A Wee Bit of Stitching

Hi friends! I did get into the doctor. She wants me to have an EMG, a nerve test. Unfortunately, I can't get that done for a month! I am on a cancellation/call list with this neurologist. The doctor said she wants me to see the neurosurgeon, but he always wants an EMG done first. She thinks I may have carpal tunnel syndrome going on. She said the nerve test and the neurosurgeon will be able to determine if it is the wrist or something pinched in my neck. I have pain and tingling that does go up my arm and shoulder into my neck almost daily lately. I believe it starts with the wrist. I showed her the slight lump on my right wrist compared to my left.  She said it could be a cyst causing the carpal tunnel problem. So now I just wait. sigh. And take tylenol. That is it. puh! I do wear the brace to sleep, and occasionally during the day and it feels much better in the morning. But the pain increases during the day, every day.

I weaned myself off of Mobic. It was for pain(with my SI joint), but I recalled the pain doctor told me it was truly for rheumatoid arthritis. That could have been helping me with my wrist pain for a while. The doctor agreed. She also agreed with me that the headaches, upset stomach and the night leg cramps from Mobic are NOT worth it for me. So I have removed another prescription! Yay! By the way, my hip pain remains low mainly. Rainy weather brings the pain up.

Today I began STITCHING, yep!, a gift. It is very small and I am not pushing it with my wrist. Just stitching 10 minutes at a time. Let me tell you, I am not getting much done with this method! It is frustrating to not be able to stitch freely at this time. I have gifts I want to make!

I read The Choosing by Rachelle Dekker. A good book! It was her first. She is the daughter of my favorite author, Ted Dekker. It is obvious someone grew up reading her father's stories. There is a dark and twisted character in this book. It seems she does not have her father's awesome ability to give you a total surprise ending though. I figured out what would happen in the end very, very quickly into my reading. That is always a little disappointing to me. However, I still enjoyed this book. I look forward to the continuation of the story when the next book comes out in the spring.
My two latest reads. Father and daughter authors!

I have a BIG, HUGE SUPRISE! Oh! I am bad! I am making you come back to read my post tomorrow. ;) tee hee! It will be worth it my friends!

Thank you for stopping in today my friends. I know I have not really had stitching to share with you. I appreciate that you still stop by to "see ME". :)

Reading, stitching and praying,
Vickie

I do hope you'll be able to find some answers, Vickie. I had my SI joint adjusted yesterday... it isn't even supposed to be movable... but mine is and it causes me all sorts of problems when it acts up!! I feel a little bit of your pain. :( I do hope you'll find out what is going on with your wrist and arm. That is no fun!!

Looking forward to your surprise!

Hi Vicky,
I really wish you all the best for a sooner and better healing of your wrist pain. The earlier you know what it exactly is, the better. I pray for you, that you will get an earlier appointment for the EMG!
Nevertheless, enjoy your days!

Hugs
Hilda

It makes me sad to hear your pain is still so bad, Vickie, but hopefully the EMG will help figure out the next course of treatment. Better to be stitching 10 minutes at a time than not at all, I guess!

Looking forward to reading about your surprise :)

So sorry you're still having such a bad time with the pain. I hope you're able to get an earlier appointment and get some answers. It's always better to know exactly what's going on. It's good that you can stitch a little though. Take care of you!

Getting in to see "special" doctors continues to get more and more difficult. My doctor has recommended a heart workup and the first appointment I could get is mid November. Their recommendation is that if it gets worse, go to the emergency room. How sad is that! blessings, marlene

Dear Vickie,
listening with your hand is unfortunately still not so good . I hope you get soon an appointment with the neurologist that you can find out more accurate . It's never nice when one knows nothing exact . And do not worry , I also like to read your posts whether with or without embroidering . Wish you all the best and send you a comforting prayer .
Greetings Your Sandra

Vickie, I wish I could twitch my nose and your pain would be gone but unfortunately that just can't happen. One word of warning about surgery on your arm/hand. My father had that done and ended up with a useless hand so just be careful and think alot about it.
Just remember all projects start with just one X and they end the same way....don't count the minutes in between them.
Blessings

Gosh! Vickie, I wish you well and a speedy recovery. I hope what ever test that you had to go through, nothing serious will come out from the test. Just take it easy for awhile.

Mabel is cute, it shows her bed is comfy :D

I'm behind, I'm behind! Just wanted to say -- a month? Sigh. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this pain, but I'm so glad to hear your hip pain remains low. That's a good thing!

So bad that you have to wait for such a long time before you can have that EMG. And I hope for you that the pain doesn't get worse. At least the pain on your hip hasn't become worse.
