Hopefully Optimistic

Hi friends! Here is my November Joyful World SAL progress thus far.
Let's see, I had blood work done that shows I am anemic and deficient in iron, magnesium and severely deficient in vitamin D. My doctor actually said my levels are what he sees in nursing home patients. Nice. Any surprise? I have not gone in the sun AT ALL FOR ALL OF JUNE, JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, AND NOW OCTOBER! He said, "Yes, I can see that. Your numbers prove it!" So I am on some super high doses of slow release vitamin D for 8 weeks and I will get my blood rechecked. And my fingernails should start regrowing and quit splitting and cracking and peeling! I am on iron and the magnesium too. I have an appointment with a GI doctor. I had x-rays for my lower back. An MRI will be next for my back.

I am hopefully(and cautiously) optimistic though, because I had two doctors and one PA tell me that all three of these low levels can cause headaches by themselves. They think that I will have greatly reduced or removed headaches once my blood gets fixed up. No one knows how long I have been anemic for. Oh, I pray it is so!!

The winner of the Shepherd's Bush Glory Scissors Fob is Beth! Beth please email me your address. :)

I hope YOU have a SUPER weekend my friend!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Oh i hope the prescribed tablets will sort your headaches out at last.

A blood test earlier in the year showed that i was deficient in vitamin D and i have been taking a supplement since then, I must say that it has helped with aches and pains as well as nail and hair growth and the doctor said that i wouldn't hurt to carry on taking them all the time, so i am, i don't tend to sit out in the sun much either.

Fingers crossed for you x

Keeping everything crossed that this will resolve your headaches and that the back gets solved soon as well. At least things are moving forward for you. Lovely progress on your new start.

Hi Vickie! Your start of the November piece looks good. I hope with the addition of the iron, magnesium, and Vitamin D you will find some of your headache pain reduced. Thinking of you! Have a relaxing weekend.

Yes, anemia is no joke! Had a friend with 'pernicious anemia' that had been undiagnosed for quite a while. I take 50,000 IU of Vitamin D a week, because the cancer treatments did something and I became deficient. So I am borderline osteoporosis... called osteopenia. :( SO GLAD you are taking supplements to get your blood and body fixed up! Hugs!

What a tactful Doctor! At least it's another avenue to explore. Do you get your iron levels measured during pregnancy and ante-natal? I took iron with both my pregnancies so that is one of the first things they would look at if I was ill.
Nice work on the border for Joyful World, can you believe the SAL is almost done?

Oh, these test results could explain a lot! Praying these supplements greatly improve and even eradicate the headaches!
Great start to your November!

Hope this diagnosis helps get your body in balance. Many symptoms and issues are caused by drug induced deficiencies from medications we need and take regularly. These supplements will certainly improve your well being!

I really hope this will help with the headaches! Still keeping you in my prayers!

I hope these supplements help you Vickie. I too have to take Vitamin D as was very low on it.

I hope the supplements help you! My body complains when I do not have enough potassium but luckily I like bananas enough that I can keep it happy. :) Vitamin D is something I need to look into though. I get depressed in winter (SAD) and it is supposed to help with that.

I like the November piece very much; the blues are stunning in it (or is this going to be a poodle?) :)))

Oh Vickie, maybe some answers finally! I pray so. Very nice start on November as well.

Sending big hugs to you and hoping you have a great rest of the weekend!

That is hopeful news, Vickie--if simply taking vitamins and supplements will help with the headaches, that would be wonderful!

Looking forward to November's SAL finish!

Glad you're moving forward at last Vickie. The iron supplement should make a big difference alongside the Vitamin D.

Yikes! I hope you're soon on the mend. Definitely low levels can cause headaches, plus tiredness, so you may feel like a whole new person in a couple weeks.
