🎶Yellow Submarine🎶

Hi friends! Here's Madeleine's ornament❣️
Not the best picture, but it is nothing but gloomy here lately.

Isn't it fun? This is of course Yellow Submarine by Shwin & Swhin. Madeleine is a Beatles fan. I love that this looks just like the Beatles yellow submarine. And best of all this is a free pattern you can find HERE

I stitched this three over one on 14 count Aida! I have never stitched on 14 count Aida before, but I had this awesome hand dyed, sparkly blue fabric in my stash and it was perfect for this. I backstitched with two strands of black. I used all the called for DMC. I had the candy cane striped, wired ribbon in my stash too. I framed the ornament with it and made a loop on the top and wrapped it around and made a bow. I think it turned out alright. It is backed with the same sparkly blue snowflake ornament fabric I used to back Jacob's ornament. It looks perfect with this.😁

And here the LAST poodle in the year long Calendar Poodle SAL.

Jacob is moved into his apartment. We will be stopping by in a few days to give him his St. Nick's stocking.🎅 That is when he gets his ornament.😉

I hope you have a great week. I am trying so hard not to stress out, but I am. I have not baked one thing yet. I have not decorated at all yet. I have gifts for friends to make yet. I have not made out the Christmas cards either. And I have NOT been slacking!!

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." -John 16:33

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Hi Vickie,
The ornament looks perfect for Madeleine, I like it. She will certainly be pleased about that.
Oh and your poodle - how cute he builds a snowman. You really have talent and should continue.
The first gift in a new apartment is always something special. And the sock of St. Nick is something that will be remembered for a long time.
Have a nice week my friend, Martina

Your ornament is wonderful, Vickie! I love that you make each ornament so personal for your children.

I know what you mean about being ready for Christmas. I have my tree up but that's about it.

Praying for you - Julie

Fabulous ornament, perfect for a Beatles fan :-)
If it's any consolation I'm not that organised either, still some gifts to buy, although I have decorated, I do start to get panicky that everything won't get done!

Madeleleine's ornament is adorable and I'm sure she will love it! We stress ourselves way too much about Christmas and the holidays...so much so,it's hard to enjoy them. I'm trying...and I'll reiterate...trying...to not stress over what gets done and what doesn't!!! I hope you can relax and enjoy the process....not stress too much!

Love your daughter's ornament, Vickie! Well done! I know she will be thrilled. Here is what I keep telling myself about holiday preparations -- breathe, what gets done gets done, and do (whether it is baking, decorating, card writing, watching the twinkling lights, etc.) what brings you the most happiness. I hope you are less stressed this week. Thinking of you!

Such wonderful ornaments! I'm sure they will be very much treasured.

One thing about the holidays I've finally figured out is that things will be fine if some things haven't been done. I don't have any of those things done that you don't have done and with us, it is because we have been slacking. Try not to stress yourself out - easier said that done I know - but stressing really doesn't get it done any faster!

The ornament for your daughter is just perfect for a Beatles fan. No stress here. I gave up baking years ago. It is just my DH and me. We don't need sweets and our DD does not eat them. I just had carpel tunnel surgery so not sure about cards this year. I am sitting back enjoying the carols and relaxing! You should join me.

I completely understand the stress--I have so much to prepare for and am not the least bit prepared. I've been leaning a lot on faith lately--it will all work out!:) Your stitches are so sweet, as usual.

What a fun ornament for Madeleine, perfect for a Beatles fan!
I can't wait to hear what Jacob thinks of his ornament.
Your December Poodle is adorable! I think you should do a cat calendar sal next year... they could even look like mine! ;)
I've somewhat decorated, but still have things I'd like to stitch, baking can be done when the boys are all home, and I'm not worrying about the rest! Enjoy your time with family and friends, that's what counts.

What a great ornament finish, Vickie! I've really enjoyed seeing each month's poodle and especially love this one with the snowman. It always seems like there is a lot to do at this time of the year and somehow all of the important things do manage to get done. : ) Take care and try not to stress too much!

I seem to have lost track of blogs somehow! I missed your last post until I saw this one too. Yikes! Anyway, love both of the kids' ornaments! They are both wonderful! Love the last poodle ornament design too! Sorry you are sad about Jacob moving out. It's hard, isn't it? And sorry also that you are stressed with holiday prep. I've been feeling the same. Somehow I'm getting behind! We will get there though. Not worth stressing!

The submarine is delightful, what a great design, stitched and finished beautifully.
Cute final poodle - sweet!
No stressing - its not allowed Vickie - take it slowly and you'll get there in the end.

Love the Yellow Submarine Ornie. I saw the film before I heard the album so it's all intertwined in my memory. It's a weird film but a fun one.

The December poodle is so cute!

Try not to stress too much, Americans seem to get everything done so early and then take it all down on Boxing Day! Whereas I leave it until the week before Christmas and keep it up until Epiphany when you can relax and enjoy it all.

Very cute ornament, I am sure your friend will love it.

Your December poodle is my favorite of the year, Vickie! That is great that you were able to design a poodle each month--you'll have to take a photo of all of them together :)

Ooo the Yellow Submarine is certainly neat! Especially on sparkly blue fabric. I'm surprised you've never used 14-count before though. Your last poodle is adorable too! I was half-expecting a poodle snowman so this is close haha!

I think I've achieved the decorations, apart from the tree which we just got today. Next week will probably be declared Cookie Week!
