Denny's Angel

Hi friends! Snowy weather here. Cold nights in the teens. How is the weather by you?

I can share this ornament finish with you because it is for a friend from my church.
This is stitched one over one with DMC of my choice on 28ct white Cashel linen. This pattern is a freebie that can be found HERE
Those are little french knots you see for the berries.

The winner of the"Miss Santa" pattern by The Little Stitcher is Martina!

I continue on with physical therapy twice a week. To be honest with you friends, it is not going well. It is excruciating. I still think I have a tear in my shoulder. The x-ray did not show that. I have to continue on with the therapy. If  I do not improve, Leigh tells the doctor and then my doctor orders an MRI.😧As my mom has always said, "Keep on, keeping on." But maybe, you could pray for me? Please? I am not a wimp, and this hurts, so it is BAD. Thank you.

I was blessed by our friend Gracie. I was a fortunate friend who received a special, special gift this year. Just look.

It is one of Denny's Angels. Thank you Gracie. This means a LOT. This angel is so beautiful.

Gracie also gave me another WONDERFUL Christmas gift. She sent me CDs for the
on-line publication of Gift of Stitching from 2009 to 2011. I had a super time looking through all of the CDs the other day. I have now begun a project. I am hoping to get it done for a gift for Christmas for Madeleine. We shall see! She is off of school now for Christmas break. This was unplanned, and is taking up time I should be using to bake cookies, but.... this is an absolutely perfect pattern for my Madeleine, so I am stitching!!

I am so glad you stopped by to visit me today my friends. Your comments brighten my days, and frankly with this added EXTRA pain lately, I sure can use brightening!

Have a super weekend! God bless you!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Dear Vicky, what beautiful little gifts, the pendant looks great, and the little angel is wonderful. He looks so tender.
I pray for you that your pain will soon disappear.
The weather here is very changeable, this morning we already had snow and rain - and now the sun is shining. What to make of it?
Big Hugs, Martina

What a beautiful angel to receive! I really like your Joy tag that you stitched up. Thank you for sharing the link to the complimentary design. I am going to add it to the pile for 2018. Vickie, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I am praying that you find relief from the pain.

How special to receive one of Denny's Angels from Gracie! She is quite talented and a joy to know. I'm praying for your shoulder, for a swift and complete recovery.

A lovely and special gift you received. Your offer is perfectly mounted and finished, and back to over one!

I'm sorry about the therapy and I'm sure my pain is no where near yours, so I can imagine how intense your pain is. Therapy can be a good thing, but they are doing the same in my case. Only AFTER that will they MRI for an answer.

Sorry about the therapy. Who ever said no pain no gain is crazy! I am happy that you like the Angel...they are important to me to share.

Merry Christmas Vickie: Have you seen an orthopedic doctor, Mike was just going to a regular family doctor for so long finally he went to see a specialist he had a torn rotator cuff, surgery same day and so much better no pain, I do wish therapy was working for you, he was getting migraines until he had his shoulder fixed, no more headaches and no more pain.
Love this ornament it is beautiful with the perfect finish, your friend will love it.
Gracie is such a sweet lady to send that Angel to you.

Merry Christmas

Vickie, I am so sorry to hear that the pain is so bad. Hopefully it will subside as it heals. A MRI is probably a good idea however. Of course I will pray for you every single day.

Love your angel from Gracie...that is so special and perfect for someone like you.

I also love the stitch you did for your friend. It is adorable. How do you keep the fabric from fraying? RJ

The Joy ornie is lovely, thanks for the link.
You are so lucky to have a Denny's Angel, they are so pretty. I also have those CDs, can't wait to see which design you have started. Take a look at Marie Suarez's project My Lovely Sewing Tools. It's a WIP of mine I would love to finish.
Sorry to hear the pain is not decreasing.

Oh what a cute JOY finish! That was in my to-do pile, but I didn't get to it.

I hope you get the ornament finished. One way to look at it is , the ornament will be much less fattening than cookies!! Gracie is a very thoughtful giver!

Oh Vickie...

I AM praying for you every single day my friend! Every single day! I know how bad physical therapy can hurt because I went a few months ago for my left arm...complications from surgery...and it was excruciating pain as well. Enough to make me cry...lol! Prayers and hugs!

The ornament that you stitched for your friend is lovely! I know it will be treasured. And the Denny’s Angel is beyond precious! That is just so lovely and so very special! That will be an ornament to hold dear forever!

Sending extra hugs and love to you my friend!

Vicki, The Joy ornament is so pretty and will be loved by the recipient. I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain. You know the shoulder pain could be coming from your neck too. I have had terrible shoulder pain lately and I know it's from those darn discs....I truly hope you get the MRI so they know just where the pain is coming from.

Love the tag. I knew I'd seen the design before, I know I have it somewhere. May be one for next year. Mmmm.

The angel made by Gracie is beautiful. Amazing how a piece of thread can make something so wonderful ... and especially with the meaning behind it.

Sorry to hear the pain has not eased.

Warmed up here yesterday, but in a couple of days we are to be back to the low 20's. Joy to you!

We're still stuck in roller coaster temperatures here. 60s one day, 20s the next. I think my sinuses have given up trying to function properly.

Your Joy ornament is lovely! I really like the fun ribbon too. And both gifts from Gracie are wonderful. Maybe you could convince Madeleine to make the cookies this year while you hide away and stitch haha.

Sorry to hear about the pain! Every time I hear about physical therapy I wonder if it's just code for torture until the body rebels and heals out of self-preservation. I hope things get better for you.

What a beautiful ornament, Vickie! Your stitches are always so tiny and perfect! What a wonderful friend Gracie is - that angel is just lovely! And I can't tell you how sorry I am to read that you are in such pain. You continue to be in my prayers. Sending gentle hugs and healing wishes your way.

The gift tag is really cute--I bookmarked the design for a future stitch session! And that tatted angel reminds me of my mom, because she tatted. It is a gift of love! I am so sorry you are in such pain... and of course I will remember you in prayer. Hugs!

The tag you stitched and finished looks wonderful, such a nice gift.
And what a wonderful gift you received from Gracie - one of Denny's angels. Have fun browsing through the CD with the patterns from The Gift of Stitching. I'm sure you will find lots of nice things that you want to stitch.
