Guess what?! I am done!! Yes! I gave them to my brother yesterday!
I am now beginning pattern #4 of the AotH series. The best one!!💖😊💖 Pink Hill Manor of course!! I love this one!! Woo hoo! This is like my dream house! 😘 This sampler block is thoroughly pink. Since it is dedicated to my favorite color, I am also dedicating it to my favorite animal. Yep! I am taking out the two birds on the bottom and putting in two poodles. Pictures next time.🐩🐩
Man it feels good to cross stitch again!!
I would like to offer this cross stitch pattern, Be The Brightest by Isabella Abiati of the Primitive Hare.
This is a chart that is ripped out of the current Just Cross Stitch magazine. I will be folding the two pages so they fit into a business size envelope to save on postage. You must be a follower of mine and you must leave a comment on this post telling me you want to be entered into the giveaway. This giveaway is open to anyone of my followers anywhere. I will draw the name of the winner on May 26th.
I had The Jane Austen Project: A Novel by Kathleen Flynn on order from our library and waited patiently for it to be available. It is a new book and I was the first to read it. How sad and disappointed I was then to read it and not like it. The idea the author had for the story is a great one. This novel offers an unusual twist on the legacy of one of the world's most celebrated and beloved authors: two researchers from the future are sent back in time to meet Jane and recover a suspected unpublished novel. Neat, right? Yes, but this author fills the book with sex talk and swear words. Not for me. I don't think it is for Jane either.
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
Psalm 9:10
Thank you for stopping by my friends. I hope you have a great weekend!
Stitching and praying,
Vickie
I showed this picture last time. I had thought maybe someone would recognize this beauty. This is Elizabeth Taylor as a teen. She had a number of poodles as pets over her lifetime. Smart lady!! |

Yeah, you are done with the signatures. Congratulations. It must be such a great feeling to get back to your usual cross stitching. Enjoy it!
Congratulations on finishing the jeans project. Looking forward to seeing the next project.
I'm quite sure your brother had no idea how long it took to do all those signatures. I don't know the background of this jean/autograph story and would love to know...whose signatures??
One thing about cross stitch is that it's very time consuming and non-stitchers have no idea of the labor of love that such a gift entails. I'm so glad your brother was so appreciative. Looking forward to seeing your next x stitching project. Mary
120 hours...that is love. God put a couple of stars in your crown in heaven! :)

You are a good sister and I know all your work is very appreciated by your brother though he probably has no idea how much time was involved. :) Non-stitchers think we just "whip" this stuff out but we stitchers value the time commitment--truly a labor of love! I'm glad you can get back to your more enjoyable needlework!

Huge kudos to you for finishing your brother's overalls! Even though he didn't think to ask "how long?", I know he's thrilled with your dedication to making his dream a reality. As the old time tv announcers would have said, "And now, we return to your stitching in pink." Yay!
As for Liz, all that beauty and talent, and a poodle lover as well!
How are you feeling? Was the Botox as effective as we have prayed? I so hope you find relief. Take care, my friend.
You are an awesome Sister! You need to let him read our comments so that he truly understands how long it took you and that every stitch was a labor of Sisterly Love. I can't wait to see your new x stitch that you are starting. Blessings always sweet friend. ((hugs))

Woohoo on finishing the signature stitching! I think he owes you 120 hours of lawn mowing or some such task!
How wonderful to be back to "proper" stitching now, and pink too!
I will pass on the giveaway, I am expecting my issue of the magazine any time now, it's late this time. At least I have the digital version but it's not the same.
I was so sure it was you in the photo with the poodles last time you showed us!
Passing on the pattern giveaway since I subscribe to JCS. Great job on the signatures on the overalls. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on the next block. Pink is my favorite color too :)
Vickie that is quite an accomplishment!!! And to do it with all of the problems you have had with headaches makes it even bigger. Your brother will wear his coveralls with pride knowing his sweet sister did all of that beautiful work just for him. I just finished a big project like that for a special friend and I know how it feels when you take that last stitch.
Liz Taylor was such a gorgeous woman. Love that photo. I bet you enjoyed seeing the little poodle too. Have a blessed and great weekend. RJ @ stitching friends forever 2

Well done Vickie on completing your labour of love for your brother! We appreciate how hard those 120 hours must have been.
What a great project for your brother (and what a great sister you are)! Looking forward to seeing what's next.:)
Only another stitcher could appreciate the amount of time (and love!) that went in to completing the jeans project, Vickie! Pretty amazing that you finished and I'm sure you are ecstatic to have your time back again. I look forward to seeing your progress on Pink Hill Manor!
What a fabulous job you did on the overalls. How sweet of you to share your talents with your brother who is clearly a huge Bluegrass fan. I haven't embroidered words for over 30 years, and I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been on denim-wow.
Congratulations on the signature finishes. I sense you are glad you are finished. LOL. Looking forward to seeing your next AotH block.
