Blessed

Hi friends! Brian and I will be going to our first Orthodox Good Friday/Holy Shroud Service today at noon.

He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
Isaiah 53:7

You may recall our sweet friend Annette gifted me with pink fabric for the Epic Pink Charm Quilt. I sent her a small gift. I forgot to take pictures. She said I could use hers. :) Thanks Annette!

I used a sweet, pink fabric from my stash and 32ct Angel Blush linen. I stitched the "A" with DMC and the cross with silver DMC. Both are over one.
The epitaphios ("winding sheet"), depicting the preparation of the body of Jesus for burial.
I had hoped to share an Easter stitch with you today. Not done. It is over one on 32ct. I have felt for a long time this incredible urge to create many pieces one over one. I would love to start an over one frenzy. For right now it is the Easter/Pascha stitch. Then I will be making a few more gifts. :) Tiny stitching and a cool idea will have to be on hold for now.

Stitching and praying,
Vickie
(A cute "basket" full of puppies. Not for the correct holiday though. Any of my friends know what this says? I do! ;)

Hello Vickie

I love the bookmark and Angel Blush linen sounds divine!
I am stitching a project which has some one over one but I'm using 28ct. It makes my eyes boggle.
Hoping you find peace at your service today. x

Over one looks amazing but I find it hard to do. You find the loveliest of little photos to end each post Vickie.

I hope the Service went well for you, very moving I should imagine.
Lovely stitched gifts for your friend.
I struggle these days with 2 over 2 so 1 over 1 will have to wait until new glasses are sorted ~ good luck with yours.
Hugs to Mabel and Henry xxx

Lovely projects. I have done one over one a few times and find that I do enjoy doing so...it tends to slow me down and that is a good thing.

I'm doing some one over two right now Vickie - I've ordered a new lamp with magnifier because I'm having trouble seeing those tiny stitches. :( Have a wonderful Easter! blessings, marlene

Hello Vickie,

Happy Easter! I hope the service in the Russian Orthodox Church was festive and like balm for the soul...
Your pink bookmark is lovely. Mine with dear Fietje on it is being used right now, it's in a book on pope Francis. I'm reading about his meeting in the Holy Land of last year, very interesting.

Have a nice weekend! Bye, Carolien

O dear, how silly of me! We're having a week off and I have the 'Sunday feeling' ... so I thought: it must be Easter now in the Russian Orthodox church ... but it still is Good Friday for you. I'm truly sorry!!!
Hope you had a good service though and please forgive me!!!

Another lovely bookmark for another lovely friend.
I just love over one stitching. Because I am so short sighted it is perfect for me, I just hold the fabric really close to my eyes anyway!
I am guessing the final postcard is for Christmas in Germany?

I spy an Engelbreit card! :D

Also I would like stitching one-over but I think I will have to get a magnifier for anything over hardanger count hah.

Hope you had a wonderful service and your pink bookmark is cute! However did you part with the fabric? :)))

So thankful for all Jesus did for us!

Beautiful gifts you did and you're so amazing stitching over 1. Wow! I was going to work on my Easter project but thread count was so tiny, I couldn't see it. :( I don't think I could do any stitching over 1. I so admire you for doing this.

Blessings - Julie
