Advent Blog Hop

Hello to friends new and old! Welcome! Welcome! Today is the 10th day of the Online Advent Calendar Blog Hop hosted by our friend Jo.

I could not resist THIS ornament as the picture to share this year. For those of you who are new to my blog, this is Mabel. Our sweet Mabel died back in July this year. We still have our two other poodles.

Jo has asked us if we have a tradition for Boxing Day. Many years ago we braved the after Christmas sales. Now, NO THANK YOU! We have three young adult children who all live with us. Two of them are college students. They will be on Christmas break so I imagine they will be sleeping in on Boxing Day! Emerson who is a carpenter, has taken vacation time, so he also gets to sleep in.😉

I am sure you love freebies as much as I do, so I found a new adorable one for Christmas for all of us. CLICK HERE FOR THE FREEBIE

I also have a giveaway going on right now for all of my followers. New friends are welcome! You can find the GIVEAWAY HERE

I am so glad you "hopped" by today friends! Have a blessed, peaceful Sunday.

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

This is THE perfect picture to show for your blog hop post, Vickie. So sweet, little Mabel on the ornament :))
We don't have Boxing Day here, but we have two Christmas holidays. And since I was a child I have always spent the second holiday with books.

Hi Vicky,
I love how you keep the memories of Mabel awake with such a nice subject for the blog hop.
We do not have a Boxing Day, we celebrate Christmas Eve, and visit the families on the other two holidays.
Wish you all the best, Hugs, Martina

Thanks for taking part in the Advent Calendar this year. Of course it had to be Mabel, I expected no less from you!
Thank you for the cute freebie too. I have only recently discovered this designer, her work is so sweet. I cannot help thinking that little Miss Santa needs a poodle on the sledge in front of the tree!

Hello Vickie
That is such a sweet ornament for Mabel and beautifully finished.
I'm not one for boxing day sales either now. A quiet day suits me much better.
Have a good week x

What a treasured ornament you shared, Vickie! Thank you for the link to the complimentary design. Hmmm, I will probably spend Boxing Day with my needle and thread and/or pen and paper.

Vickie this is such a beautiful way to remember Mabel and a great stitch to add to Jo's Advent calendar. I love this ornament. I must come from another planet because I have never heard of boxing day but I'm getting the drift of what it is about. I never go out shopping the day after. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever

I like sales but prefer to do it from the safety (and sanity) of my own home! I can imagine a lot of people sleeping in on the day after Christmas haha.

Awww... Mabel is the perfect Christmas treasure to display. Those furry beings sure take a piece of your heart when they leave us. I enjoyed reading about your Christmas traditions, and since I have a grown son living with us, I chuckled when I read they will all be sleeping in. I'm sure my son wishes he could...but it's off to work for him on Boxing Day. Thank you for the link to the freebie! Merry Christmas to you and your family

Hi Vickie!
Sorry to be late commenting. I didn’t realise I’d missed anyone’s post ..... Sunday and Monday I was racing to finish a stitchery for my Advent Day (today). I have visited you before via other blog hops of Jo’s. Sorry to read that Mabel is no longer with you, but what a gorgeous little ornament to remind you of her.
Love the freebie, thank you.
Hope you have a happy and relaxing Christmas!
Barbara xx
