Hi friends! I have another finish for the month of April to share with you.
☂️April Glooms by Bent Creek☂️ I stitched this two over two with DMC and Classic Colorworks on 32ct lambswool linen. I am working with my stash!
How many of you have read this book? I had planned to read it last year, and then forgot it was waiting for me on OverDrive, through my library, and I missed my time to check it out! Then I forgot to check it out again for months. I had to recheck it out and the waiting list is LOOOONG! But boy is it ever worth the wait! What a great book! I listened to it and it was awesome, but I know reading it would be fantastic as well. I could not get through it fast enough! Loved it.
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life--until the unthinkable happens. Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder. Owens reminds us that we are forever shaped by the children we once were, and that we are all subject to the beautiful and violent secrets that nature keeps.
It is my hope and prayer that you my friends are staying safe and well, and not contracting COVID. I am praying for you.💗
Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:11
Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Hope you stay safe too <3. It's a good time to read books isn't it? I tend to stick to the feel-good-genre though to avoid any additional stress, hehe. Your recent finish is so cute:)
Es un hermoso cuadrito... como se dice en mi país, Abril lluvias mil.
Saludos!

The floof on that baby! :O)
Well done on your April Glooms piece, Vickie! I haven't read that book, but will add it to my ever growing list.
What a cute small design. We love anything connected to rain in this neck of the woods. I did read that book and enjoyed it very much! The end really surprised me!
You actually have the right pattern for April, which is often very rainy, but this year you could have made an sun-umbrella
No, I don't know this book, but it sounds interesting.
Take care of yourself and stay healthy. Martina
Lovely stitch Vickie ,
Such a cute design for April.
Take care , and be happy.
A lovely finish for April.
Take care and stay healthy, Manuela
April is so cute, love the colors you picked.
I think you stitched it just in time, the rains are coming!
Cally is so pretty.
Glad you are all well.

Does that stitch ever speak to me!! We have had the worst April ever here in my part of NY. Rain, snowshowers, rain and one gloomy day after another. Today though, we are getting a break, the sun is out and it's going to hit 60 and then back tomorrow to more rain!! I will be spending the day outside!! A friend called me up Sunday and she was telling me about this book, said it was great. I'll take it as a sign that 2 people within 2 days recommended it!! Stay well.
Another great finish!
Love your April finish sweet friend. You frame it just perfect, too. Praying for you all. Wishing you a lovely day sweet friend. :) ((hugs))
Vickie: What a beautiful design and the perfect frame.
I have this book in my pile to read, I only have two books ahead of this one that are books written by George Mazzeo RJ from Stitching Friends Forever husband, then onto Crawdads.
Stay Healthy

I too loved the book Vickie, a great read.
Sweet finish for April
Warmest wishes x
I hope you are staying safe as well. Love the little April Gloom pattern and pics of the kitty
Perfect frame for April Gloom. We have a day of sun and then 5 days of rain. I have been wanting to read that book, still haven't made it to the library. I need to look into technology and see about audio books.
April Gloom is lovely, although this year our April has been very sunny. I have that book to read as it was one of our monthly books in our reading group at Needlecraft Haven
I would have to change that to April Blooms because we have had lovely weather. Until the last two days!
Lovely fluffy kitty picture.
And now we are into May Vickie, how did that happen? The days fly by but time is standing still - I love that little "floofy" bundle.
Love your Bent Creek! I'm a BC lover too. Hope God protects you & your family too.
Sweet April finish, seems appropriate for May too!
Another book to put on my list, I really need to listen to more.
