ABC Can't Catch Me!

Hi friends! I want to share another UFO I finished off into a pillow. This is 'ABC Can't Catch Me' by Nancy Turner/VMSS . I stitched this in 2015 with DMC one over one on 26ct cream linen.
Isn't it cute?

When we got together on Sunday at Mom's for Mother's Day, I asked Jacob to take a picture of my three brothers and me. Here we are.
What is so funny to me is that I am 5'11"tall. I look short in this picture don't I? We are all tall in our family except my mom and her husband. She is 5'2" now. She keeps shrinking. I don't know how tall Jim, my stepfather is. Not much taller than her! My father was 6'4".

Yes yet another Kate Morton book! And you betcha it is good!
A long lost letter arrives in the post and Edie Burchill finds herself on a journey to Milderhurst Castle, a great but moldering old house, where the Blythe spinsters live and where her mother was billeted 50 years before as a 13 year old child during WWII. The elder Blythe sisters are twins and have spent most of their lives looking after the third and youngest sister, Juniper, who hasn’t been the same since her fiancé jilted her in 1941. Inside the decaying castle, Edie begins to unravel her mother’s past. But there are other secrets hidden in the stones of Milderhurst, and Edie is about to learn more than she expected. The truth of what happened in ‘the distant hours’ of the past has been waiting a long time for someone to find it. Morton once again enthralls listeners with an atmospheric story featuring unforgettable characters beset by love and circumstance and haunted by memory, that reminds us of the rich power of storytelling.
I am stitching an adorable pattern for the June pedestal stand. It was gifted to me by Robin. So that means when I am done it will be offered to YOU!😊

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”  Isaiah 60:1

Have a super day my friends! Thank you for stopping by and saying Hi!

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Very pretty this little pillow, you have worked great.
Great as a family picture. Your 3 brothers have always had a watchful eye on you in your childhood.
Thanks for the tip with the next book by Kate Morton, I have to see if I can find it.
Have a nice weekend, Martina

I do love that family photo! How wonderful to have all that height in your family, Vickie--we are the complete opposite! I am only 5'1"!!! (on a good day :)

Love your little pillow and I will put that Kate Morton book on my list!

Sorry to be so late commenting--I was at my mom's last week and have been having problems with my wrists lately. Not good for commenting OR stitching :(

What a wonderful photo of you all. You do look tiny! You should have made your brother stand up so we could see the work you did on those dungarees with all the autographs!

Great pictures with your brother! I never would have guessed you were that tall! My Mom and I were the same height, but she is definitely shrinking.
I love your finish and the different fabric you added to it.
Another book to add, I really need to find the time.

Vickie I had no idea you were that tall. Lucky girl. One of my best friends is that tall too and I'm only 5 ft. 1 in. and I have to look up to her. And she takes much longer steps too so it is hard to keep up with her.

Love the photo with your brothers...it's a keeper. RJ
