Pumpkin and Gift Stitching

Good morning everybody! It is a very cool morning thus far. Just look at this pretty sunrise from minutes ago. I saw it from the front porch as I watched the kids drive off to school.

God is an amazing, awesome artist!

The pumpkin stitching was done last week. It rained for 48 hours straight after that. And I needed to get the picture outside because it resides on the front porch poodle. ;)

I used the pumpkins from the PSS freebie called Give Thanks. I found the wired ribbon the other day at JoAnn. It is like 18 count Aida ribbon. I knew right away it would be used for my front porch pooch.

This is the gift I sent off to Catherine. She told me she loves it. =)

She had told me months ago that she likes blues, greens, pinks and browns. Well my family thinks it looks like a chocolate cupcake! This was another fun bottle cap pincushion to make. =)  I love that textured brown felt, however it is not as noticeable on the finished pincushion, except the bottom. ;)

I am currently stitching a gift for a young woman I do not know. She is an eighteen year old student at our children's Catholic high school. She is an unwed mother. She had her baby, a girl, a week and a half ago. She has not returned to school yet. Our kids know of her, but do not know her. I just thought a little something for her baby might be nice. I don't know, I was just moved to do it. She is obviously having a tough time. Many of her "friends" abandoned her. Tough choices in life. Big consequences too. Well, praise God mom and baby are well.♥

Have a fabulous day my friends. I am happy to have new friends here.♥ I thank you all for your kind words. They warm my heart. I will share with you next time my thrift store finds from yesterday. I spent a whole three dollars and change! ;)

"Thanks ladies for your prayers! I am much improved!"

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

I noticed the red sunrise this morning, too... It made me think of the "Red in the morning, sailors take warning..." saying. Wonder if we're due for some rain? Your "chocolate cupcake" looks good enough to eat!!! I think that's my favorite of all you've shown so far!
So glad you are making something for the Mom and baby. It will be a blessing to you and to her, and a token of Christ's love each time she sees it.

Love your front porch poodle and his new ribbon! Very nice! Beautiful gift for Catherine too. How sweet of you to stitch for that unwed mom and her baby.

Oh my goodness, that pup of yours is adorable!! Love the concrete pup, too, and her jaunty bow.

I think that is so sweet of you to do something for the young mom and her baby. I had a few friends in HS that had babies that young and don't think I realized at the time just how hard it was for them--I only realized it once I had my own children. It's a tough road, but what a courageous and wonderful choice to have the baby.

Love the gift for Catherine!

That is so sweet of you to make a little something for the young mother, Vickie--she needs all the support she can get right now! And Catherine's cupcake looks good enough to eat--it really does look like chocolate. No wonder she loves it :)

Hope the rest of your day is as beautiful as that sunrise...

Beautiful sunrise, if we saw that here in Ireland we'd say we were in for a day's rain lol, not that it does much else here lately but rain!
Really love the pumpkins and your bottlecap reminded me immediately of a chocolate and pink cupcake, I think you need to make one for yourself. What a wonderful thing you are doing for this young lady, a lot of her friends could learn much from that, sometimes our actions can lead to tough paths in life but its by helping each other when that helping hand is needed that we can all get through things.

I enjoyed your lovely post Vickie. Beautiful photos of your sunrise, and gorgeous stitching. You are a very sweet soul to always be thinking of others. This young Mum will feel blessed to receive such kindness from someone unknown to her....

The sunrise is incredible!!

And how sweet of you to stitch something for the new mum. Some people are so judgemental of young Mums but it's really tough for them, they need our support. I was a single mum in my 30s and that was hard enough!! Until you co-parent you really don't realise how much difference a supportive partner can make.

Cute pincushion... and it does look like a cupcake! :)

The ribbon looks really nice on the white poodle. You should do one for every holiday!

So sorry it has taken me so long to comment ~ I am trying to get caught up on my blog reading.
What a great sky photo you captured! Beautiful way to start the day.
I absolutely adore my little cupcake! It now has a place of honor on my hutch. Thank you again for your kindness.
Isn't it funny how we can be moved to just do something for someone we don't really know. Hopefully the young mom has great family support and can build new true and lasting friendships.
Sweet Mabel!!
