordered them in all pink!! They come this week. It is worth the wait for me.💗 After this pair, when I need a pair next time, we can shop online and find better deals. We wanted to give the district manager the sale. She spent a LOT of time with me and helped me!

The baby present has become really cute. The parents will be very happy about that.
This stuff is annoying, but do not let it stress you.
Hihi, I look forward to your pink shoes, I'm curious how they look.
Have a good start to the new week

Pink shoes... perfect for you, so pleased you will be getting some relief from the pain.
Fun time stitching with your friends.
The baby piece is so detailed, it's beautiful.

That Baby piece is too cute!
I hope you get your fabric soon.
It's odd that they won't let you change your order, unless it was already shipped.

Vickie: The Baby design is adorable.
I am so happy you were able to find shoes that are perfect for your feet, Mike has a problem with finding the best for him, he had to go to the Good Feet Store for inserts, they really work for him.
I know what you mean about being behind in stitching, I too am behind.
I am sure there is a way to cancel the order, they cannot bind you to a on line order, do you have protection on your credit card they may be able to help.
If the order had been shipped maybe that is why, however they may not have entered all the information for shipping, I would call them.

Hugs
Catherine

I understand the panic I'm hearing from you. It seems the holidays have snuck up on us this year. I too feel I am behind and will not get everything stitched this year. I am aiming for the grandkids ornaments first and then we'll see from there...trying hard NOT to stress!
Love the pink shoes--hope they help!

The pink shoes are cute and your PT is right about listening to your feet. Glad the new shoes have helped with the foot pain! I do have one suggestion; once you get the new pair, start looking around for a second pair immediately and get them if you can. Why? Because they might stop making that style or tweak it enough so you have to start back at square one. I speak from experience. The sampler you created and stitched is stunning and I hope you don't let the stress (about being behind) take away from the delight you have for your sampler. Vickie, what linen are you looking for? I would be happy to check my stash for you.

So glad you found some shoes that give you relief from the pain. My daughter was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis last week. She broke her leg in August and couldn't walk on it until late October. Her Dr. told her it's not uncommon to develop p.f. after not walking for that long. I just read your 11/8 post this morning... I LOVE the turkey holders. They are so cute.
Take care and stay warm!

The baby piece is lovely. Great shoes. You always need a comfortable pair of shoes. It's getting colder here. There have been snow in some parts but not around here yet.

The baby design is really cute but I agree, stop for a bit and get the Christmas pieces finished. I am with you ! No local LNS so we are both at the mercy of mail ordering!! That can be frustrating at times!

Hello Vickie,
pink shoes are perfect for you.
A lovely gift for a new baby.
Have a nice week. Manuela

Good for you, those pink shoes! It is soo important to have good shoes. I have very boring hiking shoes due to special soles, but I am so happy at the same time, that I have them! It's the difference between pain and no pain. Now that I stopped working at the crematorium, I can buy shoes in another colour :) No gray and black anymore ...

Your baby kit is wonderful, I have never seen such a pattern before. Have lots of fun with your ornaments!

Hugs and love, Carolien

Vickie, That baby stitch is just darling, reminds me of the Russian nesting eggs!! I'm glad you found sneakers that fit so well, go online and order the same ones asap!! Sneakers are like bras, as soon as I find one that fits well it gets discontinued. That's a shame about the linen, can you call and ask them to check the tracking?

I'm hoping those pretty pink sneakers do the trick for relieving your PF pain, Vickie!

Feeling very stressed here, too. With 20 coming for Thanksgiving on Saturday, my stitching time has been almost non-existent except at night and then I just fall asleep! Oh well--looking forward to the new year :)

I hope that linen is with you now and you are feeling less stressed. Hope the new sneakers are working out as well. I'm constantly looking for comfortable shoes for my problem feet. The baby gift will be adorable!

That's not good about the linen and the fact that they won't let you change. Poor service indeed Vickie. I love the pink shoes:-)

It's cold, it's warm, the normal crazy weather for our area! But darn it, no snow yet.
I'm so glad you had another stitching gathering and hope you have plenty more!
That baby is going to be so adorable, I'm sure they'll be thrilled with it whenever you're able to give it to them.
Don't feel bad for doing your sampler, sometimes you just have to go with what makes you happy and the rest will come later. I'm sure they'll be happy with your ornaments even though they might be a little late. Any news on the fabric?
I'm so happy that you found shoes that are helping you, even better that they're pink!
Hugs to you, sweet Vickie.
