Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome to blogging.
I wanted to show you the picture I sent to Nicola, of my sweet, little Mabel. This was taken about one year ago. I was at my sewing machine, piecing a quilt. She hopped right up on top of my sewing basket and promptly fell asleep. :)
The second finish I had in January was also for my husband. He was given a pen at work. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to create a small piece of needlework to insert into it. I have since seen a pen for sale(rather expensive) in a needlework shop. It was so thick! A very large barrel to it. It was trickier to finish, because of it's narrow barrel. It was worth it. This pattern was a freebie offered back in 2009 by Carinne. It is called "Sampler aux Oiseaux". I stitched it one over one on 28 ct whit evenweave. I changed the bird color to a blue that matches the pen perfectly. My husband says it is his favorite pen. :)
I have one stitched pillow/pin cushion that has been awaiting final finishing for almost two weeks. I am currently stitching another small I plan on making into a fob.

Hi Vickie,
Welcome to the blogging/writing world. I started out in 2005 and really enjoy it. For what I can see you have some wonderful skills. The pen is amazing! Your Mabel reminds me of a friend dog called Cassandra. They are really cute!

Hi Vickie:
First, Welcome to Blogging! What a pretty site you already have!
I love your pen and your previous January finish...the lion. Isn't it fun working on tiny projects? I still haven't finished my 1/1 squirrel that I made last summer. Hoping to do something with it soon (perhaps finish a new pincushion?).
I'm following your blog now, so I'll be back to visit again. Thanks for leaving notes for me. They're always appreciated.
xoxo
Donna
