Good Grief!🙄

Hi friends! I am still around,  but having a bit of trouble. I have encountered a setback with my neck. It seems my neck is the weak point in my body. So Bridget tells me. Yes, Bridget. As in this Bridget.
Remember her? My physical therapist? Yes, I am actually back to seeing her.😥 It seems unreal. You won't believe how I injured my neck! I spent several hours with my MIL shopping and out to lunch. She speeds to the red light and takes off very fast at the green light. I am not used to all the jerking around in the car I guess. My neck was rocking back and forth. Bridget said I suffered mini whiplashes that day. So my nerves have been all frazzled since then. A MONTH AGO!! I just can't believe the pain from something so simple! So I will work with her in therapy for a while.

I did call the neurosurgeon's office when my neck pain did not go away after two weeks. I left a message with his assistant explaining what happened and asked if I should go back to PT and if so can he send an order over for me to begin? Since I received an order to begin PT, I guess he feels this is the correct thing for me to do.

I did ask Bridget if something is wrong with me, maybe to do with my neck surgery? She said no, she did not think so. I have suffered a sprain.

I won this adorable T-shirt from the giveaway that RJ and Mary had on their blog STITCHING FRIENDS FOREVER.

Isn't it cute?! I just love it! Thank you so much Peggy for this T-shirt from your wonderful LNS, Crafty Framer and Cross Stitch Store, in Largo, Florida.

Here is the pretty card Mary made me. She also sent these sweet pink coasters as a little extra.

🙏🙏🙏
I have an update for you on our friend Scott. He has had a double craniotomy to remove the two brain tumors. A postoperative MRI has revealed that 0.1% of cancer remains in his brain. Radiation is needed along with chemo to rid him of this. This is very good news!

Scott is now at a rehabilitation  hospital. He is doing physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Please pray for him and his family. There is still a long road ahead. Thank you!
🙏🙏🙏
War Brides by Helen Bryan was a good story, but I had a hard time getting into it in the beginning. Also, there are a lot of characters to keep track of.
With war threatening to spread from Europe to England, the sleepy village of Crowmarsh Priors settles into a new sort of normal: Evacuees from London are billeted in local homes. Nightly air raids become grimly mundane. The tightening vice of rationing curtails every comfort. Men leave to fight and die. And five women forge an unlikely bond of friendship that will change their lives forever.
Alice Osbourne, the stolid daughter of the late vicar, is reeling from the news that Richard Fairfax broke their engagement to marry Evangeline Fontaine, an American girl from the Deep South. Evangeline’s arrival causes a stir in the village—but not the chaos that would ensue if they knew her motives for being there. Scrappy Elsie Pigeon is among the poor of London who see the evacuations as a chance to escape a life of destitution. Another new arrival is Tanni Zayman, a young Jewish girl who fled the horrors of Europe and now waits with her newborn son, certain that the rest of her family is safe and bound to show up any day. And then there’s Frances Falconleigh, a madcap, fearless debutante whose father is determined to keep her in the countryside and out of the papers.
As the war and its relentless hardships intensify around them, the same struggles that threaten to rip apart their lives also bring the five closer together. They draw strength from one another to defeat formidable enemies—hunger, falling bombs, the looming threat of a Nazi invasion, and a traitor in their midst—and find remarkable strength within themselves to help their friends. Theirs is a war-forged loyalty that will outlast the fiercest battle and endure years and distance.
When four of the women return to Crowmarsh Priors for a VE Day celebration fifty years later, television cameras focus on the heartwarming story of these old women as war brides of a bygone age, but miss the more newsworthy angle. The women’s mission is not to commemorate or remember—they’ve returned to settle a score and avenge one of their own
I am sorry I do not have stitching to share with you right now. Bridget told me not to stitch for TWO WEEKS NOW! Well, she said don't do needlepoint. So, I guess I can do my cross stitch then?🤣😉I may or may not be sneaking in 10 minute sessions.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful day my friends!

Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.  Luke 15:10

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

I feel your pain Vickie, I hope the PT and rest takes care of it and try not to be a passenger with your MIL again!! She sounds like a terrible driver.
The shirt looks great on you and your new sidebar photo is a lovely one, I don't know how long that has been there but I just noticed it.
Continued prayers for Scott and Jenny.

Thanks for the update on Scott - this is awesome news and an answer to prayer for sure! Sorry to hear about your neck... hope the PT has you back to feeling good soon. Not being able to stitch for two weeks... wow, that would be difficult. At least you can catch up on your reading!

So sorry about your neck...sending prayers your way sweet friend. That is great news about Scott, also sending prayers his way, too. Hang in there with the therapy, you'll be right as rain before you know it. :) Blessings always sweet friend. :)

Oh, Vickie, hugs (careful, not hard-on-your-neck hugs!) your way. I'm so sorry. If I were you, I would INSIST on doing the driving when you're with your MIL from now on. Our family chiropractor said that the majority of injuries are the result of everyday, mindless moments, from stepping off a curb to getting out of bed the wrong way. Perhaps if we wrapped ourselves in bubble wrap we'd do better?

Good news for Scott! Woohoo! Chemo and radiation are hard, and can have lasting side effects, so yes, the road ahead is not easy. But such good news.... it's so important to focus on the good news.

I tried getting into War Brides and I set it aside after one go and didn't get back to it. It's on my Kindle. Perhaps someday. I love the search function on the Kindle when stories have a lot of characters... don't know what I would do without it.

Have a lovely day!

Hi Vickie,
Oh - I immediately discovered the new picture of you, very nice. And the shirt is very good for you.
That does not sound good, I wish you succeeded with your PT.
Be sure to take your time with embroidery.
Good news from Scott, I keep him in my prayers.

Sorry to read you have had trouble with your neck, whiplash is not nice. I see my chiropractor regularly to keep my neck inline (my MS issue point in in my neck) and bumpy roads never help. Good news for Scott, love your t-shirt, card and coasters:-)

Oh no! You need a smoother chauffeur! Hope your neck is soon better after the lovely Bridget works on you again.
Also, hope your friend is recovering and does well in rehab.

Fantastic news about Scott. I just wish you had better news for your neck. Congratulations on the win! Maybe wearing the cross stitch shirt will be like cross stitching. Or not--:-). Judy

I am so sorry to hear about your neck and having to go back to PT. Hopefully it won't be for long. No stitching for 2 weeks? I'd go crazy! Prayers are definitely being said for Scott and his family.

Vickie: I am so sad to hear about your pain, I have a friend who drives the same way drives me nuts, so I do most of the driving.
Congratulations on the win from RJ and Mary they are so generous in their giveaways.
Love the design on that shirt.
Good news for Scott and his family, it is amazing how they can get so much of the cancer nowadays, not so long ago they did not want to do brain surgery for cancer, modern science is amazing.
Still will have you and Scott and family in my daily prayers.

Blessings
Catherine

This is great news about Scott (and the rest of the family must feel better too!).

Congrats on your win and cute little extras! Wear it all the time to protest your not being allowed to stitch. With all these advancements in treatments and therapy, I hope doctors realize that cross stitches fix everything. :)

No, no, no, unacceptable! I know you like Bridget, but a coffee or tea date might have been a better idea! I do hope you're feeling better by now, and able to stitch a little here and there without doing any further harm.
I'm so glad you won the t-shirt from Mary and RJ, it looks good on you! And a sweet extra from Mary!
Good news on Scott, continued prayers for his recovery.

Oh, Vickie! I am just now reading this (have had a ton of houseguests lately!) and am so sad to hear about your pain from the car incident. Ugh! Just when you were doing so well. I am glad that you are at least able to work with Bridget again--that makes the whole thing a bit easier to take, I'm sure.

Hope you recover quickly and can get back to a normal stitching schedule :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your neck injury. Yes, I believe when you tell me that about the stopping and starting. My sister does that, plus she will let up on the gas all of a sudden while driving down the road and it causes me a lot of pain. I avoid riding with her! I love your new t-shirt and what a cute picture of you! Take care of yourself - prayers!

Blessings - Julie
