Meg

 Hi friends. It is with deep sadness that I share this news with you. Our cross stitching friend Meg, of Live to Stitch died on November 19th from her metastatic breast cancer. Please join with Brian and I in praying for Meg's soul and her family. 

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.  Ephesians 5:1-2

Thankful

 Hi friends! Happy Thanksgiving! Here is the the Thanksgiving piece I stitched.🍁Thankful by Lindsey Weight of Primrose Cottage Stitches.🍁

I am thankful (HA!) I got one more Fall stitch in. I stitched this two over two on 36ct mystery linen with the called for DMC. The fabrics and velvet ribbon are from my stash. Now it is back to ornament stitching! 🦃🙏🦃🙏🦃🙏🦃 

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.  Psalm 100:4-5

December Swirls

 Hi friends! I have a finish to share with you. ❄️December Swirls by Bent Creek❄️

I stitched this two over two with DMC on 32ct lambswool linen. I changed half the colors on this one. While halfway through stitching this one, I realized something. This house! It looks almost exactly like the house I stayed in the first semester of college. I rented the upper room from a couple in Madison, Wisconsin. They subleased it to me. It was a horrible experience. Me and my dachshund lived up there. The upstairs was just our bedroom. It was SO cold in winter, the windows iced over. I am NOT talking about frost. 🥶 The man, was an assistant professor at Madison. He would smoke pot before he went in to teach! They grew marijuana there in the house! I never knew any of this of course. I also never knew their cats had fleas! They just told me to pick them off of my dog, who of course got them, and feed them to their fish in the fish tank. I found a new place to live at the end of the semester, and got the heck out!!! I have very mixed feelings about this piece! I am finished with this series now however! 🤪🥴😵

I stitched a free Thanksgiving pattern. I hope to get it made into a pillow before Thanksgiving. I am now stitching an ornament for my exchange partner in my stitching group. We are still meeting up through Zoom. We have to take a picture of our finishes and mail them out so that our partners receive them before our next Zoom meeting on December 15th. I will easily have that done. I leave nothing to chance however. You never know what can happen. This is why I am starting now with plenty of time to spare.












📚🕵️God Rest Ye , Royal Gentlemen, A Royal Spyness Mystery by Rhys Bowen Georgie and Darcy are newly married and this will be their first Christmas. They go to spend it with Darcy's batty Aunt Ermintrude in a house on the Sandringham estate. The Queen wants to see Georgie. Georgie is thirty-fourth in line to the throne. Georgie soon learns that the notorious Mrs. Simpson, mistress to the Prince of Wales, will also be in attendance at the house party. The Queen expects her to do a bit of spying. There have also been a couple of strange accidents at the estate recently. I can think of several of my friends who would thoroughly enjoy this book and this series. This series follows the Royal family in history. It stays true to the events that happened to the Royals. And also Wallis Simpson. This book begins with 1935. I strongly suggest you begin with the first book: Her Royal Spyness, 2007. I have enjoyed every single one of the books in the series. Then again, I have said it before, I love every single one of Rhys Bowen's books! I have read them all and have loved them all! 😁
Perhaps you saw on the news the tragedy during the Christmas parade in Waukesha?  That is very near our home. It is in our county. Six people were killed. Sixty-two people were injured. Our Jacob, a pediatric nurse at Children's Hospital, was working when the children came in. He works on the trauma/ surgery floor. 18 children went to Children's. 9 children remain in intensive care. Devastatingly, an 8 year old boy, died from brain injuries. His brother survived his major injuries. This attack on innocent people is just so very, very wrong. While we gather with our families for Thanksgiving, remember to pray for these people. There are many, many, many people affected here.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

🦉November Ric Rac Row🦉

 Hi friends! Let me show you my latest finsh. 🦉November Ric Rac Row by Pine Mountain Designs🦉 

This was stitched one over two on 36 count white linen with DMC and VMSS. I used fabric from my stash. Just December to go and I am done with this series! 🥳

I am still stitching away on Madeleine's Christmas ornament. Almost there!












📚A man with a painful past. A child with a doubtful future. And a shared journey toward healing for both their hearts. This is a fantastic story about faith, science and miracles. This is a story of the heart and about the heart, literally and figuratively. I highly recommend it. I will be seeking out more books by Charles Martin.

I have given myself the injectable Emgality for two months now. It has helped. I was truly hoping it would take the migraines totally away. That is not the case at all. ☹️ I had so very many good months last year and earlier this year where I seemed pain free even, because the Topomax was controlling the daily migraine pain. On a recent visit with the neurology PA, I was very desperate. In our discussion, he put it quite bluntly and, well it really was never explained to me so plainly. He said, "The damage done to you by the injection ( a facet injection I had done in my neck 3/9/2016 to alleviate neck pain) cannot be undone. I believe she hit a nerve. It is like when a person is in a car accident and is paralyzed. They cannot be unparalyzed." I cried. I did not realize this was a nerve problem this entire time. I have an appointment to see a specialist in our area. He is considered very, very good. Very hard to get into. So hard that I made the appointment two months ago. And do you know when I get to see him?? IN JUNE!! CRAZY!

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.  Philippians 4:12-13

 Hi friends! I am still stitching on Madeleine's Christmas ornament whenever she is away at work, so that is slow going. I do have this finish to share.

🦃Happy Thanksgiving Snappers Holiday by Bent Creek 🦃 

Stitched one over two on 36ct Toasted Coconut by Tree of Life Samplings Linen. I changed several colors. I stitched this with DMC and WDW. 

I filled the corners with fiberfill and stuffed the rest with wood shavings. This is my new favorite way to fill my little pillows. As long as I line the front and back with interfacing! I have learned the hard way that wood shavings will work their way through the fabric.

What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Since we have gotten our boosters, AND AUNTIE KATHY IS ALMOST COMPLETLY DONE WITH HER CHEMO PILL TREATMENT!!, we are going to my Mom's house for Thanksgiving Day! 😁 We have not been going to Mom's at all for months because of Auntie Kathy. She is doing well, thanks be to God! I will bring the sweet potatoes🍠 and mashed potatoes 🥔to Mom's. Are you cooking the entire meal or just a dish?

Rolling Into November

 Hi friends! I thought I would show you my 🦃November Cubby Shelf Display🦃

These are all stitched over one. Except the little November pillow on top. The chrysanthemum wreath in the center bottom may be my favorite wreath from the Trésors de boîtes à couture series. It is stitched one over one on 25 count Zweigart white Dublin linen.

This pattern is found on page 11 of JCS Christmas Ornaments Issue 2021. I stitched it with the called for DMC, except I used 936 instead of 935. I thought the green was too dark. This matches the picture now. I stitched it on ivory 32ct linen two over two as called for so it would fit in the exact same frame used in the magazine, which I purchased from my Hobby Lobby at 50% off. 😊 This is Jacob and Kristen's Christmas ornament for this year. 💞

I finished secret Christmas gift stitching for a longtime blog friend. I need to make it into an ornament now. 😊 I have started a Bent Creek Thanksgiving piece. 🦃

We got our flu shots this week. Do you get the flu shot? We are getting our COVID booster today. Did you get yours? Are you going to?

📚In 1941, after a drastic mistake at a London hospital, nurse trainee Bridget Kelly has been compelled to take a position to care for 10 young evacuated children who are being sent to Greenway House in Devon which also happens to be Agatha Christie’s holiday estate. The other nurse arrives late, and also happens to be named Bridget Kelly. She appears to take her position lightly and with indifference. There are unexplained deaths in town, and Bridget slowly figures the strange mysteries out. Ten children really did stay at Greenway. The author interviewed one of them and used her information throughout the book. At the end of the war, she thought her biological parents were adoptee parents as she didn’t know them.
