Emerson

 Hi friends!  I want to share with you the Christmas ornament I have made for Emerson this year.

This is a free pattern I found while searching for carpenter cross stitch.🔨 Unfortunately I did not save the site. I altered the pattern a little. He was wearing a hat. Emerson does not. I stitched this two over two with DMC on 32ct mystery linen. I bought the wood pattern material from JoAnn. The twine, ribbon, and nails (ha!) are all from stash.🧰 I thought the nails hot glued in place of a bow, made it a bit more "manly".💪 I am rather pleased with this finish.

The winner of the pattern, 🐄Statehood Splendor Series 41st Wisconsin🧀by Thread Milk Designs, is:
Marilyn!
Marilyn, the pattern is on it's way to you!💗
I have a small pile of pieces that need to be finished now. I really, really prefer stitching to finishing! I force myself to finish though. I do not want pieces lingering in a drawer somewhere. I will finish the one I am working on now and then tomorrow I will start finish work. On at least one. HA!

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.  1John 4:18

Thank you for your lovely comments my friends. They are the only thing keeping this old blog of mine going.

I do hope you have a wonderful week. Happy Stitching! Till next time.

More Finishes

 Hi friends! Let me show you what new finishes I have.

🩰La Pirouette is complete! I finished it as a flat, little ornament/pinkeep.

I stitched this one over two on 45 count white Florence linen with DMC 824 & 817. I found this pattern on the Antique Pattern Library. I think this ballerina is so sweet.

We went to Mom's recently and she had found some very old pictures. Among them were a couple of me in my leotard in my bedroom, perhaps after a class? I must have been thirteen years old. I think the picture will stay out on my dresser shelf with La Pirouette.🥰

🐄Statehood Splendor Series 41st Wisconsin🧀by Thread Milk Designs.

I stitched this two over two with VMSS Valentine Red on Colour & Cotton Warm Sienna 32ct linen. The finishing fabrics and the vintage button are from my stash.

Would you like to stitch this Wisconsin pattern? If so, you need to be a sidebar follower of mine and leave a comment on this post stating you would like the pattern. This giveaway is open to all of my followers world wide. You do need to leave a comment WITH your email address though. I cannot give this pattern to someone who I cannot contact! I will draw a name on Monday September 25th.

🐄❤️ 🐄❤️ 🐄❤️ 🐄❤️ 🐄

I am now stitching the November mini stocking.

 So we may boldly say:

“The Lord is my helper;

I will not fear.

What can man do to me?”  Hebrews 13:6

Little Flossie is 6 months months old now. She is getting spayed on Wednesday this week.

I hope you have a wonderful week my friends! Thank you for stopping by and leaving me comments. You are the only reason I keep this blog going.

The Finishing Has Begun

 Hi friends! We are halfway into September and I have yet to share with you my September displays!!

🏫September Cubby Shelf Display 🏫 Almost every one of these are stitched over one.

🏫🍎🏫🍎🏫🍎🏫🍎🏫🍎🏫

🍂🍄September Corner Shelf Display🍄🍂
I continue to stitch up monthly BBD stockings. 🍁Autumn's Bounty🍁from October Harvest by Blackbird Designs.
I stitched this one over two on 36 count cream linen with the called for DMC. I am afraid the overcast day I took the picture does not help show the neutral print fabric on the back, that I also lined the stocking with.
🍁🐿️🍁🐿️🍁🐿️🍁🐿️🍁🐿️🍁
I stitched Spring Green by Blackbird Designs to commemorate the trip Brian and I took last month to Country Sampler in Spring Green. 🤩
Instead of stitching mine on the called for 36ct fabric, I stitched mine over one on 25ct Vintage Butter Pecan evenweave. I used most of the called for DMC, plus the called for WDW Baked Apple, but mine is much darker than the one Barb stitched with!
I also replaced the WDW Sand with VMSS 1795 Sampler Pink. 💗 I backed it with Moda from my stash.
I tea dyed this antique rick rack I bought at an antique mall a few years ago.
I never opened the package until finishing day. First of all, I am thinking Wright no longer has that guarantee??
And secondly, check out the offer for fabric scraps.
💗🐦💗🐦💗🐦💗🐦💗🐦💗
I am continuing to work through my finishing pile. I am almost there! I will share more finishes with you next time. Including Emerson's Christmas ornament. I cannot share that on Instagram, as he follows me there. 😉

Have you begun Christmas stitching yet? Today is our local stitch club meetup day. I am taking along Jacob and Kristen's ornament to stitch on. I will most likely not get far. Too much chatting. Ha!

Surely He has borne our griefs

And carried our sorrows;

Yet we esteemed Him stricken,

Smitten by God, and afflicted.

But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,

And by His stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray;

We have turned, every one, to his own way;

And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.  Isaiah 53:4-6

I hope you have a wonderful day my friends! Take care. Thank you for stopping by. And thank you for your sweet comments. If you leave a comment, be sure to leave your email address so I can reply to you.

Spring Green

 Hi friends! I have some fun events to share with you all. 😁

💕These ladies right here, are my wonderful friends.💕

We are The Cross Stitcherhood and we gathered together on August 24th to honor our friend Leanne, on her birthday. That was our second Leanne's Legacy Retreat Day. We shared our finishes with each other, also unloaded our stash with each other, played a game 👶, and stitched, ate and laughed all day.

🩰La Pirouette was my new start on LEANNE'S BIRTHDAY.

I found this pattern for free online in the Antique Pattern Library. We all started new pieces to honor Leanne.💕 Why tic tacs? I might be addicted to eating them while I stitch.🙃

🚗Road Trip with Brian last Saturday! In the car stitching project: Spring Green, from Ooh la la by BBD.

I am still stitching on this. I am almost done now. I should finish it this weekend. Stitching goes slower these days because of Flossie.

The first stop on our road trip was Lynn's of Madison, where I bought these six flosses.

 The three on the left for a BBD project and the three on the right for "Flossie colors". Do you like my "Flossie Card"? 😉 We stopped for lunch in Spring Green and then.... The Country Sampler.

My purchases from Country Sampler. A beautiful tote bag, Vintage Country Mocha linen for a project with a few of the needed flosses and two more "Flossie Colors". The last picture is from the bargain basement. Did you know they had a basement at the Country Sampler with discounted items? I bought The Primitive Hare's 2022 Cross Stitch Calendar and a paper mache box.

The silver poodle earrings were purchased for me by Brian at the local restaurant's gift shop. 🥰🐩

I had wanted to visit The Country Sampler for years. I am so very glad we finally went. It is an amazingly wonderful store. It is so beautiful inside. So wonderfully decorated. The women are truly helpful and just so kind.

Once I finish Spring Green, I will get back to La Pirouette. I also have October's stocking stitched up and waiting to be finished.

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.  Hebrews 13:2

I hope you have a lovely weekend my friends! It is going to be a very hot one here! Will you have nice weather?? I hope so.🥰 Take care. Till next time!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie
