Off To The Fair

Hi friends! Hot and humid weather around here lately. Yuck. The flowers like it though. Several of the bargain, pink gladiola bulbs that I just planted have sprouted. :)

I am stitching Love Is Best, the LK traveling pattern. I used a lavender 32 ct linen and changed every, single floss color. Ha! Not enough pink for me. ;)
Would you like to stitch this pattern next? You must have a blog. You must be a follower of mine. And you must be willing to stitch this up and send it along to the next stitcher. I will draw a name on Monday, July 27th.

I have finally completed the most labor intensive, tedious finishing I have ever done. Am I showing you the big finish yet? Nope. You know why? Well... I am entering it in the Wisconsin State Fair. Yep. I knew this was the piece I wanted to enter three years ago! Other projects kept getting stitched and finished before this. I put it off. I decided half a year ago NO MORE DELAY! I am SO nervous. I have never entered any kind of needlework competition in my life. Brian and I will take this and one other piece I am entering to the State Fairgrounds today. The Fair does not even begin until August 6th! The suspense will kill me I think.

Today our Emerson is 19 years old.♥ He will begin trade school in just over one month. He has decided to become a carpenter. We had family over for birthday cake(Pistachio Marble Cake) yesterday.

Thank you for stopping by my friends. I am so glad you did. You encourage me.

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Good luck at the fair!! You do such beautiful work...Dare I guess that it is pink? LOL

Happy birthday to your son. I know that I only work with little wooden boxes, but the feel of wood in your hands, taking a single piece of wood and making into something that will live with a family. How much more amazing is that?!?

Happy Birthday to Emerson! I think he's made a wonderful career choice, Vickie. I sure wish I had a carpenter in the family--more bookshelves and frames for my stitching could be had :)

Best of luck to you at the fair--I would be nervous, too, but you may be pleasantly surprised!!

Happy birthday to Emerson! Carpentry is a fun choice.

You are brave for putting stuff in the fair! I have often wanted to try to enter but it's a bit far away and I don't do enough traditional stuff anyway haha.

Please do not include me in the draw but thanks for the offer~ It'd be about 10 million years before I stitch it at this rate lol.

Yes, Vickie…Milwaukee was good to us on the 7/11wedding day! Pier Wisconsin was an amazing venue.

GOOD LUCK at the WI State Fair, I wish that I could attend! I will be anxious to see what you entered and how you did. That is so exciting. I would love to enter my needlework into a State Fair.

Please do sign me up for your traveling pattern, thanks!
