White Linen

Hi friends! Have you seen any snow yet? We had just the smallest amount of flurries on Friday. Nothing much. That is fine by me!

I finished the white linen valance for the boys' room. I was not so sure about the ruffle on the bottom. I think I made it slightly too rufflie. I am not taking it apart and redoing it however! It does not bother me that much.winking faceI randomly spaced 1/4" pin tucks across the valance width.
I made this valance like I did the previous two. I see something I like on Pinterest and just study the picture and kinda figure out how to make it on my own. I have had this white linen in my stash now for years.
The guys like it. They seem to like whatever window treatments I make in their rooms. This is a lot less exciting than the rainbow dinosaur window valances I remember making when they were very little.smiling face with open mouth and smiling eyes
This can be seen right out the boys' bedroom window.
I am stitching a Christmas ornament.(Not the kit I was waiting for. Still waiting!!) No pictures there.

I also have more sewing to share with you next time. I can't help myself. I know I said I was going to do stitching now, but, well, I can't stand the state of undoneness around here. So I am also working on a few things.winking face

I hope you all have a great week my friends! Thank you for stopping by. Thank you for your wonderful comments. I enjoy reading them.

Stitching and sewing and praying,
Vickie

You are on the roll, Vickie, sewing all these valances for the new apartment. This one looks great, too.
I hope your kit will arrive soon.

Your sewing machine has certainly been humming! Great job on the curtain and what a lovely view they have out their window, looks a little European! Hope your kit comes soon! Mary

I like these valances, Vicky, and I do not think that you ruffled the ends to much.
Well it needs its time until you are settled and ready with everything in your new house. No wonder, that you do not have so much time for stitching. I know what I am talking of ... I am still waiting that the times come back, that I had before we moved in our new house four years ago ;-)

Have a wonderful week, my dear friend!
Hugs

I agree with Mary, the view out the window looks quite European. The valance turned out great; I don't think it's too 'ruffly" and I do like how you 'pieced' it together. I agree that it's hard to concentrate on 'extracurricular' projects when your surroundings are in disarray...hope your new place all comes together soon so you can get back to your stitching.

The valance looks great! It makes sense to want to settle in and do the sewing necessary to feel that way. You're doing well with that! Hope that kit comes soon. Have you tried emailing them? So strange!

I like the valence, it looks great!
I had to chuckle when you commented on the view out the boys window. As I was looking at your valence photos I saw the view out the window and was going to say "another great view!". I don't think I would ever tire of such picturesque scenery.
And no, we've had no snow here in Phoenix! hahaha
Enjoy your week, friend!

Vickie: I love the valance, it is wonderful, I am like you if I see something on Pinterest I figure it out, that is where some of my beading information comes from.
Last week we had five inch's of snow last Friday we had a small dusting, the weather is in the upper 30s today and forty's the next few days and maybe a 50s by Thursday, yippee.

Blessings
Catherine

Vickie you did a wonderful job on that valance with tucks and the slight ruffle. I love the linen fabric too. You are definitely on a sewing roll...send me some that sewing energy. What a wonderful view out the window. Like others have said you feel like you are in Europe. What a lovely town you live in. RJ@stitchingfriendsforever

Oh, Vickie, very nice! Isn't linen lovely to work with? There is something about natural fibers that stirs the soul. I've got a few pieces of fabric that have been around for years, just waiting for that perfect project. LOL Have an amazing week, friend.

Good Morning Vickie...

Your valance in the boys room looks wonderful! I had to smile when I read that they had a rainbow dinosaur valance when they were little...Andrew had rainbow dinosaurs on a border of wallpaper that went around his room when he was little...grins!

I can totally understand how you want to finish things and feel more settled! I am exactly the same way! Oh yes...just that way....lol!

I hope you are having a good week so far. This week is crazy for me with labs, Dr. appointments and treatment! Oh joy....lol! I am STILL stitching on my ornament ...but it is coming together and I love it...it feels good to pick up a needle again....

Sending hugs and love to you my dear friend!

The linen curtain looks great and not at all too ruffly! Though I do think the rainbow dinosaurs would have been neat haha. :D Their view is very nice; I almost expect a clock on that tower! I'm sure they can people watch from the window too.

I like the valance. We don't have snow yest over here in the Netherlands, still enjoying the autumn weather.

It looks great, I don't think it looks too ruffled. (You should see what my mil put in the boys room at the lake!)
