Finally Framed

Hi friends! Things have started warming up. Problem is that it rained and froze, so everything is very slick out there. Is anyone enjoying good weather? Tell me.

I finished Mary's Sampler over a month ago. I have been searching for a 5x5 frame ever since. Let me tell you, those are not readily available around here. Unless you want black. Michael's had two different wood ones. I bought one and tried it out. It wouldn't fit! I measured the frame, and guess what? It was 4 1/2 inchesx4 1/2 inches!!! C'mon! Ridiculous. I returned that and guess what? We finally made the trip to Hobby Lobby. Yay! It is not near us. I have been wanting to get back to that store FOR YEARS. Finally went. So glad I did. =) Found a frame. For only $5 too! =)
I found a sweet, little, vintage poodle pincushion with the original thimble on ebay. =)
This is the progress I have made on Theotokos this week.
I decided, why wait for one more week in this elevated pain? I have done some hunting down of this pain PA.She returned to work this last week at the main pain clinic she works out of. She returns this week to the clinic I visit. I have discovered the true problem is that I see her and the pain doctor at the location closer to me. The main clinic they work out of is far away and NOT affiliated with mine. The nurses and people don't seem to work together. So I called my place and had them fax over the message as usual. But then I called that clinic and asked if they received the fax. The receptionist assured me they did and she was delivering it to the PA herself. I called back 90 minutes after I knew she had the fax delivered to her desk and asked if she actually saw it. The receptionist told me she knew the PA saw it because she personally delivered it to her. She put me on hold for less than 2 minutes and then said she personally asked the PA. The PA said she had the fax sent back over with the directions, but you can tell Vickie to increase her meds to 4 times daily beginning now and I will see her in one week as planned. Do you know the nurse from the facility I deal with called me the next morning, 18 hours later? She said they received the message from the PA and the prescription is being called in for you to your pharmacy now. That was it. I didn't even discuss it with her. I will with the office manager at my appointment in two days.Being on the Neurontin 4 times daily has brought the pain level down lower. It has been better.

Off to have lunch with family in a few hours. Hoping the ice melts a lot today. I do NOT need to slip! Who does?!

Have a stitchtatic day my friends. =)

Stitching and reading and praying,
Vickie

I ended up with a black frame for my finish but am hoping to find something nicer before it comes out again next year.

A lovely thimble you secured on ebay

Love the frame you found -- beautiful! Lovely little poodle pincushion too. OMG. Talk about having to follow every little step to make sure you get the pain relief you need. Wow. I'm glad the increased meds help. You poor thing. Hope that ice goes away fast.

Lovely frame your stitching looks great.
We have the same here to many people doing the same job and nothing gets done because they don't know what the other one is doing.
I hope and pray your pain stays away .

Love the frame you found for your sampler. Take care, I am glad your increase in Neurontin is helping. As you know I would be lost without mine.....huge difference in day to day life :)

So good to hear your pain level is being helped by the increase in Neurontin, Vickie... Hang in there--I know it's not easy to have chronic pain as a part of your life.

What a great frame--and what a deal! Our Hobby Lobby is 30 minutes away so I only make it down there rarely. Will definitely be checking out their frame department better next time I go. Your framed piece is perfect and I love your newest poodle purchase, too :)

Keep us posted on your visit with the PA now...

Hmm, I just left a note but it disappeared...I'll try again!

Lovely framed finish and beautiful work on the Theotokis so far. It'll be wonderful once completed. Good to hear that the pain is a bit lessened for you. Sending you prayers and hugs as always!

Gotta love Hobby Lobby! I'm reluctant to share, but we're having fantastic weather here. Highs in the low 70s and expecting the mid-upper 70s by week's end. This is why I live in Arizona!

Well done on getting the perfect frame :)
Love the poodle thimble set!
Sorry to hear about your frustration with your medical team.... I have often found that people who don't suffer chronic pain have no idea what we go through.....
Fingers crossed you will start to get some relief now... And don't slip on the ice!!
Hugs x

Whoo hooo! I am glad you found that frame. I actually have the same one and use it to pop my monthly LHN pieces in and out. I bought 2 of them and painted one white. :o) They are great little frames. I am happy to hear you are getting some pain relief.

The frame really complements Mary’s Sampler, great find! Sorry to hear that you had to go through all that to help decrease your pain levels. After my pain levels had stabilized, I was allowed to go back to the 3x a day and have the extra one for those days that I had to have a little extra. Happy Stitching and Prayers!

Yesterday was in the mid 70's and today in the mid 60's. Tomorrow it will be rainy but in the mid 50's. I can tolerate that! Beats the freeze! Glad you are taking charge with that lazy PA! Go get her! Meant in the nicest kind of way... Love the frame you found for $5! Hugs!

Good to hear that it's getting warmer at your place. Here the spring-like weather is beginning to change, it's getting colder and some snow is forecast. I wouldn't need it, lol.
Mary looks gorgeous in the frmae you found. And nice progress on Theotokos.

Good to know that your pain level is lower now that you have increased the medication.
