🐦🐦

Hi friends! I forgot to share this with you!
🍓🐦Berries in a Basket by Homestitchness🐦🍓 Finally! Finally! I can share this finish with you! I have had this done for weeks. I gave it to our daughter Madeleine on her birthday, July 31st, but let her choose the frame. Without knowing it, she chose the same frame on Etsy the cross stitch designer chose. However Jenny, the designer, chose 'Roman Gold Vintage Finish', and Madeleine truly preferred Ivory. I love it. I go to Madeleine many times with color questions with my cross stitch.😉 She graduates this December from University with a Studio Art degree. I stitched this for Madeleine in the first place, because she saw it completed on Carol's IG and Manuela's IG and loved it! She asked me THREE TIMES if I would make it for her! That is a pretty safe bet that your work will be cherished right friends?!

💖🤍💙 I made a little flag pillow for my corner shelf.
I am still stitching a monthly piece for September. I have one other September piece completed and have to finish it off. Then I will begin the wedding sampler.

“The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests the heart.” Proverbs 17:3

Jacob is back living with us. He has been for several weeks. He moved out of his apartment. He will live with us until the wedding in October. Jacob had a 7 year old patient who tested positive for COVID two weeks ago. He did not find that out until his fellow nurse called him at Kristen's apartment late at night, after Jacob's shift that day. Jacob made a decision that night. He decided to not come home to us. He stayed at Kristen's apartment on the couch. Kristen had already gone to bed. She was asleep. He did not wake her to tell her. They see each other every single day. If he had COVID, she would most likely get it. He called us in the morning and explained. He stayed the whole two weeks on the couch with her for a quarantine. Thanks be to God, Jacob did not contract the virus, nor Kristen. It is a bit nerve wracking having a nurse living with you, but he is your son and you love him of course. God bless all the health care workers putting their lives at risk daily.

Take good care of yourselves my friends. Be safe! I hope and pray you have a good week!

Oh Yeah!

Hi friends!  I found the perfect linen in my stash for the wedding sampler. I got it from our friend Gracie a few years ago. It is WDW Baby's Breath. The problem is that the piece is just barely too small. 😖 Blast! So close, but I need to do this right for our dear son's wedding sampler. So I found the same linen online. That was hard to do! It must not be made anymore? Well it has come, and wouldn't you know, it is of course, lighter in color. It is okay. I still like it and it still works. Here are the linen and the flosses I am going to use to make the wedding sampler.
For now I am leaving you in the dark for wedding sampler. My son does know about my blog. I doubt he checks here.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While I waited for linen to come in I stitched another monthly piece.
🍎September freebie by romyfrees.blogspot.com 🍎 I stitched this two over two on 28ct white Jubilee using DMC and VMSS. The fabric shown is the backing material.

🖤💙Oh Yeah! by kateblandford on Instagram💙🖤 I finished this two weeks ago for my brother Mike for his 50th! birthday!🥳 I was able to give it to him last weekend at the sweltering, socially distant outside party.🥵 We all survived. Just barely!🌡️ If you know Mike, you know he says, "Oh yeah!", quite a bit. It's just a Mike thing.🥰

The winner of the Fragments in Time chart is: Barb

Cally Cat

Hi friends!  🐱This is a freebie I stitched for Brian.

I made it to look like Cally, since Brian is her favorite person❣️😸 She loves to dig and crawl under blankets like this. It may not look like it, but this is a magnet. I glued the fabric to white felt and glued the felt to a strong, large, flat magnet. Thursday was Brian's birthday❣️🥳

This was quite a different style mystery for me. I randomly found this book while searching for new audio books. I liked it!
Thirty years ago, Wilde was found as a boy living feral in the woods, with no memory of his past. Now an adult, he still doesn't know where he comes from, and another child has gone missing. No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father -- with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde -- with whom she shares a tragic connection -- to use his unique skills to help find Naomi. Wilde can't ignore an outcast in trouble, but in order to find Naomi he must venture back into the community where he has never fit in, a place where the powerful are protected even when they harbor secrets that could destroy the lives of millions . . . secrets that Wilde must uncover before it's too late.

I have not given away a chart in quite some time. This chart was given to me by our dear friend Robin to share with you.
If you would like it, you need to: be a sidebar follower of this blog, and leave a comment on this post telling me you would like this chart. I will draw a name on Friday August 28th.😁

🍉🍉🍉

Hi friends! I have had this little August piece stitched for a few weeks! I just never sewed it up into a pillow until now. Shameful.
🍉August freebie by romyfrees.blogspot.com 🍉 I stitched this two over two on 28ct white Jubilee using DMC and VMSS. The fabric shown is the backing material. I changed the drinks. One iced tea for Brian 🥤and one lemonade🍋 for me.

📚I just finished listening to these two audio books, and if you have not read them or listened to them, you should! They take place during WWII, they are historical fiction. I just couldn't put these books down. For me personally, I related with little Ada, sadly enough. The first book begins with Ada and her little brother Jamie still living with their abusive mother in London. I grew up with an abusive father. The book sent me back. Anyhow... that will not be the case for all of you, and these truly are very good books. The author has beautifully told Ada's remarkable story.
Hooray! The beautiful floss from Australia arrived yesterday. I am now diving deep in my linen stash and struggling to find the perfect fit.😖

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

I hope you have a super week my friends! Don't let down your guard. Still be careful. I care about you and want you healthy!

💖🤍💙

Hi friends! 💖🤍💙 I made a mini flag pillow. 🥰 I had the fabric in my stash and just decided on a whim to have some fun! I stuffed it with wood shavings. Our son is a carpenter.

📚I listened to this audio book, and I highly recommend it! Just fantastic! Lisa Wingate based this novel on actual "Lost Friends" advertisements that appeared in Southern newspapers after the Civil War, as newly freed slaves desperately searched for loved ones who had been sold away.
I hope you are staying safe in your part of the world my friends. Thank you for stopping by today!

August Rings

Hi friends! Here is my latest monthly finsh.

🌊August Rings by Bent Creek🌊 I stitched this two over two with DMC on 32ct lambswool linen.
I want to share with you a gift I received  from my Instagram friend Lisa. 💗
She actually found this lovely angel in a thrift store! Lisa knows I love pink, and knows I am a fellow Christian, so she asked me if I wanted her. Yes please! Brian and I hung her up in our living room within 10 minutes of receiving her. Do you see the metallics used in her?💗
And look at what is on the back of the frame. Yes, I actually cried.😢

📚I do believe this is THE best audio book I have listened to this year. The story begins in 1914 Vienna with Lucius, twenty-two year old medical student. WWI breaks out, and he enlists, expecting a position at a well-organized field hospital. Instead, he finds himself at a freezing church outpost tucked away high in a a remote valley of the Carpathian Mountains that is ravaged by typhus. The other doctors have fled. The only one is charge is Sister Margarete, who teaches him how to perform surgery. And a whole lot more! This is a war story and a love story. I could not put it down. I will not spoil anything. All I can say is wOw.😮
I have never worked on creating Christmas gifts in August in my life! And I am doing a little bit of that right now! I am proud of myself. Sorry, you will not be seeing any pictures.😉

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.  Philippians 1:29

I hope you have a wonderful weekend my friends! Take care!

💐August💐

Hi friends! Thank you for your very kind words on my Cally doll.🐱 That was something fun and different to make.😊

🌸 Here is August Square Dance by ME!
I am stitching the entire Square Dance series, but the August pattern by Heart in Hand is of beehives. I know so very many of you are into bees, but I am not, so I created my own pattern. I thought some flowers in August would be nice. The placement of the word August is the same, everything else, I just kinda made up and put wherever. I stitched two over two with VMSS and DMC on 32ct mystery evenweave.

And here is the rest of the August corner shelf.

📚I am a HUGE fan of Jennifer Chiaverini. I met her at our Public Library four years ago when she came on a book tour. I have read every single one of her books. I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book. I love historical fiction. I love learning. This story about Abraham Lincoln's widow, Mary, helps you understand her "insanity" and attempted suicide. The story follows the sister relationships through their lives.
I am now stitching up another August monthly pattern. I have a wedding sampler pattern to stitch for Jacob and Kristen. It is mainly floral and their wedding color is burgundy. I found a gorgeous cotton floss by Cotton Garden Threads. The color is Burgundy. The problem is that it is made in AUSTRALIA! They tell me it will arrive by August 26th at the latest. Not holding my breath on that.😕 That is okay. The wedding is October 17th. And as weird as I am with HAVING TO GET MY MONTHLIES DONE OR I FREAK OUT, I can set them aside for this! I did set them aside in the Spring to make hundreds of masks. I will have to make up for two months worth of monthlies at some point because of that!

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

I hope you are having a good day my friends! If you need a prayer, let me know. I am very willing and able to pray for you. I am thankful for you! God bless you my friend.💗

Vickie
