🌷Happy Spring!🌷

Hi friends! Happy Spring! Take a look at this.
This is not my work. This is the handiwork of Emerson. Yes, it is true. He asked me two weeks ago how to embroider a woodpecker on his Levi's denim shirt pocket. I pulled out my 1929 Samplers and Stitches  by Mrs. Archibald Christie and we began a few lessons. His progress is slow but sure. Emerson is a carpenter. He works full time during the days. Once he unwinds at night, he has lately been spending a little time with me at the kitchen table, where we both take up our needles.😊

Here is a progress picture of my work on Forever Be My Always by Emma Congdon. I am enjoying stitching a bit more pink into the design.😁
In other news, I am still coughing and of course taking my antibiotics. I barely feel improvement. I am halfway through the course of antibiotics. I will give it two or three days more, then give my doctor a call and ask if I should be rechecked by her for this sinus infection and the bronchitis. Maybe I will need to be on the antibiotics for a longer amount of time than 10 days.

Thank you for stopping by to say hi. I hope you stay away from sick germs! Have a stitchtastic week now!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

A stitched woodpecker for a carpenter, how cool is this. And stitched by Emerson himself. Awesome.
Wonderful progress on your Emma Congdon piece.

Great work by your son! It's so cool that he wants to stitch on his pocket himself. You are making good progress on your project. I just love the colors and the font. Hope you feel better soon!

That woodpecker is fantastic. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to stitch through denim. I'm afraid I'd be breaking a lot of needles.

Your "Forever" piece is coming along beautifully.

Forever is looking great but I'm afraid your son is going to take over your blog...his embroidery is amazing! So talented. Hope you feel better soon.

Fantastic work on the woodpecker, he clearly takes after you!
My son keeps me company while I stitch but he's on the iPad usually.
Lovely progress on the Emma Congdon piece.

Emerson is doing wonderfully!

I hope you are feeling better soon! When I have bronchitis like that, prednisone is the only thing (the one that is taken like a ZPac with the most meds on day 1 and then you step down every day) that helps. Truly makes a HUGE difference.

How nice to have a stitching buddy, his woodpecker is looks great. Your Forever looks great, more pink is always good!
I'm so sorry you're still not feeling well, maybe you need stronger abx if what you have doesn't seem to be working. Rest, rest, rest!

That cough has got to go...you've got Spring things to get ready for!! You know that you are always on my heart.

I wish I had a stitching buddy. Sad face. My son will go shopping with me for cross stitch supplies, spend hours looking at fabric and yarn, but so far, just haven't quite convinced him that this could be his calling!! I shouldn't complain, he does music and pottery, but sigh, it sure would be nice to have someone to stitch with. Perhaps you could rent Emerson out? I have lots and lots of stash...LOL

And your stitching is as beautiful as always. SMILE.

I almost hate to tell you this, but I am still coughing and short of breathe over a month now. Several church friends in same boat. Gave up on the antibiotics routine and have moved to green tea with honey and Alka seltzer cold/flue pm. Seems to keep it somewhat ok. It's a doozie.

Emerson, has your talent , tell him well done .
Your WIP is looking so beautiful.
This must be the same virus that we have here in the UK .
One of my friends had this for 10 weeks !
I am going into my fourth week and still it's hanging in there.
Hope you are well soon hugs.

Your son's embroidery is awesome! I thought it was machine embroidery at first. Love seeing your progress on Forever. Sorry to hear that you are still coughing. Seems that everyone that has had that crud has had it for at least a couple of weeks. My mom had it for more than 3 weeks. I hope you feel better sooner than that!

Emerson knits too, right? He's very talented! I bet his carpentry work is also great. Love that woodpecker! So nice also to have someone to share stitching time with. I do hope you get rid of this illness. A neverending cough is the worst.

Oh, you have such an artistic family, Vickie!! I do love that stitched woodpecker so much. And your stitching is just as pretty. So sorry to read that you're not feeling better yet. Perhaps a different antibiotic would help more? Take care now...

I love Emerson's woodpecker.... well done to him :o) New stitcher in the house!
Your WIP looks lovely - the colours are so pretty ;o)
Sorry to hear that cough is still hanging around - sounds like you need some stronger antibiotics... fingers crossed it does go soon. I know of people who got the flu here last year and the cough stayed around for months... nothing shifted it except time!
Hugs x

I hope the antibiotics do the job for you soon. I love the lettering on your stitching piece, very modern and bright. And how neat that Emerson has picked up a needle also, it must be difficult to stitch on denim.

Stitching with someone is so much fun. Very special time and a great woodpecker. Your work is always gorgeous, of course.

Wow, Emerson's woodpecker is stunning. our WIP is lovely. Hope your cough will clear up soon.

Emerson did a beautiful job on the woodpecker! And I think it is wonderful that the two of you can spend time together like that. Your Emma Congdon piece is so pretty - I love the colors! Sorry to hear you are still under the weather. I'm afraid we have had some kind of lingering illness(es) in my house since the beginning of the year - not fun! Hope you see some improvement very soon.

I love Emerson's woodpecker! I think it's wonderful when men realize how relaxing it is to take up needle and thread. I remember well Rosie Greer, the big, famous football player, and his needlepoint. He made men realize it was manly yet relaxing! I love your cross stitch project. The colors are gorgeous. I'm so sorry you're still sick and pray that the antibiotics work quickly and you feel better.

Blessings - Julie

Vickie: I am so sad you are still ill, I hope you ask the doctor for a chest xray, just to make sure it is not pneumonia, which is going around.
What a great idea to stitch on denim, great work Emerson.
Vickie, your Valentine stitch is beautiful.

Blessings
