I finished stitching Rejoice on Good Friday. I decided to finish it in a flatfold. So that meant refreshing my memory with Vonna. :)
Rejoice by Plum Street Samplers |
stitched 2 over 2 on 28ct cream Meran linen |
From dusk to dawn, from start to finish, from death to life, from cross to throne... Jesus is risen! |
I am very happy with the results considering I finished it on Holy Saturday and on Easter Sunday in a narcotic induced trance. Let me just say, I almost cried. I almost destroyed the mounting completely. Much prayer, chocolate and deep breathing saved it. For fear you think I am a druggie, I tore and stretched ligaments in my left SI joint(hip joint) 7 years ago in a bad fall. I have been living in pain every single day since. I have tried many, many procedures, injections, physical therapy, gizmos, gadgets, creams, whatever! I take two different meds to basically trick my body and nerves. When I slip, trip, get bumped, or misstep, my pain level spikes. Then I need the percocet. Blech! Let's not talk about it!
Okay, so, have you ever heard of Cow Pies? I mean this kind. My youngest brother gave each of us one of these on Easter day. :) Oooo! Yummy!
I finished the new book from the library, Barn Quilts. I enjoyed it pretty much. It was a bit of a document or it seemed a little like a research project. The pictures were great. There were also touching personal stories from farm families.
I just began reading Hush Now, Don't You Cry another new book, and another one by Rhys Bowen. Two books ago I read Naughty In Nice. That was a good mystery in a different series by the same author. This one I am beginning is from the Molly Murphy Mystery series. Very good series. I have been reading along through a few years here, since the beginning when Molly fled Ireland to come here to America.
Thank you for your comments. I am so glad you are here. :)

Rejoice is lovely - have not seen this one before. Your backing fabric is perfect too. Hope today is a pain-free day for you.
Very nice finish....and stitching!
I love Rejoice! Makes me think of "This is the day that the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it."
You are a tropper, it has been freezing here too. I was able to go outside and take pictures on Monday when it was warm and sunny.
It is so beatiful!! And the ones of us that love cross stitching very much, do appreciate your effort to make the best of your work and to endure cold and wind for the picture!
Be well!

I really love your Easter finish Vickie, its wonderful and I sure do appreciate your outside photos in the cold, me I'd have taken them indoors lol.
I just dind't quite know what to expect when I saw Cow Pies and am off to google some more on them lol.
Lovely finish Vickie!! The fabric is a perfect match! So sorry to hear you live with knee pain daily. My mother lives with back and knee pain daily and it's not pleasant at all.
Hugs

Such a pretty finish, Vickie--and well done on braving the elements for that perfect picture :) What stitchers won't do for a great shot to showcase their pieces, right!?
I can't imagine living with chronic pain--my husband deals with chronic foot pain and, like you, has gone to so many doctors, tried every treatment under the sun, and all kinds of medications--all to no avail. I'm glad the percocet helps at least a bit...
What a very special piece....so perfect to celebrate Easter and our Risen Lord! I can't recall having seen this design, but love it!
Blessings for you this week, and praying that you will feel less discomfort in whatever you are doing.
What a beautiful finish Vickie.
I'm sorry to hear you are in pain so much.
I love your Easter finish! You've done a fantastic job on the finishing too!
Very nice finish! The backing fabric matches great.
