Hi friends! This is the first in the new monthly series I am starting for this year. I finished it before the end of January. And it could not be more appropriate for our weather! As you can see from the picture.❄️ We will get a few more inches yet this week.🌨️ This is January Rick Rac Row by Pine Mountain Designs.
This is the original pattern.
You can see I changed most of the colors to PINK it up! 💕 The finishing fabrics are from my stash.💗 This was stitched two over two on 32 count white evenweave with DMC.
I forgot I had these sweet snowman buttons given to me by our friend Gracie . I took the time to make a little snowman pincushion.
Here is my 💕February Corner Shelf💕
Well Gordy the Groundhog here in Wisconsin says it's going to be an early Spring. Not so sure about that Gordy. We are getting plenty more snow ❄️this week and subzero weather too. 🥶
I am stitching a Valentine piece right now. 💘
This was my treadmill book, and it worked perfectly. It made the time pass quickly. 🏃♀️ What a GREAT 📕 A dozen women join a secret 1850s Arctic expedition―and a sensational murder trial unfolds when some of them don't come back.
Eccentric Lady Jane Franklin makes an outlandish offer to adventurer Virginia Reeve: take a dozen women, trek into the Arctic, and find her husband's lost expedition. Four parties have failed to find him, and Lady Franklin wants a radical new approach: put the women in charge. A year later, Virginia stands trial for murder. Survivors of the expedition willing to publicly support her sit in the front row. There are only five. What happened out there on the ice? Set against the unforgiving backdrop of one of the world's most inhospitable locations, USA Today bestselling author Greer Macallister uses the true story of Lady Jane Franklin's tireless attempts to find her husband's lost expedition as a jumping-off point to spin a tale of bravery, intrigue, perseverance and hope.
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1Corinthians 10:13
I hope you have a nice, safe week my friends. More and more of my friends are getting vaccinated. That is great! I wish I could get vaccinated. Unfortunately, since I am 51, I think that is going to be quite a wait. Well, we continue to be smart and safe here in our household. Take good care of yourselves my friends!
Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Your February corner shelf is LOVEly! Also your snowman finish and pin cushion. We're scheduled for our vaccines on 2/18... thank goodness!
Love your January pillow, Vickie! Your corner shelf unit looks fabulous in all its pink heart and love finery. Enjoy the rest of your week!
I love all of your pink, and that corner shelf is so cheerful. I had to chuckle when you said you were too young for the COVID shot, only because I am 70 and have been too young for weeks:) Actually I will get mine this month. However, don't get too discouraged, it sounds like Wisconsin and Ohio are following pretty much the same schedule and your number will be coming up pretty soon. I did tell my family Doctor I would get it when I am old enough:) He smiled. Keep stitching and reading. Many blessings to you and yours my friend.
Your pinked up version of the January pillow looks so cute, Vickie--as do all the pretties on your corner shelf. Love that cute snowman pillow, too :) Our groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, saw his shadow so he and Gordy seem to be at odds--ha ha!!
I hope your vaccination time comes sooner than you think, Vickie. For once in my life, it's paid off to be "old!" Take good care now ♥
All your stitching is lovely. Your Valentine display must make anyone who sees it smile! Looks like another good book!
Oh how lovely is your display lots of pretty pink .
Love the new pillow and color change .
And the snow man is so sweet .
Enjoy your week .
Your corner shelf looks great.
I prefer the pink Rick Rac colours you chose compared to those in the original design.
Vickie, Your JAn rick rack looks great dressed in pink, how fortunate to have the perfect coordinating fabrics in your stash. Your Feb corner shelf is so cheerful and pretty in pink for Feb. Did you see the latest Hands on Design freebie? I thought of your shelf when I saw it. We got nearly 2 feet and more expected. I hope you get the vaccine soon, we are getting ours on Sat. I'm actually glad I'm old!!
Vickie, your snowmen pieces are adorable...I love the simplicity of the pincushion one! I'm sure you had a lot of fun with your February corner shelf---it is pink-alicious!!!
Cute finish & very pretty display.
Love that Snowman!
No snow here yet, but maybe later.
I think we've had enough.
Marilyn
How did you change me up with the idea to pinkify the January design? LOL
The February display is looking amazing, so full of love and happiness,
I hope you come up on the vaccine list soon. Some of my younger friends have had it as they come under "medically vulnerable" i.e. They would be more likely to need hospital care if they caught it.
Oh your little pillow turned out cute, a great finish. And your corner shelf is beautiful, you can easily be found in it, exactly your colors.
With us it will be a long time before I can get vaccinated, as long as I stay at home and only go to work or to the post office or for a walk. My husband goes shopping so we are safe and take care of ourselves.
Hugs Martina
I think I have a set of those snowman buttons somewhere in my craft closet. I need to make a pillow like yours. It is really cute.
I love the changes that you made to the design - so sweet.
So nice all your embroideries! Well done
Hi Vickie, I came over to your blog via Catherine's. I love your completed Ric Rac and the change to pink looks very nice. Your monthly display looks great and I ust love your little snowman! Hope Gordy is accurate in your forecast and the cold goes away soon.
I really like your January in pink. You even changed the scarf, perfect!
I LOVE you pink February corner, I think you need another shelf so you can leave them out all year.
Our groundhog says six more weeks of winter, and we're sure getting it!
We're low on the totem pole for the vaccine too, so we continue to be as safe as we can.
