Hi friends! I want to share with you the finish that is the first of THREE of these I must make for my adult children. These are in memory of Winky, Madeleine's eleven year old blue parakeet that died just a couple of months ago.
This is called🎵Sing Noel by Praiseworthy Stitches🎵  I made a few changes to this. I used the metallic threads that I had on hand. I chose this pattern because of the bird. I changed the blue bird to look like our parakeet. 💙 This is stitched two over two on 32ct Blue Ice Belfast Linen. The words are stitched over one.

I was given this ornament by our friend Sally 💗
Isn't it just perfect for me?! I love it! Thank you once again Sally!

And I was given these gifts by our friend June 💗
Yes! Another perfectly pink ornament! I think my friends know me!💗 That Matryoshka doll is too pretty to be used as a keychain June. I do believe I will make her into an ornament also. 😊 Thank you once again June!

I continue on in daily pain with plantar fasciitis. It has developed in my left foot also now.😬

I have two physical therapists. That is the way they do it at this particular site. You alternate seeing two different people. I have Alyson and Luke. I like them both, but...LUKE. Good grief! One exercise he had added was heel raises. Then he had me do them with the front of my foot elevated. Then he said if I wanted I can add a back pack to my back with a milk jug in it for resistance. Is he nuts?! Listen, kid, you told me I will get well on my own even without PT!! I do remember that! I am still thinking of bailing out. I am not kidding. He is no longer doing the "foot manipulations" or rough massage or whatever you wanna call it. The stuff I thought seemed worth going to the appointments for. He had me doing leg presses last week! I have never used a leg press machine in my life! I am scared of what we will do next time!

I am very glad I saw Alyson on Monday. She asked how it was going and I told her that Luke asks me to try to keep slowly increasing the treadmill time. I told her I realized I cannot. It is hurting me. I told her I decided I am backing it back down to 11 minutes twice daily and that is it. Any more than that and it causes pain. She said you are smart. You must listen to your feet. We don't know what your feet are telling you. I think we are pushing you too fast too soon. We also discussed shoe stuff since Alyson suffers from plantar fasciitis herself. Then she asked me, "What is the best thing I could do to help you today?" Boy did that make me happy. I told her the foot manipulation stuff. So she did that. After I got home, I cancelled my appointment for Luke for today! HA! 😁 Don't know what excuse I am giving, but it is cancelled.

I thank you for stopping by today my friends! I am very glad you did. 💗 I hope you have a great week! It is REALLY COLD here! It will be only 17 degrees today.🥶

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. John 12:24-25

Whoa, first? Maybe. lol! Anyway, I love the ornament so much. It's so appropriate for your family this year. Plantar fascitis. Ouch. I didn't know you could get PT for that. I was doing PT for my vertigo -- not sure it helped. I hope yours helps you! I'm supposedly on the road to having that, but I hope not!! Sorry you are in pain. :(

This is darling, Vickie--the metallic threads are a perfect touch!

So sorry the PF has developed in the other foot, too! Sometimes I think too much PT can make things worse. I just let mine stay the course and did exercises on my own. Yours sounds much worse, though! Hang in there--I do hope it lets up soon. ♥

I love the ornament you created in tribute to Winky for your kids! They are going to love them. Lovely gifts you received, Vickie! I think you should tell Luke the things you told Allyson and if he can't listen to what you are saying, then continue on with Allyson. Thinking of you!

Love the ornornaments. As for therapy, I think you are doing the tight thing. They go by the book but you must go by how you feel. I do hope the pain will soon be gone or at least much less.

Very cute ornament! So sorry your heel is so painful. My daughter has it due to not walking for over two months when she broke her ankle. She's going the no PT route. It hurt solid for a couple of weeks, but now it hurts off and on. Hang in there!

What a sweet ornament Vickie. I'm sure they will love it.

There are some PTs that expect more than the patient can give. I quit going and follow the routines at home. Just not comfortable with all the other patients.

The ornament for Madeleine is so pretty. And how great you made the fuss.
You got very nice presents.
I think Alyson is right, you have to listen to his body, he knows exactly what does him good and what does not. Of course you have to challenge him sometimes. But you should not be in pain. If it would concern me, I would cancel the appointments at Luke and go twice to Alyson twice.
I wish you all the best for your feet, do only as much as it is to endure.
Have a nice day, Martina

A cute ornament to honor Winky.
Another pretty one received also.
E-gads! That therapy sounds worse than the pain, I hope you get relief soon. Sounds like a torture chamber!

Your gifts are perfect!
Vicki, sometimes you just have to listen to what your body is telling you! Hope things improve soon!

I think the ornament you made is just so sweet - a lovely memory piece! I'm sorry to read about your plantar fasciitis. I had it in one foot several years ago and have vague memories of it being extremely painful. Luke sounds a little extreme! And I think Alyson is right - you have to listen to your body - no excuses necessary. 🙂Hope things improve for you very soon!

I am so sorry! I know what a painful condition that can be! I was given a shot in the foot guided by a cat scan sort of thing and it took care of the pain. Later that summer I walked over lots of trails in Alaska. No PT at all. What a wonderful ornament for your children!

Lovely ornament and the perfect way to remember your little parakeet.
I like the two you were sent and the beautiful 12 Days card as well.
Hope your foot is getting better now.

What a precious memorial ornament, it looks lovely!
You received some sweet ornaments, especially the pink ones.
I'm sorry to hear that you pain has moved over to your other foot, what a pain, literally! Good for you for telling Alyson how you're really feeling. I hope she, or you, will share this with Luke too.
