October's Marigold

Hi friends! Here is my latest finish.

🍁October's Marigold🍁by Cottage Garden Samplings. I stitched this one over two on 40ct lambswool linen with DMC and VMSS. I totally changed this pattern, as we do not celebrate Halloween. I redesigned the left half of this pattern.

You can see from in last picture, the original pattern and see how much I changed it!

I thought the Bible verse was very appropriate for autumn. Well, for always! I could have done better with the spacing of the words, but oh well. I used various French freebies for the autumn leaves. I am making flat finishes out of all twelve months and mounting them with a magnet to this finishing piece I got from Hobby Lobby.

🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁

I am now stitching up one of the Redwork Pears from Annie Beez Folk Art. Our friend Lisa from our stitch group purchased this pattern for all of us on our retreat day with Annie recently.

May I ask you to pray for my Mom? She had a total knee replacement 8 days ago. She is at a rehab facility working hard on the exercises and gaining strength. She is in quite a bit of pain, but that is to be expected. She will be returning home this next week. Thank you very much my friends.

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me."  Luke  9:23

Thank you for stopping by sweet friends. I appreciate your friendship as always. Enjoy these last days of autumn.

Annie Beez Folk Art Retreat

Hi friends! Oh the wonderful day our cross stitch group, The CrossStitcherhood had Wednesday at Beatha Ur Farm with Charlie and Sue in gorgeous East Troy! They are beekeepers and they talked to us about their hives and honey, and home. Their 1868 farm home is beyond gorgeous!! Annie Beez Folk Art and her daughter Isabel were our guests for the day.

Annie has a trunk show that is out now, but she did bring quite a few pieces to show us, including a new one never seen by anyone. Dear, sweet Lisa bought Annie's Redwork Pears for all of us!! I won't be stitching up a pear right away, but I do have fun plans for the pears!

I did not get a lot of stitching done on Wednesday. 😉 Lots of good conversation though!

🍁🐝🍁🐝🍁🐝🍁🐝🍁🐝🍁

I am now stitching on my October monthly piece.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.  2 Timothy 1:7

Thank you for stopping by today my friends. I am very glad you did. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. It is going to be unseasonably warm here. NICE!

A Savior Has Been Born

Hi friends! It is about time I share Jacob and Kristen's finished Christmas ornament with you!

💖A Savior Has Been Born💖by My Big Toe Designs. This pattern can be found on page 64 of the 2017 issue of the JCS Christmas Ornament Issue. And yes, I changed floss colors. HEY! I CAN'T HELP MYSELF. IT IS A DISEASE OR SOMETHING! 🤷 I did use the called for GA Moss. 😊 The pretty burgundy ribbon was given to me by Stasi. Thank you Stasi! And thank you Vonna once again for your tutorial on how to rusche ribbon on a finish. Mine does not look as good, but it looks good enough for me! I stitched this one over two on 36ct light exemplar linen as called for.

🍁Pumpkins & Pins Freebie🍁

This sweet, little, free pattern has been printed off and sitting in my stash for YEARS! I was looking for a fast, small piece to stitch that would fit in the cubby. This is perfect! You can find this pattern at: http://makestuff-behappy.blogspot.com

I stitched mine two over two on 35ct tea dyed linen with DMC of my own choice ( I did use the called for 3012) and VMSS 1795 Halloween Orange.

🧡🤍🧡🤍🧡🤍🧡🤍🧡🤍🧡

I am stitching away on my secret Christmas piece for my exchange partner in our local cross stitch group. We will meet up before Christmas in December, but I want to have it done and completely finished well before then.

Do you take place in gift exchanges? I rather enjoy it. I do have to start early though, since I have quite a few friends I make gifts for Christmas.

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.  For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3: 1-4

I hope you have a wonderful weekend my friends. I am so very glad you came by. It is so nice that you leave me comments over the years. 😘🤗

October Stitches

Hi friends! 🍁October Cubby Shelf Display🍁 Most of these are all stitched over one. The Native American couple are a new addition to the cubby shelf. They are a freebie pattern. I stitched them with DMC of my own choice two over two on 32ct Aqua linen.

🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁

This is my latest addition to the cubby shelf.

🦃Tom Turkey🦃from The World of Cross Stitching Magazine. Sorry I do not recall which issue. It is from last year though. I printed it off right away, he is so cute! I have a free online issue of the magazine courtesy of our library. 😊👍 I did tweak the colors a bit. I stitched him two over two on 32ct mystery linen. He is perfect for the cubby shelf!

🦔🍄October Corner Shelf🍄🦔I added different pieces to the corner shelf and took away a few. More autumn vibes. 💛🧡

Now I am going to begin stitching a gift for my friend for the annual Christmas Gift Exchange for our local cross stitch group. We drew names when we all met up in August on our retreat day.

Next time I will share with you Jacob and Kristen's ornament. I am very pleased with the finish.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.  Ephesians 2:10

We are headed back to the Russian Orthodox Church on Sunday for worship. Father Vasyl is going to be back in town to celebrate Liturgy, so Brian and I want to be there. We love Father Vasyl. Had he not left that church to go to another church/state, we would most likely still be at that church. We left because the new priest there barely speaks English.

I hope you have a restful weekend my friends. I thank you for your wonderful comments and wishes on our anniversary.

Vickie

THIRTY YEARS!

Hi friends! I can show you one of the things I have been creating.

💕Two Hearts Tag💕by Blackbird Designs. I gave this to Brian for our thirtieth wedding anniversary which is today!

I stitched mine on mystery 30ct linen and I changed the called for DMC.

Madeleine snapped the picture of us at our local water falls after church yesterday morning. We had the kids over for lunch.

💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

I am now stitching Jacob and Kristen's Christmas ornament.

Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Romans 15:5-6

Have a stitchtastic week my friends! 😘
