Hi friends! So I have many of you interested and intrigued by what I am stitching for Christmas, do I? Yes, this is a big project I have wanted to make myself for years. It is not a Christmas item. I was inspired by something a fellow blogger spied while out shopping this year. More mystery, hey? ;)
I have been asked to give more clues. Let's see...... There are 21 colors of DMC floss I am using. This is being stitched on black. It is a free pattern I found while searching and searching Antique Pattern Library. I have finished 9 more of the colors now. My Santa here will show the 10 colors that are done being stitched.
I am stitching as much as I can! It is hard with this busy time of year and only being able to stitch for 20 minutes at a time. And yes, the pain in my shoulder and neck is high from all the needlework, but soon, very, very soon I will be stitching waaaay less. I think. ;) My therapist said that I needed to decide if this additional pain was worth reaching my stitching goal. She said the nerve has not had time to relax and settle. It is staying aggravated. I told her it was worth it to me.
Our friend Nienke has received the thank you gift I made her for the abundant gifts she recently sent me. I forgot to take a picture, so she graciously allowed me to use one of hers. I made her a little bird ornament.
This free pattern by Luli can be found right HERE. I used 32ct lambswool linen and stitched two over two with DMC.
Brian always, always gives me my gifts ahead of time. Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, all gifts. So he and Madeleine came home after school Monday with this for me.
Is she not fantastic?! L♥VE her! Mabel however is not so very impressed with her. ;)
Have you noticed our sweet Cucki is back?! Thanks be to God. She had surgery on her back and the pain is greatly reduced. She is feeling much better. I am so very, very glad!
Thank you for your sweet comments and your friendship. I appreciate you!
Stitching like mad and praying,
Vickie

I'll certainly be interested in seeing what this mystery project is. You are some kind of trooper to stitch through the pain.
Cute little tag-like ornament. You have a good eye for taking a simple piece and turning into something charming.
Mabel knows when she's being punked!
Aww cute little ornament..I love it so much...
Lots of love and big beary hugs for you and Mabel xx
Cute little finish!
Very curious about the secret stitching
Too funny about that poodle! My dogs would be terrified!! :) Can't wait to see what you are stitching. Something with poodles perhaps? Or an icon?
Beautiful little ornament!
Merry Christmas to you!
I love the poodle!! Can't believe Mabel is oblivious to that pretty white interloper :)
I'm sorry to hear about the pain getting worse with your stitching--how frustrating! I don't think I could give up stitching either... Just love the little tag you made for Nienke. Luli's designs are so sweet, aren't they? I look forward to seeing what your mystery project is!!
Take care now, Vickie...
Lovely little ornament.
The little poodle looks great.
Have a nice weekend, Manuela
Love your singing dancing poodle! Beautiful tag ornament! I love mine & will post soon. I thought I had 2 weeks till Christmas and its only 1 away. Prayers that you heal soon Vickie! I have no idea what your mystery project is but the colors are pretty.
Merry Christmas! love Annette
A sweet tag. Love your gift too.
Hi Vickie,
That film was so funny, Mabel knows she's fake LOL
Lovely stitches and mmm I'm curious about that project of yours ;)
Happy stitching despite the pain (I do recognize that)!
Love, Carolien
Poor sweet Mabel is thinking not another one again. LOL! I love that Brian gets so excited that he can't wait to give you your presents.
Now I'm really, really curious about your stitching project. I hate the pain is still bad but totally understand that stitching is worth the pain. I suffer with extremely bad eczema on my hands
which crack and bleed but I still just keep stitching away in spite of the pain and bandaids.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Donna
Is the Mystery Berlin woolwork style?
That is truly a bizarre little poodle! Very amusing.
Sorry that you are still in such pain too. I hope it gets better soon, I cannot imagine what you will do if you can't stitch.
As Alice said "curiouser and curiouser" - dying to see your secret project! I'm sorry you're still in so much pain.
Love your new poodle and Mabel's reaction.

I am certainly anxious and very curious to see your mystery project. Have a happy weekend!
I don't have any idea what your mystery project is, but those colors are so nice. Love how Santa offers those floss, more floss please, lol. I hope you don't strain yourself with all the stitching. Take care:)
Hmmm, still no guess from me, Vickie. It's been a long week and my brain is already in weekend mode. LOL I'm with Mabel...that pink poodle is a little busy for me. LOL
Have a good weekend!
Your little gift is so perfect, I know you are enjoying it. I hope the pain is not too severe while you are stitching your special project, can't wait to see what it is!

Hahahaa! Really nice gift, i saw Marvel so bored! Very funny!! I adore your little stitch project, even when i can just guess. Hugs.
Your stitching project is still a mystery, but you are using some pretty colors. :) I'm so sorry your pain is worse, but glad you are still able to stitch. You stitch the sweetest things...I love the little bird ornament! And I love your dancing poodle! Poor Mabel - as you say - not impressed. :)
Lovely Vickie - curious to the secret stitching though xx
What a cute little ornament you made for your friend.
And now my curiosity has even grown. Stitching on it in spite of your pain level just makes this project even more precious. And the colors you are using just say the same :)
love father Christmas and his many colours looks like allot of pinks !
I wonder what you are stitching .
Love the little bird ornament so sweet.
Sorry your pain is still there . I wish it would go away .
Have a lovely weekend hugs.
Oooh I am intrigued by your stitching project!
What a sweet ornament you made.
Have a wonderful Christmas Vickie.
Oh that Christmas gift! ROTFL! It had me in stitches! What a great video too! Poor Mabel. lol! Anyway, love what you sent off to Nienke. I hope you finish your secret stitching with the least amount of pain possible. Can't wait to see what it is. I'm still stumped! And yes, I am so happy to see Cucki again! Hooray!
Ooohhh, very mysterious! Can't wait to see what you're stitching. That's a sweet little ornament you gifted!
Your present reminds me of my Tickle Me Elmo that I got about 5 years ago, which always makes me smile and laugh!! Oh okay, I got it to 'show' my youngest granddaughter, Olivia... but it's MINE! I HAVE noticed that Cucki is back, and so glad all is doing well! I have an idea about your project, and cannot wait to see it. But--at the expense of you being in pain... that worries me. Praying. Big but soft Hugs!
What an adorable poodle! I had such a chuckle watching Mabel being totally unimpressed! LOL How sweet your family is!
Blessings - Julie
