Pure Love

Hi friends! A frigid morning here. It is currently -8º with a windchill of -25º. I would love to just stay in today, but I have possibly my last physical therapy session today. The pressure in my neck is mostly gone, but the pain in my neck and shoulders and upper back is still there. It actually slightly worsened after I told you of my improvement on Friday morning. :(  I do have an appointment with the pain management doctor on Wednesday. We shall see what she has to say about this pinched cervical nerve.

So I want to share with you the Christmas ornament I have finally made and given to Brian.
This is Pure Love by The Snowflower Diaries. You can find this pattern in the 2015 JCS Christmas Ornament Issue.
This is stitched one over two on 38 count mystery linen. I used DMC and Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe floss.
I changed the finished shape, shown in the magazine as a rectangle, to a heart. I wanted to stack a heart on top of a heart to show a bit of the lovely red silk I used. The back is also covered in red silk. I used a length of red metallic floss for the hanger.
I am pleased to say he is extremely happy with it. He does not want to pack it up with the Christmas things. He wants to display it for a few months. :)

And now to announce the winner of  Mini Silver Needle Stitches pattern. Jenny! I have emailed you. As soon as I receive your postal address, the pattern will be on it's way to you.

Thank you for stopping in with me today friends. I am so glad you did. Your words of encouragement brighten my day!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Hi Vickie, I have been trying to catch up with friends this morning before I go back to stitching. I have several things to get done all of a sudden. I pray that this will be the last session today and that you get the answers that you need. We are really cold today and I won't be venturing out for sure. My daughter told me to be careful. I love the heart and I definitely would leave it out until after Valentine's Day which will be here before we know it. Went to see Hubby who doing about the same. Try to stay warm. Many hugs and prayers from your Missouri friend Shirley

Beautiful ornament and how nice that your husband appreciates your handiwork! Hope your pain eases soon, that must be very tiring.

Annoying that the pain won't just go away for good. It's a process I guess.

The heart is just gorgeous. Of course you must display it, at least through Valentine's Day!

Great way of finishing this design. It does do double duty for Christmas and Valentine's Day too.

What a beautiful ornament you made for your hubby! I don't blame him for wanting to keep it out - it's gorgeous! I will be praying regarding your pain...I'm so sorry that you're having this horrid pain again. It's so difficult to be in pain. I hope your doctor has some answers but, of course, will be asking the Lord for His healing on you!
Congratulations to Jenny on winning! I know she will enjoy it!

Blessings - Julie

I don't blame Brian for wanting to keep his ornament out for a while. it's a beauty! Prayers for your pain to ease and for the doctor appointment to be a success and a help rather than no help. You deserve for that pain to be gone!

What a gorgeous gift for Brian, Vickie! Have you made him one each Christmas?

Really cold here, too-about the same as your weather. After our mild December, this is quite a shock to the system!!

Brrrrr... that IS cold!!! Your Christmas ornament for Brian is adorable... so glad he likes it! Hope the visit to the doctor was helpful, since it required you to get out in frigid weather! (I will catch up and read about it I am sure!) Hugs!

Oh yuck! You can keep that windchill please and thank you! We were down to -2 windchill and I just noped right out of doing outside stuff. It's a good day for hot chocolate and a mountain of blankets+cats (or poodles). :D

Your finish is great though at first glance I thought it was a Valentine's ornament! It's very beautiful~
