Hi friends! Let me show you the February cubby shelf.
Here is the February corner shelf. You must know I love to bring out the pink for Valentine's Day!
In the mother of pearl frame is a new finish. 💘February Square Dance by Heart In Hand💘I stitched this two over two on 32ct evenweave using DMC and VMSS
💕💘And now a February freebie you can find HERE💘💕
I plan to stitch this whole cute series. Only problem is that the months are in Italian. That's okay. Just requires a bit of ingenuity to make it all work and fit.😉 I will perch these tiny finishes on top of the cubby shelf. I stitched this two over two on 28ct white Jubilee using all VMSS flosses and the grey DMC. The fabric shown is the backing material.
I am now stitching up another Valentine small.
Have any of you read this book? Wow. What a good book from beginning to end. The majority of the book takes place in Poland. I found that very interesting.
In 1942, Europe remains in the relentless grip of war. Just beyond the tents of the Russian refugee camp she calls home, a young woman speaks her wedding vows. It’s a decision that will alter her destiny…and it’s a lie that will remain buried until the next century. Since she was nine years old, Alina Dziak knew she would marry her best friend, Tomasz. Now fifteen and engaged, Alina is unconcerned by reports of Nazi soldiers at the Polish border, believing her neighbors that they pose no real threat, and dreams instead of the day Tomasz returns from college in Warsaw so they can be married. But little by little, injustice by brutal injustice, the Nazi occupation takes hold, and Alina’s tiny rural village, its families, are divided by fear and hate. Then, as the fabric of their lives is slowly picked apart, Tomasz disappears. Where Alina used to measure time between visits from her beloved, now she measures the spaces between hope and despair, waiting for word from Tomasz and avoiding the attentions of the soldiers who patrol her parents’ farm. But for now, even deafening silence is preferable to grief. Slipping between Nazi-occupied Poland and the frenetic pace of modern life, Kelly Rimmer creates an emotional and finely wrought narrative. The Things We Cannot Say is an unshakable reminder of the devastation when truth is silenced…and how it can take a lifetime to find our voice before we learn to trust it.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10
I hope you have a wonderful weekend my friends. Thank you for stopping by.
Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Really nice finishes and thanks for the chart link. The book sounds intriguing.
Hi Vickie, I love the pictures of Cally and your Cubby. But when I saw the pictures of your, "Pink Poodles," on the corner shelf, you brought back a memory. When I was little I had a collection of stuffed animals. I fell in love with a stuffed pink poodle, I saw at a store. From that point on that is all I wanted for Christmas. I had that poodle for years, but I really don't know what happened to it. But, I have never forgotten it. Thank you so much for sharing:)

Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the book... Had to take a break a bit from the Holocaust though so I'm reading another WWII one set in the U.S. that you might like called "The Wartime Sisters" (but you've probably already listened to it!!
