Hi friends! Hello new friends! Glad you all stopped by. Still very cold here. And very white. The ground has been covered in snow for 2 months now. Good weather to stay in and stitch. Here is an updated picture of Theotokos.
That is the next skein of wool thread I have begun. What you see stitched in the olive color, was after one skein was used.
I have been listening to Farmer Boy and then Little House On The Prairie, both by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Love them immensely! Did you read these books when you were young? Did you watch Little House On The Prairie years ago? Do you ever see it on TV now? I find these books so fascinating. They are all true. A few things occurred in a slightly different order in the books, than from her real life experiences. A few details may have been added to make the story better, but these things really happened. Well, I am enjoying the series. =)
I believe my body has adjusted to the Cymbalta. The headaches have subsided. There is a tiny amount of pressure in my forehead. I will take that and trade in the high amounts of daily pain. My hip pain is very low presently. Thanks be to God! Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. I appreciate it!
This is how little poodles stay warm here in frigid Wisconsin. They sun themselves. =)
I hope you have a stitchtastic weekend my friends!
Stitching and praying,
Vickie
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind
word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of
caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

I remember crying in front of the tv with the little house in the prairie... Memories! I think it is still showing on some channel here in the UK :) Great progress on your project!
Your stitching is so beautiful and detailed! The pups look real cozy in their beds :)
Theotokos is looking really lovely.
Great news that you pain is lower and your headach has subsided.
Hope you have a good weekend Vickie.
Wonderful news on the pain front even if not on the weather.
Your stitching is amazing as always and how do you like working with the wool threads? I haven't tried any of those or the silks yet.
I adore all of the Little House books and I still have my books from childhood. The bindings are in rough shape because I must have read them over and over and over again.

So glad to hear that your pain is subsiding with the Cymbalta! Yay! I did love Little House on tv. It is still on at night on a channel here. I never read her other books... may check them out next time I go to the library! Hugs!
So good to hear that your pain is less! Oh, I love Laura and her stories! You should skip a few of the books and read The Long Winter next. haha We can so relate, huh?
Hi Vickie, I am glad you are getting relief from the headaches and the pain. You sure brought back Memories with the books and the tv and I still watch some of the reruns on tv with my hubby. He watches a lot of that. I don't think we watch any news, but I guess that is o.k. You are making progress with your stitching. Stay warm we have been really cold and the wind is not cooperating. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
Oh my gosh, your stitching is so beautiful!!! Love the pic of the furry ones sunning themselves. So cute! I'm so glad your pain is better! Such good news! Love Little House -- read the books, thought it all happened in my back yard. lol! Loved the TV series too. Who didn't?
Great progress, glad to hear the meds are working.
How beautiful your stitching is!♥♥♥
I love ' The little house in the prairie ' - it is on tv in Hungary now :) Unfortunatelly I haven't read the books but I'm sure I would enjoy reading them.
Oh my gosh!! How beautiful is comming that icon. Stay warm and cozy dear friend. Hugs.
Your stitching is progressing beautifully. Little House on the Prairie was a bit hit here when it was shown so many years ago.
Good news that the pain is lesser. Stay warm.
We have a poodle ourselve but he doesn´t freeze because his hair is way too long.

Great stitching progress! So glad to hear that there is an improvement with your pain management and that you are adjusting to the medication!
Henry and Mabel look so cute and so cozy :)
Love the Little House!
So glas your feeling better and new meds are working.
Woolie Warm HUGS
Your stitching and your poodles are gorgeous! I hope the snow thaws soon. I cannot imagine having snow for 2 months! Keep warm x
Very pretty stitching!
12 deg F here this morning. We aren't used to that in these parts, but it seems like it's going to go on for some time so we'd better adjust I guess!
Wonderful to hear that you have finally gotten some relief from the pain. Makes life so much nicer!
YOur WIP is just gorgeous!
I do love Little House on the Prairie and have a couple of seasons on DVD. And I also read the book many (really many)years ago. It's always nice to get back to the TV series.
Great progress on your WIP.
And so good to read that your pain has diminished considerably. And the headache almost gone. That's good news.
I'm glad the new meds are working and you are feeling better. We are freezing here too, thought our furnace was going out, had a repairman check it out. It was a sensor needing to be cleaned only $45.00 and I'm toasty again. Your stitching is fantastic. Is the wool easy to work with?
Glad the meds seem to be working for you. Love the Little House books...never too old to read them and enjoy them.
I do remember watching Little House on the Prairie, it is having a re-run over here in the UK on the 'True Entertainment' freeview channel along with The Waltons. :) Good to see your medication is helping. Nothing worse than being in constant pain. Lovely progress on your stitching.
Such good news you are almost pain free. The Little House on the Prairie used to be on TV Sunday lunchtimes when I was small, I used to watch each week whilst my mum was cooking our Sunday roast.
So glad to hear you're getting pain relief! The pups have the right idea for sure. It's a gray day here today and while it's warmer, I'd rather have cooler temps and a sunny day.

I'm so glad to hear that your pain is so low! Praises to God, indeed! I hope the pressure of a headache goes away completely.
Your new project is gorgeous. I love the colors. Can't wait to see it all finished.
Blessings - Julie
your stitching is beautiful and yes I remember Little House on the Prairie Sunday mornings when I was growing up it always made me cry at the end of every episode xx
Praise God you are feeling better. :) That is so wonderful. :)
Ahhh I love the picture of Mabel and Henry...they are so adorable. They are like me, a sun lover!
Ohhhhhh I am in love with your Theotoks. I only wish I could cross stitch something as amazing as that. Mary's eyes looking so lovingly at Jesus...it's like seeing love on fabric...it's awesome!
Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Blessings always sweet friend.
Great new about the headaches and gorgeous stitching progress!
Have a great week Vickie!!
Очень красивая вышивка!
It's been brutally cold here, too!
Funny, I got the first 5 seasons of Little House on DVD at the library and watched them over the weekend. I read all the books as a kid and still have them.
Your project looks good.
How good to read that your pain level is down, Vickie! You must feel like a new person...
I am SO, SO ready for this extreme cold to leave us. It is -7° here right now and the schools have closed once again--unfortunately, not the library :)
Lovely progress on your Theotokos piece--such tiny perfect stitches!
So pleased to hear you are feeling better my friend. Your stitching looks lovely and they look so cozy in their bed xx
Dear, dear Vickie I do hope that pain goes completely I am praying for you..but in spite of your pain you have stitched some beautiful pieces. And those pooches look so cosy!
Chris x
Good to hear that it looks like things are starting to settle down. Fingers crossed the meds keep working :)
Great progress on your stitching. I loved Little House on the Pairie when I was a kid. Read all the books and watched the tv show - always a good tear jerker...
Hugs x
I read all her books when I was younger, watched the series every week, and will still catch it occasionally on the Hallmark Channel...
Glad your pain is easing and love the pups in the sun ~ Panzer is doing that right now!
