Hi friends! I forgot to share this with you!
🍓🐦Berries in a Basket by Homestitchness🐦🍓 Finally! Finally! I can share this finish with you! I have had this done for weeks. I gave it to our daughter Madeleine on her birthday, July 31st, but let her choose the frame. Without knowing it, she chose the same frame on Etsy the cross stitch designer chose. However Jenny, the designer, chose 'Roman Gold Vintage Finish', and Madeleine truly preferred Ivory. I love it. I go to Madeleine many times with color questions with my cross stitch.😉 She graduates this December from University with a Studio Art degree. I stitched this for Madeleine in the first place, because she saw it completed on Carol's IG and Manuela's IG and loved it! She asked me THREE TIMES if I would make it for her! That is a pretty safe bet that your work will be cherished right friends?!
💖🤍💙 I made a little flag pillow for my corner shelf.
I am still stitching a monthly piece for September. I have one other September piece completed and have to finish it off. Then I will begin the wedding sampler.
“The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests the heart.” Proverbs 17:3
Jacob is back living with us. He has been for several weeks. He moved out of his apartment. He will live with us until the wedding in October. Jacob had a 7 year old patient who tested positive for COVID two weeks ago. He did not find that out until his fellow nurse called him at Kristen's apartment late at night, after Jacob's shift that day. Jacob made a decision that night. He decided to not come home to us. He stayed at Kristen's apartment on the couch. Kristen had already gone to bed. She was asleep. He did not wake her to tell her. They see each other every single day. If he had COVID, she would most likely get it. He called us in the morning and explained. He stayed the whole two weeks on the couch with her for a quarantine. Thanks be to God, Jacob did not contract the virus, nor Kristen. It is a bit nerve wracking having a nurse living with you, but he is your son and you love him of course. God bless all the health care workers putting their lives at risk daily.
Take good care of yourselves my friends. Be safe! I hope and pray you have a good week!
Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Your basket looks so pretty and just like Carols and Manuelas, it's perfect in the frame. Your daughter really has a good eye for it. And a nice mom who has now stitched it for her.
Oh dear, I can well imagine the shock moments with you, but everything went well. Jakob reacted really well here.
I wish you a nice week, Hugs Martina
I'm glad everyone is safe, it's such a worrying world just now. Great finish and a perfect frame, your flat pillow is lovely

Hi Vickie,
I love both your finishes, they are so cute!
I am happy the virus stayed outdoors.
Take care and enjoy your day!
Hugs Carolien
Vickie, the strawberry basket piece is so sweet and framed perfectly. Glad Jacob is okay and hope he continues to stay that way. Have a great week!
It's a beautiful piece.

I love the fully finished piece you stitched for Madeleine, Vickie. So pretty! I am glad that Jacob and Kristen didn't come down with the virus. He continues to be in my prayers during this time as you and the rest of the family are. Thinking of you. Have a good week!
Hi Vickie, I have been watching to see what you made Madeleine for her birthday...I almost asked a couple of times, thinking maybe I missed it. I love it! Let's call it Madeleine's Cardinals:) The frame is perfect. My mother is the one who always had a sense of color, and I relied on her a lot to put two colors together, that I would have never thought of. I used to enjoy taking her with me to select a frame, she could always see the beauty of the matting and frame with a certain stitched piece, what a gift. My daughters seem to have that gift too. I pretty much have to see other people's ideas, to be able to put things together. I am so glad your son is ok. I have found Psalm 91 to be a big comfort in this time. Thank you so much for sharing, and many blessings to you and yours my friend...
Such sweet finishes!
I've been thinking about your son throughout this. My son is in the OR so any patient there has recently tested negative. Jacob is on the front lines. Please thank him from me for his service!
What a beautiful gift for your daughter!
That is the sweetest design of the cardinals and strawberries and the frame is perfect! I like your flag pillow! It is fun to see all your variety of crafts! I'm glad your son remains well. Have a great week Vickie!
Vickie, I absolutely love the cardinal stitch and how you framed it. I also bought and made that pattern and love it. Mine will be an ornament for a cardinal tree I'm making.
God bless Jacob. I'm so happy he did not catch Covid. There are so many worries today. RJ
Love your daughters gift and the frame looks great.
The little pillow looks great too.
Have a fab week hugs.
Vickie, Madeline must be over the moon with your gift. It's perfectly framed, all the attention is on that gorgeous stitch. I'm so glad to hear that Jacob protected you from possible getting this dreaded virus and he is ok too. Sweet pillow too!!!
I just love how this sweet cardinal piece turned out, Vickie--it is perfect in the ivory frame and I'm glad that my finish was so well loved by Madeleine :) Hope she had a wonderful birthday and I wish her an exciting year ahead. I can't believe she is graduating already--where does the time go?! Love your sweet flag pillow, too :)
What a relief that Jacob is safe from the virus. I'm sure he and Kristen are counting the days until the wedding next month!
The cardinals look wonderful, that is a lovely design, I can see why she was so keen for you to stitch it for her!
Glad that Jacob didn't come down with the virus. I expect they test all the staff regularly to make sure they are safe. He is doing such a worthwhile job.
Thank the good Lord that you are all ok, what a wise son you have in not coming to stay with you and your DH. The piece you made for your daughter is just beautiful. I love cardinals but they do not exist in western Washington. Guess they never made it over the Cascades!
That is a beautifully stitched and framed piece, especially since you know that Madeleine wanted it so much!
I love your little pillow, very cute.
I'm glad Jacob and Kristen are both okay, that must have been a little scary for you all. Wow, now you can say they are getting married NEXT month!
The basket looks so sweet and I'm glad your daughter will treasure it:D
I have soo much admiration for the health workers; I could NEVER do what they do..! Glad your son was ok, and I hope that your family will continue to stay healthy <3. Have a nice weekend and say HI to the dogs!
Beautiful birthday stitch, Vickie! I'm so glad your daughter asks for stitchy goodness for her birthday.
I absolutely love the flag pillow you made. I've never seen anything like it. I love the various red and white fabrics as the stripes.
Scary stuff, this Covid. When someone you know (or you) comes in contact with someone who is sick, it sure does make it real... and fast. Stay healthy, sweet friend.
What a relief for you that neither your son nor his girlfriend got Covid.
Love your stitching and the cushion.
