One Lovely Blog Award

Hi friends! Our friend June has given me the One Lovely Blog Award. Thank you dear June.

The purpose of this award is for bloggers to nominate fellow, mostly newer, bloggers that they wish to recognise. The goal is to bring attention to blogs that we think are "lovely" and enjoy reading. We hope others will enjoy reading these blogs also.
In order to accept the award, the nominated blogger must follow these rules:
  • Thank the person who nominated you & link back to them in your post
  • Share seven facts about yourself
  • Nominate 10 other bloggers for the award
1.  I am a Christian. My husband and I are members of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.

2.  My favorite color is pink. My bedroom was painted pink when I was born. It is painted a very pale pink right now. :)

3.  I was 5'11" til this last year. Degenerative disc disease has made me 5'10" now.

4.  I love poodles. I had a silver toy poodle as a little girl. His name was Julio. My Daddy named him that after the Paul Simon hit, "Me And Julio Down By The Schoolyard."  (I thought the song was talking about my Julio. Hey! I was  three when this song came out!) We have two toy poodles now, Mabel and Henry.
Groovy Julio in his rhinestone collar and hat
5.  We have three children, all living at home still. Jacob is 20 and is attending Marquette University to become a nurse. Emerson is 18 and is attending Concordia University-Mequon. He will go to trade school this fall to become a carpenter. Our youngest is our daughter, Madeleine, she is 16. She attends our state's largest Catholic High School.

6.  The only time I have left our country was many, many years ago with Brian. We crossed the border into Tijuana, Mexico. We were there one hour. If you have ever been there, you probably agree with me that this experience to another country does not count.

7.  My mom, dad, myself and three brothers all have green eyes. Thought that was normal til I was an adult. Two percent of the world's population has green eyes.

If you are not familiar with these ladies I am nominating, check out their links by clicking their names.

Thanks so much for the Blog Award Vickie, I'm honoured:-)
Grooming poodles is an endless task - Brandy needs clipped once again too. I enjoyed reading the seven things you shared.

Julio is so cute and I love his little hat and the picture of the two of you. I learned a few new things about you - like your green eyes. I have green eyes, too!

You like pink? And poodles? Who knew? LOL. These are the most important facts about our Vickie.

I did not realise you were so tall though! I'm only 5ft 2 so I can't afford to lose any more height.

I believe that America is the western country with the smallest percentage of people with passports too. I suppose when you live in such a large place you never run out of holiday destinations.

I have to say, my only experience leaving the country was nearly the same in length as yours, except it was up north... When college shopping with my son, we were in Vermont, close to Ontario's border crossing. I just HAD to get into Canada... so we did! We actually only went into Cornwall, to the Walmart to get souvenirs and Canadian money. They thought I was crazy insisting that my change be in Canadian, because it was less money for me! If Emerson lived closer, my hubby could teach him about carpentry. I really think about that... passing on your trade. Ok, off to read more blogs. Thanks for sharing!

Hey, thanks for the nomination! I don't think I would've realized you like pink and poodles, hah. ;) And that jaunty picture of Julio with his hat and blingy collar! And wooow, you are so tall! I'm just a shorty. Keeps me closer to the flowers, I suppose. :)

O dear, I'm way behind ... but thank you for the nomination! I'll join you in the facts later on this day ... really have to think about that LOL Telling new things apart from what's on my blog already is the challenge. I had a similar 'thing' a few years ago and then I asked the girls to share their knowledge. They had lots of fun to tell me (and others) about my weeeiiird characteristics. Mmmm, maybe I'll ask them again ... To be continued ;)

I had to giggle when I read about your dog and the song, very funny!

Have a nice day!

Hi Vicky,
so nice to read these facts about you - although, most of them I already knew!
But I love your stories about you and Julio - and the green-eyes story too (did not know that)!

Hugs
