So.... I called a few stores around town. I visited a few stores around town. Nothing. No one has a 6x6 white frame. Tick...tick...tick... goes the clock. Ahhhhhh! I need to get this done. Now! Yep. Time to make it a flat fold. I always rely on Vonna's old tutorial for that. I have it memorized.😉 Good thing I have about 825 different pieces of pink material at home to go hunting through.(No, I am not kidding or exaggerating.) I found the perfect pale pink almost right away actually. It might be hard to see here.
I did not decorate with any trims at all. I left this sleek and unadorned. I like it this way.
And? Claire does too!😊 That is a good sign.
Here is where I am at on Swan Lake.
One of the greens in the vines is the called for color, otherwise I had to change every other floss color to make them look even a bit closer to the pattern cover. Grrr! Drives me nuts.
That is my project for this week. More Swan Lake stitching.
I do hope you have a beautiful week my friends. Thank you for stopping by and thank you for your words of encouragement.
Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Your ornament is simply perfect Vickie. Thank God for Vonna's generosity!
Swan Lake is looking good too, must be a pain having to change all the colours but it's worth it.
Good morning, Vickie. Beautiful! I've been known to finish a project as a flat fold for the very same reason! LOL
And what? How many pieces of pink fabric do you have? LOL
Have an amazing day!
Swan Lake is looking good, Vickie. I love the flat fold you turned the hearts into. It is simply elegant. Have an enjoyable week!
I think this is better than a frame and you did a perfect finishing job.
Oh you are so creative! Great save....and of course you have tons of pink fabric....
The double heart piece is lovely and a perfect finish..neat and clean!!! Swan Lake is looking good too!
I like the flat fold finish - it's perfect for this piece. Swan Lake looks terrific. And "hello" to Mr. Murphy!!

Well I would have just freaked out and not known what to do! lol! Your finishing is perfect -- I bet Claire loved it! Your BBD progress looks great too!
Flat fold finishes can come in so handy, can't they? :)
Looks great!!!
So hard to imagine that you did not measure... are you kidding with us?? However, the plain and simple finish definitely suited the piece! Good choice! That little house looks perfect! Hugs!
Good Morning Vickie,
I am finally catching up on blog reading and maybe even emails...lol! I so had to smile while reading about your finish for Claire! Oh how many times that has happened to me! You sure came through though my friend! The finish is just beautiful and you know...I really love it as a flat fold! Vonna's tutorial is a favorite of mine as well! Way to go!
Your stitching on Swan Lake is beautiful as well! I have always loved this one and watching you stitch it makes me smile! Your color changes are perfect!
I hope you are having a good week my friend! I had a treatment on Friday but I am back on my feet and catching up!
Sending lots of hugs and love!
Beautiful gift you made for Claire. I hate when I have trouble finding frames. Your flat fold finish is perfect. I'll have to add flat fold to my list of finishes to learn. I love that you have "about 825" pieces of pink fabric!
The flatfold is lovely - it was meant to be!
Your ornament is lovely, and finished off perfectly :-)
Your flatfold looks beautiful Vickie, a lovely gift. Not a finish I have tried before, perhaps i'll give it go soon.
The flatfold is a lovely finish, what a relief!
Why do the colours vary so much from the cover picture sometimes? Surely dyelots don't change so much? It's a good job you have an eye for colour as it looks lovely.
Oh, I love the flat fold that you made for Claire. It's just perfect and it doesn't need any embellishments or trims.
Nice start on Swan Lake. But the problem with the colours that are so different from the ones on the picture are a pity.
You perfectly finished your sweet stitching into this flatfold, Vicky. I think it looks even better than framed. So pure so wonderful!
Oh, and I love your Swanlake. I am looking forward to more progress and how it turns out with the colors you have chosen.
Sending you a hug, my dear friend
Hilda
A lovely flat fold, Vickie! It is very pretty!
Beautiful start on Swan Lake!
This is so pretty, Vickie, and the flatfold will be much easier to put in different places than a framed piece might have been!
Such a sweet teeny tiny house--you know I love it :)
Love the flatfold finish. Swan Lake is coming along beautifully.
Whoa! Your flat fold is stunningly finished!
The hearts are pretty. Some frame sizes are hard to find. The flat fold is just perfect.
The flat fold is beautiful I love Vonna's tutorials.
Happy Sunday!!
