😴

Hi friends! How are you? I am dragging. It has been 6 nights of interrupted sleep for me. And Murphy. He has been getting up 4 times a night, every night, for 6 nights in a row now. Brian works third shift and Murphy is definitely MY dog, so it is me and Murph. He has this weird mucousy poop happening. We took a sample in to the vet on Saturday morning to be tested. They send it out, so we don't get results until today. I am not so sure he has internal parasites anyways, but we must rule that out. The night this started, Madeleine gave Murphy a tiny piece of a Slim Jim that day. I think this old boy cannot handle such a thing and his digestive tract got whacked out. I am just guessing. We are waiting to talk to the vet today. I have yet to tell the vet of the Slim Jim. Murphy is acting fine during the day. Eating and drinking fine. He still naps a LOT during the day OF COURSE! Wish I did!!!😪

I took another picture of the Forever Be My Always pattern picture from the Cross Stitch and Needlework magazine for you. It has been a long time since I have shown you this. Some of you thought I was almost done. I have a ways to go yet. This will get pulled out and worked on again late in April.
I am working on A Wish For You. I am dedicating this block to my Grandma and Grandpa Kehoe. Here is a picture of the pattern with the 4 different choices of  DMC recommended to stitch up the shamrocks in the border.
Now do any of those look like the correct color to you? It is probably hard to see, but the shamrocks are more of the kelly green color. I just went through my DMC til I found two that matched the cover photo to my liking.

The next HUGE change to this sampler is the house. I actually started stitching it with the dark red for the bricks. I had to stop. It bothered me way too much. You see, my Grandma and Grandpa's house is still there in West Allis. It unfortunately left the family in the 1980's, but it has ALWAYS and is STILL a white sided house. Now I know all of these homes in each sampler of this AotH series are not necessarily representative of  our families' homes. But this big, dramatic brick house was just too different. And I want this block to be for Grandma and Grandpa Kehoe with the Irish shamrocks. Soooo.. I pulled out the dark red stitches. I stitched B5200 for a bit. I do not believe this is going to work. It is just too light on cream Dublin linen. So I will be pulling out these stitches now and figuring out the correct color floss to use.

Here is where Emerson is now on his woodpecker embroidery.
Looking great isn't it?!

Here is the chart I am giving away.
I am sorry, but due to postage, you must live in America to enter this giveaway. You must also be a follower of mine and leave a comment on this post. I will announce the winner on Monday, April 3rd.

That's all for me today my friends. I will have a picture of A Wish For You on Friday. I hope you have a great week!

Stiching and praying,
Vickie

I hate interrupted sleep! Hope it's good news from the vet and that Murphy (and his digestive tract) settles down. Love that you are going for the look of your grandparents' house. Makes sense to me! Emerson's woodpecker looks fantastic!

Poor Murphy, no more treats for him!
Those greens look completely wrong, I am sure your eye is much better at choosing the right ones.
Great work on the woodpecker and a lovely giveaway too. If only I lived Stateside LOL

Hope Mr Murphy is better soon , and you both get some sleep.
Definitely not the right colours for shamrocks , we used to grow them in the garden and they are a lovely green.
Take care .xx

Hi Vickie: I do hope nothing is wrong with Murphy, poor baby, I know it is hard for you.
Love your Forever, it is a lovely stitch, I do remember the pattern in the magazine.
I am like you I change colors, good luck finding the perfect color for the house, how would it look if you did white and outlined it with a cream color, that way it would separate the white from the linen color.
Love Emerson's woodpecker.
Be4autiful Scripture at the top of your page.

Blessings
Catherine

Hope your Murphy feels better soon. Yeah slim Jims don't sound like a good treat even for a young dog. Ick. It is always a challenge to match up colors for charts. The models always use the hand dyed and the dye lots vary.

Hi Vickie,
Oh my goodness...poor Murphy and poor you! I hope he feels better really soon. My lab Molly had something similar but for me it was only about 3 nights...a little better then 6. Hopefully a good nights sleep will happen for both of you soon!

You have made great progress on your Always sampler...just a little more...
I am anxious to see your progress on AotH ...Changing things and finding the right colors are not easy but I totally get why you needed to...and I think it will be just lovely! You do have a gift my friend!

I hope you have a happy Tuesday and I am sending lots of hugs and love!

Ah poor little Murphy, I hope the vet has good news for him and he will recover soon. Thank you for the full picture of the For ever Be my Always chart, you still have something to stitch.
Thought the woodpecker was already finished but it gets a body too, that's impressive.
Hope you'll find the right way to embroider your grandparents home. Can't you change the design and adapt it so it looks like the right house or is that not possible. Love and greets, Nienke.

How is Murphy? Good news, I hope!
Maybe the DMC 730... looks awkward, the green on the design is different... maybe the colour number 520...
Hope you can sleep soon!
Hugs,
Lili

Oh, dear--lack of sleep is so, so draining, Vickie! I hope things improve for both you and Murphy very soon. I also wish you luck in finding the perfect color to stitch the house--I know you want it to be as accurate a representation as possible :)

Love to see Emerson's bird stitching growing--it's looking fabulous!

Hope you get your sleep troubles straightened out. No fun! And I hope all is well with Murphy. There may be a lot of trial and error on your Anniversaries piece, but it is going to come out so nicely! I'm looking forward to seeing your white house. : ) Emerson is doing a great job!!

I hope everything is okay with Murphy. I understand about the interrupted sleep; my sleep is so erratic and it can be so frustrating. I hope you are feeling good and that the headaches are much less. Happy stitching............
