Hello Spring

Hi friends! I finished the gift for my mom's birthday coming up next month. It features her cat "Cutie".

This is a freebie you can find RIGHT HERE Have a look around the site. There are many freebies available that are not all cat related.  I stitched this one over one on light blue 22count evenweave with DMC. I finished this as a flatfold. I used pale blue crepe from my stash as the backing material and finished off the edges with pale blue satin ribbon.
Several of you wanted to see my pink pansies. Well here you go!
I have a cross stitch chart to giveaway. Hello Spring by Nicoletta Farrauto of Nikyscreations is a chart that is ripped out of the current Just Cross Stitch magazine. I will be folding the two pages so they  fit into a business size envelope to save on postage. You must be a follower of mine and you must leave a comment on this post telling me you want to be entered into the giveaway. I will draw the name of the winner on Monday, May 1st.
I had planned on going back to work on Forever Be My Always by Emma Congdon.  However, I absolutely, positively MUST work on my brother Jonathan's overalls. I have to embroider those signatures. Have no idea what I am talking about? I don't blame you! I posted about the overalls and the whole YUCKY project a year and a half ago HERE. The last time I posted any progress was HERE. You can see what the embroidery is going to look like on that post. There are 31 autographs!!!!!! I have precisely one and a half done!!!!! Just what kind of sister am I? 😞 This is NOT going to help my headaches. NOPE.

So, unless my head explodes, I shall be back at the end of the week. Take care of yourselves til then my friends! I am thankful for YOU!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Your mom will love that gift. I almost forgot about your brother's overalls! Show an update soon. Thank you so much for your kind words on my blog.....a true friend.

I know your mom will love your stitching of her Cutie. I had forgotten all about your brother's overalls but I can understand why you hate working on them since the material isn't the easiest to work on. Good luck!

I would love to be entered in your giveaway. I was lucky enough to meet Niky last month at our new local cross stitch store and she was a delight. She helped me locate her charts, pick fabric and just chatted away like we were old friends....such a sweet lady!

That is such a lovely gift for your mom. I'm sure she will love it. You pansies are great. I'm having a problem with slugs eating the flowers on my pansies. I have to check them every morning. I almost always find one munching away!

Your Mom's piece is adorable! The overalls with signatures is a very cool idea and I'm sure your brother will greatly appreciate it. However, I know how hard it is to motivate yourself to work on something that doesn't "call" to you. I started something similar when I had my daughters friends sign their names on an American Girl quilt at her 10th birthday. That was 29 years ago and I've never completed it!!!

I love your gift for your mom Vickie! It is just lovely. I love the cat in this one with the sunflower and little fence...hmm I think I will add this one to my stash...lol. Beautiful job in finishing it too!

I went back and reread about the overalls...what a good sister you are! I am not sure I would have the patience for that...lol...but you will do a beautiful job and actually it is a very clever idea and will be a wonderful momento when it is finished! I too have had stitching projects along the way that weren't exactly enjoyable so I balanced them out with something I loved...just like you are doing...grins...and was always happy to reach the end...lol!

Sending lots of hugs and love!

Thanks for the link to the freebies. Did you see the monthly wreaths? Only 20x20. You could stitch them on 40 count over one and they'd be half an inch square!
She did have a chart of dog faces but none of them looked like a poodle to me?
I do remember those autographs and how much you loved working on them!

The piece for your mom is so cute, I like the finish you chose. Your pansies are lovely. Praying that your head does not explode (well, not literally, but I am praying for pain relief and healing from headaches!)

I love your gift for you Mom! I think it's so special that you include her kitty in her gifts. You're so sweet! I can understand your dread of doing those overalls but you can do it! When I have to do stuff like that, I try to tell myself that I'm doing it for Jesus, too, and that propels me along. I'm cheering you on!

Many blessings - Julie

The gift for you mom is adorable and I'm sure you mom will love it! Thanks for the link to the freebies. I went back and read your posts on your brother's overalls. I chuckled because one of my very first embroidery projects for myself was embroidering on my jeans. I also went to many area fair concerts one summer and got signatures on my favorite denim jacket. Those signatures were also done in sharpie marker, lol. And, yes, I embroidered them on my jacket too. I really hope you the signature embroidery doesn't make your headache worse. Maybe work 15 or 30 minutes on it at a time and eventually, they'll all get done :)
