I finally decided last month to make quilted hearts of my own. The idea is to make little hearts, attach a note that says "I need a home."and put the website info on the reverse side. I noticed that many people put a "You are loved." note on the heart. My sewing machine has a basic embroidery feature on it, so I decided to stitch You are loved. into one side of every heart.
Well. WELL. I have to say that this becomes addictive my friends.😊 Here are the first three I made.
I use fabric that I have from leftover projects. How perfect is that?! And I live right in the ❤️ of downtown now, so planting these on railings, bushes, tree branches, etc. has been easy and fun! I have put out 20 hearts so far. Every single one has been taken. Only one has been reported thus far to the website/Facebook, but so what? All twenty hearts have a home! All twenty people know they are loved.😘
This takes a chunk of time to make these. More time than putting them out. But I am glad to do it and make others feel loved. I made three hearts for three of my senior friends that Henry and I visit at the nursing home. We did not hide them. Ha! We gave them directly to our friends. This is what their hearts looked like.
It is supposed to be Henry. |
Let me tell YOU that YOU are loved too!! Not only by me, but by our awesome God.
I want to thank you friends for your OVERWHELMING support and praise of my little poodle doodles!! I was flabbergasted that you actually are impressed. I mean, really? I did not think ANYONE was interested in my poodles. I thought you all were just humoring me. And then I find out that several of you are requesting the pattern?!? And the patterns to come?! Holy Smokes!! The heat is on now!! wOw! Whoa! I am doodling once again girls. Hang on. Here is the February Poodle.
Am I professional or what?!🙄 Ya, right! I am trying. Trying for improvement from the first, January scribbles, okay? I mean, I NEVER, EVER knew ANYONE ON THIS PLANET would be seeing my little designs. So I must improve!! This program does not allow the half stitches to be filled in. Blanc or white is listed BUT I DID NOT USE WHITE!! It insists on listing it! This is little Henry wishing you Happy Valentine's Day. (I have not forgotten that the January Poodle is not charted and on the blog for you! I will work on it!!)
I will be back on Friday friends! Happy Valentine's Day! Thanks for stopping by.😘
Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Using up scraps for these lovely little hearts is such a neat idea. And the ones featuring Henry are just awesome.
Your February poodle is so sweet.
Happy Valentine's Day sweet friend! :) Oh thank you so much for the chart...so very adorable. I love that we now have two sweet poodle designs from you. You are so talented, thank you for sharing your talents with us. I think all of us out here, need to do your sweet poodles as a SAL....just saying. :)
Wishing you a day filled with many blessings sweet friend. ((hugs))
What a perfect post for Valentine's Day!!! I love this idea--it's similar to something that was popular last year here in Richmond. People were painting rocks and leaving them all over the place for people to find. You could either take the rock or leave it; they also had a website to post your find called RVA Rocks. What a sweet way to make someone's day!!!
Happy Valentine's Day, Vickie! What a wonderful post to read this AM! I love your fabric hearts and the idea behind putting them out. Good for you!
Happy Valentine's Day! Love, love, love your hearts. What an awesome way to spread love to your community!
And I missed the post about your designs... I think it's great that you're desigining! I also like your new background. You're on a roll, girl!!
Henry Hearts... *swoon*
Happy Valentines' Day Vickie. Your hearts are so special.
Linda
What a delightful idea! I've seen it done with painted rocks, but never with quilted hearts. You have a very good heart indeed to do that. And so much fun to know they have been picked up. Love those little poodle ones.
And now you are moving into that semi-pro designer world! Thanks for sharing the little cutie charts!
Have a very Happy Valentines Day!
I LOVE your little hearts. You must have loved making them and putting them out. We need more positivity these days!
S.W.E.E.T!!! I love the pink with the white leaves! I have a basic 40 year old machine, no embroidery. I'll bet it's fun to do.
Those hearts are a lovely idea, Vickie! I bet people are pleasantly surprised to find one. We definitely need more of this type of thing in this world. And here is the February poodle - a little Henry, and so cute!
I have been spreading lots of stitching love for a while. It's fun and people really love it. The hearts are cute.
What a wonderful idea!! I know you blessed everyone who received one.
Adorable poodle pattern!! Thank you! I'll definitely be stitching this one up!
Blessings - Julie

Vickie, I have heard of the painted rocks but not the hearts, what a lovely idea!! You have made so many and I can only imagine how many people you made happy with them. This is such a lovely thing to do. I am impressed that you can embroider with your machine too!!
I am going to stitch up your sweet poodle for my friends cubby today as I will be going there tomorrow, thanks for sharing your sweet pattern!! You are talented!! Mary
What a sweet thing to do with the hearts you've made! And your February poodle too! Of course everyone is impressed by your talent! Your poddle designs have character and reflect you so perfectly! Lots of hugs for a sweet friend.

Happy Stitching!
What a sweet idea, Vickie--anything that lets people feel a little love is so needed in this day and age. I have seen this done with rocks (I even found one by my mailbox!) and crocheted hearts, too.
Love your February poodle--I think you will have a lot of fun designing this series in 2018!
I'm sure you "felt the love" on Valentine's Day ♥♥♥
A lovely heartfelt gesture Vickie, how sweet. Your hearts are adorable.
