Main Street Monday

This is the view out my kitchen window. I am showing you the fire department,Company #1. It is housed in the historic City Hall building which was built in 1929. It is built with brick and  lannon stone. There are several lannon quarries in this area of Wisconsin.  I love the parapets and windows. How about that bell tower?

Sewing and praying,
Vickie

Very cool! So "old world" in this modern day. A good stitching companion I think.

Vicki, that is a lovely view of the building and I think the street lights are very nice looking too...have an aged look to them, are they throughout your town?

I hope you enjoy your new home, Vickie. The details you showed in your last post are just beautiful. Still remember the beautiful brass doorknobs in the 1930's-era quarters we lived in when I was a kid.

Beautiful old building. But I have to ask.... do you get the wonderful smells of the bakery wafting up to you?

Oh Vickie....I have been thinking about you and praying for you all weekend! What a beautiful building the fire station is housed in! I love the tower! When Andrew was a little boy he lived fire engines and we would drive out of our way all the time so we could visit our fire station and see if the doors were open so he could catch a glimpse of the fire trucks! I can only imagine how happy he would have been to be able to see it every day!

I think Main Street is an exciting place and I hope you are settling in ok. I feel like I am right there with you since I am stitching Main Street Station for Scott for Christmas 🙂

Sending lots of hugs and love your way my friend!
